Ha ha ha!!! Like you guys, who lets remind everyone, have killed more than 10,000 Iraqis, are O-fucking-K because at least when you did it you weren't wearing masks. And you were behind missile launchers, or in really big sneaky aeroplanes. I never cease to be amazed at the different justifications you identify between your treatment of your enemy and your enemy's treatment of it's enemy. "Ok, so we may have abused prisoners at Abu Grade, but at least we weren't wearing turbans whilst we did it". Pray tell: Is it better to kill 10 people whilst wearing masks, or is it better to kill 10,000 people whilst wearing the uniform of the US military?

There is an ancient saying that basically says something along the lines of "immitation is flattery". Since moore's film came out, all the republican fuckwits could do is moan and winge about Mr. Moore, and now they are all excited about something which is a copy-cat piss-take of his film? For fuck's sake, have they no pride? Have they no originality? Have they no imagination? Err ... no, it would seem not.

What a total bunch of BS. Compare the 'regret' shown for the 10,000 victims in Iraq. There is sod-all regret shown by the US for the loss of Iraqis, and even if there were, so what? Does it make it ok to murder civvies so long as you regret it? The fact that they are Arabs and they are not US citizens and they are a long way a way makes their lives less important by definition. So much less important that sacrificing 10,000 of them is an acceptable price to pay for 'liberating' the rest of them, or whatever the hell this weeks reason for the war is. How many people have died at the hands of Al-Quaeda vs died at the hands of the US government in the last 5 years? Does that statistic tally with the idea that the US values life more than they do? Like fuck it does.

I think it's the same point I was asking earlier which AggieDave couldn't be arsed to respond to: If someone is born disabled or gay or with an allergy to communion wafers, who made them that way? Did God do it? If so, why? -

Nice post. Does this imply that disabilities and other imperfections in people (and animals?!?) are not caused by Gods will, but rather come into existence as a result of our bad behaviour and the supernatural influences of Satan? -

You lost me there. Are you saying that God didn't make her that way? -

Seems pretty obvious to me this is just like when God tested Abraham or whoever it was by asking him to kill his brother or son or someone as a test of his faith. God created the little girl with this disorder for a reason. He clearly wants her to put aside her fears, demonstrate her faith in Him and take communion anyway. -
Yes. The whole smear/counter-smear thing is making the US democratic process appear childish, dishonest and underhand. Its making headlines around the globe and is hardly a great advert for democracy.

Iraqi soccer players angered by Bush campaign ads featuring team

Not so. They elected a different government because they were pissed off with the behaviour of the existing one. They were pissed off with them because they took them to war in Iraq even though a minority of Spanish supported it. To be sure the bombings re-awakened their anger for that decision, but more than that they were livid that their government tried to cover up the fact that Al Quaeda had bombed them. Think about it. If a significant majority of the US had been against Bush's war and he did it anyway and a few days before the next election al Queda bombed the US and Bush then tried to blame it on some American group for political gain, would you guys vote Bush back in just to stick two fingers up at Al Queda? Or would you throw him out for taking you into a war that you didn;t want to be in, resulting in domestic bombing that wouldn't have otherwise happened, topped off with a bunch of lying to you, plus a whole load of other more mundain domestic shit that you didn;t want more of anyway. -

No Ron, the people of Spain elected their new leader, and they made a decision based on a load of facts, prominently amongst them being the fact the previous government had just been caught in a fucking big lie. If anyone played into the hands of the terrorists it was previous Spanish government when they responded to the bombings with a bunch of lies and misdirection designed to get themselves re-elected. -

You clearly dont understand what happened in Spain if that is your interpretation of what happened. The Spanish government was very unpopular for supporting Bush's invasion of Iraq. They knew that they would lose votes in the election if the public knew the bombings were caused by their decision to go to support the war. So they stalled investigations whilst at the same time putting out the word that the domestic terrorist group Eta was responsible for the attacks. The public threw them out for this deceit. And quite rightly in my opinion. -

