Netheravon, UK -
I went to Kolomna last year, and you shouldn't have any problems. It's not that cold this time if year 10-15 deg C at the moment and getting warmer. Also cold air is more dense than warm air not less and you probably won't notice much difference sea level and 114m (300-400ft approx i think). Jas

I created the Wikipedia Article for "Vertical Wind Tunnel".
jas8472 replied to mdrejhon's topic in Wind Tunnels
most tunnels suck, I've not been in a blower yet. -
TSE Viper (New Teardrop) maybe??? That looks low profile on pics I've seen and I heard it was designed with the help of a speed skydiver.

FYI, UK has a 6 month reserve repack cycle. I recently jumped my main after 6 weeks packed and it took 1500 feet to open, I would expect a few months to be ok, not sure about 5or6 though, just don't hop&pop it.

I know a girl who bought a used rig, and did 6 jumps on it before someone asked her when she was packing, "aren't you going to cock the pilot chute?" and she replyed "do what?".

You forgot about currency. Also what would the final number actually mean? Edited to add: You could compare one sykdive to another with system (maybe) but how would it compare to drive to the DZ or crossing the street, wouldn't that be the goal in any risk assessment to compare skydiving to every day life.

How do you know it's 15:00 (aka 3pm) if your reading a analogue clock. If your alti says 3k and you just left plane your at 15k. If your alti says 3k and people are pulling your at 3k.

end cell closure on my pilot168
jas8472 replied to billyg23's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
mine is a 168 at about the same WL, it did both end cells almost every jump for about 30-40 jumps, then just one side for about 20 jumps, then one side every 5-10 jumps for a while, it hardly ever does it anymore, it's been fine since about 150 jumps, its now got about 400 on it. -
What is the AVERAGE WL of people on 1st gear at your DZ
jas8472 replied to koppel's topic in Instructors
do you mean student kit or individual first kit. -
Be as fit as you can and stretch every day.

239 jumps, tandem, aff rating next season???? Abit ambitious don't you think.

400 jumps on mine and it's not spanked me yet.

Would you mention that you are a skydiver?
jas8472 replied to Superman32's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I would put it on my CV but not bring it up unless they did first. -
How much do winds really push you in freefall
jas8472 replied to tdog's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I've done jumps before with 50 knot uppers, the plane is barely moveing across the ground and had over a mile of free fall drift. Get out deeeeeep!! -
Introducing the Skyboard / skydiving glider
jas8472 replied to britboynz's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Could stay airbourne for 20 minutes?? From what altitude? Later they say that actual flights were only 50 seconds and just over a mintue? Also how many jump tickets would it cost you, and jumps ships not usually the most spacious of aircraft.
