Kerry fails at being someone he isn't...again.
crozby replied to tunaplanet's topic in Speakers Corner
So Kerry gets a score wrong. Big fat hairy deal. Who died? Not 10,000+ Iraqis. Who got injured? Not 10,000+ US troops. It amazes me that you continuously get so irate about the most trivial Kerry blunder yet fail to have anything critical to say about a man who has erroneously caused unimaginable suffering to thousands of people over the last 18 months. Bush must have really touched your soul that you can worship him so faithfully despite the overwhelming evidence that he has done a piss-poor job. I could never bring myself to have that much devotion for a politician, no matter what party they belonged to. -
So why don't you guys ever apply the same logic to the ownership of nuclear WMD?
-
Yeah, but at least Liberals aren't stinky like Conservatives are
-
I vote No. In the UK it is illegal to carry any more than a small amount, or to deal or to buy. But ... it's as easy to buy weed it as it is to buy cigarettes if you know where to get it, and as long as you smoke it in your own home or are discreet when out and about you have no problems with the law whatsoever. If it got legalised the government would only tax the hell out of it and they already steal too much of my cash as it is. So things are just great as they are IMHO.

Nice spin! I think a more accurate statement might be: Arabs are killing Arabs in unprecidented numbers, and so are we.
-
This must be an UK-US translation error thing because i didn't say it was a good thing. I meant if the stated reason for invading Iraq - that Saddam had WMD and we were in danger - was true then you'd expect nuclear facilities to be secured to prevent materials going walkabout. As it turned out, the top priority after the invasion was to secure oil fields. Thats not what the report says. Try reading it.
-
Or at least pay for the fucking thing.
-
Yet more evidence that the real reason for the war had fuck-all to do with WMD.
-
It's good news, but we have been in exactly this position with the Medhi militia once before and it didn't last, so I don't think we should get too hopeful just yet.

Where do you get your info from. Because this is the kind of crack times that are believed for AES: http://csrc.nist.gov/CryptoToolkit/aes/aesfact.html

No Weapons of Mass destruction! (real Shocker)

I'm not quite sure what you are basing that statement on. It was a good deed how? And in what way are we safer than we were prior to the invasion? -
No, he's not a bad doc. Humans make mistakes, it's part of being human. Hospitals should recognise this fact and have systems in place that prevent inevitable mistakes like this from causing death. A doctor making a typo should not result in somebodys death.

These terrorists are pathetic ASSHOLES!! COWARDS!!

Then we agree 100%. -
These terrorists are pathetic ASSHOLES!! COWARDS!!

Re-read my post. I didn't accuse you of that. And my point is that just because they have sympathy for the Palestinians does *not* make them anti-semitic. I have jewish friends who don't like what Israel is doing - are they anti-semitic too? I'm white. I was out on my motorbike the other day stopped in traffic and some black kid tried squeezing between my bike and the car next to me. In doing so he was scraping the paintwork on my bike so I have a go at him. He said I was only having a go at him because he was black. I've heard that same childish argument used by supporters of Israel's policy in Palestine - they kill innocent Palestinians and when anyone has a go at them about it, they claim they are anti-semitic. Yes mum. -

It's really sad that people can only defend the actions of the Israeli government by labelling anyone who criticizes her as as anti-semitic. -
Hey Tuna, I think you need to post about things other than Kerry. It's just not healthy being so obsessed with another guy like you appear to be. Besides, if you thought Kerry was a flip-flopper, well he is NOTHING compared to weather girls. One day they say it's going to be sunny, and a day later they say it's going to be rainy, and then it's going to be snowy, and next they say it's going to be sunny again. God-damn flip-floppers.
-
So let me make sure I understand what Kerry is saying. In December 2003 he basically said that anyone who doesn't think we are safer without SH was wrong. Then, 9 months later he's saying that although it's good SH is gone there is now chaos in Iraq and the USA is no safer than it was before SH was removed. Gimme a break. That's not flip-flopping. It's stating the bleeding obvious. The situation in Dec 2003 in Iraq was nowhere near as bad as it is now. Now it's a bloody mess. Any politician that tried to pretend otherwise would be a total fucking liar. Or stupid. Or both. It's not even a flip-flop in the true sense of the word! And thats you're favorite???? What's you're second favorite?
-
Technically its called Deja Moo if you're hearing the same old bullshit all over again.
-
Do you suppose his team of advisors go cry in a corner every time he does a flip-flop, or are all of them flip-floppers, synchronised flip-floppers if you like, flip-flopping together in unison?
-
Now that to me is completely different to this situation because it's not about putting a picture of a pupil holding a gun into a school sanctioned publication. What was the eventual outcome?
-
That would depend on whether the school had a ban on fencing foils or not. In my view it is reasonable for the school to ban from the shool yearbook *anything* that is banned from the grounds of the school. If the guy was in the school skeet shooting team then I don't doubt for a minute that they would allow the picture. But there isn't such a team. That said, I bet if the guy had just won the Olympic skeet shooting gold medal in Athens this year then it would get into the yearbook and a whole load of other school publications besides.
-
at my school if the boys got caught with their shirt hanging out the school nurse would sew a big white lacy extension to the bottom of the shirt and they'd have to wear the shirt hanging out for the rest of the day. Don't think it did me any harm (he says, adjusting his skirt)

I may be being a bit dim here, but makes all previous ketchups supporters of the democrats and this one not?

I'm from Europe and I don't agree. Its Bush, Rumsfeld, Cheyney etc. who are responsible for the US policy that Europe doesn't like. It is they who have shown distain for the UN and for France and Germany. It is they who made a great show of stating they didn't need help from anyone else, yet now grovel to the UN because they have finally worked out that they can't handle it on their own any more. People in the Europe complain about Bush, not about the USA. If Bush were to go then as long as Kerry and his team talk to Europe and include Europe and make them feel like partners then they will respond. Its silly to suggest that Kerry couldn't do better than Bush in this area, because almost no one could do worse.

Ok, how about smoking. What if the school banned the kid from getting a picture with him smoking and holding a packet of Marlboros into the yearbook. Would you support Philip Morris or some pro-smoking group taking the school to court? Basically substitute the gun with anything else that is forbidden on school premises and I think the school has a right to exclude it from the year book at their discretion.