This story just reinforces the general view held by most Iraqis which is: yes, many of them hated Saddam, and yes many of them are glad he's gone. Now however, more Iraqis hate the US and more Iraqis would like the coalition forces to just fuck off out of their country. They didn't want us there in the first place. Now that our glorious leaders have ordered the murder of thousands of their civilians and turned their country into some kind of terrorists playground they want us there even less. And who can blame them. I read on this website the total outrage vented when it seems like someone might interfere with peoples right to carry their pistols around with them. I wish those same people would stop for a minute and imagine how they would feel is some foreign power bombed their neighborhood to shit and sent in a bunch of trigger-happy troops to "liberate" them. Would they be out there throwing flowers at the invading forces or would they be putting their precious guns to some use? No one in their right mind would have planned for this outcome, the whole situation is a total disaster and its all down to Bush, the cretins who advise him and the spineless suck-up world leaders, particularly those from the UK, Australia, Poland & Spain who supported him. Show some empathy people. Try to put yourselves in ther shoes. for most Iraqis the last year has been a fucking nightmare for which they should be grateful to absolutely no one. -
How trustworthy is that site? It seems to indicate that gun related crime is higher per-capita in the US than the UK. http://www.nationmaster.com/graph-T/cri_mur_wit_fir_cap
-
Absolutely. Britain and the US and everyone else has been using torture since forever. The unwritten rule is that governments can get up to shit-loads of morally repugnant activities so long as the general public doesnt have proof they are doing it - Do whatever you want, just don't get caught! The problem these days is that its becoming too damn difficult for governments to break the law without some nosey journalist finding out about it and telling us all and putting us in the bad situation of having to judge the activity against our spoon-fed Sunday-school morals.
-
I read it and you are right. As usual, the 'facts' pointing to gun control in the UK being behind an increase in crime are in fact total bollocks. I personally would like a gun or ten, but I would prefer that all the stupid fuckers that live around me don't have any, even if that means sacrificing my own fun. Getting back to the main thread. Does anyone know for sure that the 'victims' didn't deserve to get batted?

Are you honestly saying you don't watch any male politicians yabbering away and catch yourself thinking 'Man, you are one ugly f*cker!'?

I've got shares in a company called Xenova that is designing vaccines for cocaine and nicotine. The purpose is to enable people addicted to those substances to qet off them. Anyone who has been addicted to either knows what a God-send something like that would be. Vaccinating kids is taking it a step to far and sounds like a load of bollocks to me.

Now you don't get a much more offensive personal attack than that!

Seriously? Our armed forces wouldn't stand for it for a start. Neither would the people. Anyone attempting it would fail to find enough supporters to operate an effective tyranny. And it just wouldn't be British
-
Why not: Poll Tax riots changed the law. Fuel protests ground things to a halt. 6 million people marched against the Iraq war. 3 million(ish) marched on the anti-fox hunting ban. they wouldn't get that far is why not.
-
Err .. no. My point was that the situation has become so bad that attrocities are committed by both sides on a regular basis. The Palestinians murder a whole load of civilians and blame it on a previous Israeli action. The Israelis follow this by murdering a whole load of civilian and claim its done in its own defence. The fact is both sides are murdering civilians and both sides think they are justified in doing so when in fact both sides are behaving like turds. The sooner everyone involved starts being a bit civilized, which means less bombing, less assassinations, less tunnels, less illegal settlements, and less fucking racism, the sooner there will be a chance to solve the problem.

To the people who loved the innocents who died because they were in the vacinity of a Hamas leader when his car was destroyed by an Apache helicopter it comes across that way. That keeps on happening. The pilots know they are going to kill innocents when they do that, because they always have, but they still do it anyway. However you want to paint it the decision has been made by someone at some level that in those kinds of situations Palestinian casualties are acceptable. That would make it a policy wouldn't it? I didn't mean they are the same - Arafat is by far the biggest turd of the two, IMO. But at the same time, if Sharon really gave a shit about peace, why did he build the wall where it is - its just a massive slap in the face to the Palestians. What I was trying to say is that neither of them has the right attitude for achieving a meaningful peace so it would be better for everybody if they were both replaced by leaders who were.
-
I agree with that point except whilst palestinians are not making a distinction between innocent women and children and those who persecute them its not likely to happen is it? Again, how can you expect Israel to stop killing innocents when the Palestinians are doing the same thing? The EU contributes loads of cash. Where does it all go? The behaviour of both sides in this conflict is beyond disgusting. The innocent people on both sides need to get rid of Sharon and Arafat and put people in power who give more of a shit about them than they do about politics. This constant bickering about who's fault it all is will not solve anything and is a pointless waste of time that only serves the evil bastards who are only interested in maintaining the status quo. You guys need the courage to stand up and say enough is enough and work together to stop the violence.
