Virginia attorney general to colleges: End gay protections
funjumper101 replied to Andy9o8's topic in Speakers Corner
Remind me again - WHICH party was it that filibustered the Civil Rights Acts of 1957 and 1964? Oh, that's right - it was the DEMOCRATS. Remind me again why right wing followers simply can't read and comprehend simple written words? The challenge still stands for all the right wing followers - What positive social change has come about due to conservative philosophy? Conservative politics? Conservative ANYTHING? The honest answer is - Not a god damn thing. Every single postive social change in the USA, starting with the Declaration of Independence, came about because of Progressive philosophy and ideas. Deal with it. If it was up to the right wingnuts, women would still not be able to vote or own property. If it was up to right wingnuts, Plessy v Ferguson would still be law. If it was up to the right wingnuts, deed restrictions regarding race and religion would still be enforceable. The list is really has no end. Every positive social change has been adamantly opposed the conservatives. -
Kibbe from Sacramento is a serial killer and former skydiver and rigger. He got caught because he was using rigger's knots to strangle his victims. For a while in Norcal pull up cords were called Kibbe cords...

Virginia attorney general to colleges: End gay protections

You have a correct interpretation. Conservative values are no good. 100% correct. No positive social or ethical change has ever come about from conservative values. and Republicans are the most dishonest 100% correct again. The republicans in the Senate are especially un-embarrassed about their hypocritical lies. Take a look at Rachel Maddow's show from 3/8/10. She does a fine job of documenting how the scumbags are against their own political positions and LIE like rugs. Ron, it is nice to see that an old guy like you can still become less ignorant by doing a bit of reading and review of the FACTS. Marc, take a lesson from Ron. Ignorance IS curable. -

Yes, you would think intelligent adults, especially those in the role of finding solutuions to our nation's challenges, would not be fountains of hyperbole, exxageration, and outright lies. Unfortunately, enough of the public lap it up - so they consider it a valuable tool. Yeah, wouldn't it be nice if the right wingnuts didn't come up with outright lies like "death panels", and "My baby would have been euthanized under obamacare", and "Using reconciliation is the NUCLEAR OPTION!!', etc, etc. Since the corporate takeover of the media, the right wing bullshit ends up with WAY more publicity than used to be the case. Back when I was a young'un, if a broadcaster knowingly and repeatedly broadcast that which was patently untrue, and failed to publish corrections, their broadcast license could be suspended or revoked. The public airwaves, as in, the radio frequencies that carry radio and television broadcasts are owned by the US government. They are RENTED to the radio/TV stations. It used to be the use of the airwaves carried a great deal of responsibility. Due to the corporate takeover of the US government, the rules have been watered down to uselessness. The problem with the corporate takeover of the media is those that control the media control the message. There are very few right winger followers who protested against the Iraq war, and the CONCURRENT massive tax cuts for the wealthy. Instead of raising taxes to pay for the wars, taxes were CUT. We started borrowing money at an unprecedented rate to pay for two wars, along with the LARGEST EXPANSION OF THE GOVERNMENT in history. The borrowed money paid for the tax cuts that were given to the top earners in the country. Government oversight of the banking and energy industries fell away to nothingness. The "energy crisis" in California, the massive runup of gas and diesel prices that had no correleation to the cost of raw materials, and the promotion of mortgage backed securities all put the country on a path to the economic disaster that we are in now. The built in budget deficits are crippling efforts to turn around the havoc wreaked on the USA by 8 years of Republican incompetence and deliberate right wing ignorance. The tea party nitwits are being led by the very corporate entities that got us here. I still don't get how the right winger are so easily led into voting against their own best interests. How can anyone in their right mind support the current system of paying for, and delivering medical care in the USA? The parasitic leech that is the for-profit insurance companies suck up more than 1/3 of the revenue. For the fact challenged, health insurance companies used to be ALL non-profit organizations. The Rescums figured out how much money was in play and fixed that "terrible mistake" for us. The results are outstanding, if you are a rich Republican. For the rest of us, not so much. -

Nicely done, Bill.

About two weeks ago my son-in-law pointed out the similarities between Obama brand marketing and Hitler's brand marketing of the 30's. And people see bunnies in clouds. The idea that Omaba has anything to do with anything on that level of granularity is simply ridiculous. Right wingnuts are so deficient in critical thinking and basic fact checking that this story got major traction. The simpletons can't separate truth from fiction, on most any level. There are many right wingnuts who post here that are in this category. Four completely proven and documented lies, and the wingnuts are incapable of doing a simple google or yahoo search. If those assholes weren't so god dammed gullible, the country would be a lot better off.

Miss Beverly Hills Thinks God Wants Gays Put to Death
funjumper101 replied to Andy9o8's topic in Speakers Corner
Exactly. Well stated. Good to say you again Jon. Total bullshit. Poorly stated. If you want to run your life on the basis of a book full of ancient superstitious nonsense, fine by me. Have at it. That is what this country is supposed to be all about. When you want me and mine to run OUR lives by your superstitious nonsense, I will tell you to go to hell and get the fuck out of my face. I will fight to the bitter end to keep your superstitious nonsense out of my life. Freedom OF religion means freedom FROM religion. Your superstitious nonsense does not trump my superstitious nonsense. I can find a bible passage to support anything I think is true. So called "christians" are the masters of this illogical bullshit. For example, I see the passage "Lo, I am with you", as a blessing to those pilots that like to fly everywhere under 500' AGL. If you fly at normal altitudes, God is not with you. It is in the bible, so, according to christians, it must be true, eh? The bimbette that is the subject of the thread is advocating murder. When she starts killing her neighbors for working on the Sabbath and kills everyone she knows that eats meat on Fridays, perhaps she might have a smidgen of credibility. Until then, STFU, you ignorant slut. -

