  1. Totally depends on the injury. If I don't believe the injury will impair my ability to fly my slot and control my canopy, I would manifest. But, if I thought that the injury could be easily worsened, no way would I go up.
  2. It believe the primary question would be, why were they grounded? I mean, the military will suspend use of it's equipment for some very simple reasons. How long were they downed? Not meaning to sound "old", but when many of us began skydiving, we were jumping piston prop Beech-18's and Twin Bonanzas. Now, these planes leaked oil like pouring soda from a can. They spat 4ft flames on startup and lost engine power in flight sometimes. I (and my gear) have been pelted by oil drops thrown from high RPM engines. Still, we survived. Was it safe...probably, but not as safe as the planes today. Sorry to ramble, guess I'm just feeling nostalgic. Geez, maybe I AM just getting old?!?
  3. It is beyond my belief that such a wonderful person has left us. He will be missed by everyone who knew hiim.
  4. This is indeed a tragedy. A great loss to anyone who knew him. I am so very sorry to hear this news. I extend my most humble sympathies to Pauls family and friends.
  5. Very bad news, indeed. I have known Paul for about ten years. Although I have been better friends with his brother, Bill. While this type pf thing would not be out of character for Bill, it is very odd to hear of Paul in such a bad situation. They are both really great guys and I wish the very best for both. Please extend my most sincere regrets and my prayers for his recovery. -Matthew
  6. I have a friend who sold a car once to buy a rig. Probably a 1998 Mustang to buy a Vector/Sabre combo. Car is still gone, still has the rig, but he no longer jumps. Unless you plan on living at the DZ and never date...keep the car and find a used rig for less $$.