Anthiny Weiner kicked ass on the floor. The rescums sure weren't happy about the truth being told. Too bad none of the major media will show these truthful words. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KBqtyvn7OVw -
Keith Olbermann is not my favorite commentator. I was told that it would be a good idea to watch his special comments from 2-24-10, as they are quite moving, unless you have a heart of stone. The point made about how he doesn't have to worry about how to PAY for the care being provided should be food for thought for everyone opposed to a single payer plan in the USA. Having no insurance and no money is a death sentence here, if you develop a serious illness. That is shameful and wrong in every way. No one in their right mind can support the current situation. Watch both parts and listen carefully. 15 minutes well spent, if you really think about what he says. [reply Ya, only the R's abuse shit Only when you dont get what you want it what is really burning your ass So come right out and say what you really think, Marc. According to you, the filibuster is fantastic when used and abused by the rescums to stop anything and everything passed by the house during this session. According to you, the filibuster is a national disgrace when used as intended by the dems. Two faced bullshit, thats what it is. Have you been able to discern the difference between 64, and 129 and counting, yet? Didn't think so...
-
The Constitution calls for an up or down vote for apointments. I think Obamas should get that as well. Did you have as much of a problem with the filibuster when the R's had the Senate? The tactic being called for today has no precedent. The Senate is working , for the most part, as the founders intended. Very very slow so bs does not get quickly pushed through by either side And did you see this link in another thread? In case you didn't http://www.breitbart.tv/obama-dems-in-2005-51-vote-nuclear-option-is-arrogant-power-grab-against-the-founders-intent/ In a completly unsurprising post, Marc reveals a breathtaking lack of knowlege of the history of the filibuster, the use of the filibuster, and the immensely dangerous misuse of the filibuster by the Rescums in the current senate session. Perhaps you could read up on the use of the filibuster in recent times. Try 2005, for starters. Then read up on how many times the filibuster was invoked in the last 20 sessions. Then read up on how many times it has been invoked during THIS session. Once you actually know what you are talking about, post again. Maybe you could come up with a reasonable explanation as to why the senate is sitting on over 290 bills that have been passed by the house. Bills that have been approved in the Hosue with a "yes" vote of over 400, in some cases. It is one thing to obstruct those bills that your party has actual objections to. It is a disgusting and despicable tactic to block EVERYTHING possible, even when the house rescums voted in favor of the bill. This shit has got to stop. Dude, where did I say it has not been used? Fact, they both use it Fact, the constitution calls for an up or down vote of presidential appointments and the filibuster historically was not used for appointments (notice I did not say never) Fact, reconciliation or the nuclear option as it is called was intended for budget bills Your ranting is what should stop dude Did you investigate the hypocrisy you are supporting by the Dems as demonstrated in the link provided above? You can't tell the difference between 64 and 129 plus and counting? There is use, and egregious misuse. The rescums have long since passed into the egregious misuse area. Facts are facts, Marc. Even when the facts make your heros look really, really bad.
-
The rescums are spreading a pack of lies recently. Facts are not malleable. Facts are facts. Lie number one - According to the liars, reconciliation is very unusual and almost never happens. Since 1980, there have been 22 bills passed through reconciliation. 22 bills. The liars don't tell you that 16 were pushed through by the rescums. A perfect example of their reconciliation bills is the "temporary" massive tax cuts for the extremely wealthy that are due to expire soon. The tax cuts that have helped cause the record red ink that the teabaggers are so upset about. Passed in 2001. Lie number two - The rescums are saying that passing a bill through the senate via a simple majority, IE, 51 votes, is the "nuclear option". The "nuclear option" has nothing to do with passing a bill by majority vote, using the reconciliation process. The "nuclear option" is changing the senate rules to eliminate the filibuster. The rescums threatened to do it in 2005 when the Dems were using the filibuster (correctly) to block judicial nominations. Why are the rescums so afraid of majority rules? They have no issue with it at all, when they are the ones with the 51 votes. Lie number three - The rescums were frozen out of the process of putting together the health care bill. Rescums and their followers have a bad case of willful ignorance. The health care bill stalled for months over the summer when the "gang of six" senators supposedly worked to come up with a compromise. Three dem, three rescum. The rescums got a good portion of what they asked for, and still they did't move the bill forward. The concept of bipartisanship was killed by the rescums many years ago. The Dems have yet to learn this lesson. The rescums trample over any and all ideas from the Dems, when the rescums hold power. They don't even give lip service to the concept of bipartisanship.. Lie number four - The rescums say that "no major health care legislation has ever passed by reconciliation". They are liars. COBRA was a major overhaul of the health care system. Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (COBRA) Note that the fourth word is "reconciliation", as in, how the bill passed the Senate over the vigorous objections of the Rescums. Signed by into law by Reagan in 1985. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Consolidated_Omnibus_Budget_Reconciliation_Act_of_1985 The rightys need to learn a bit about truth and fact checking. It is one thing to stretch the truth. It is quite another to LIE about matters of great importance to the country. It is pathetic that the righties are so gullible they fall for the lies.

"Religious Beliefs are Caused Brain Defects" It makes sense, in a twisted way. This is a a great subject for grant writing and further research. Cheech and Chong - "I used to be all messed up on drugs. Now I'm all messed up on the Lord", -
Racist assholes really piss me off. So do right wing idiots who can't be bothered to do basic fact checking.

begin quoted text >>> "Birther" Bill Clears Arizona House Committee As Arizona remains in the throes of a budget crisis, Skull Valley Representative Judy Burges spends much of her time getting down to the important stuff. Her solution to fix the budget crisis is a legislative gem known as the "I didn't pay enough fund," where Burges expects taxpayers to voluntarily donate money to the state government. Fat chance, lady. Burges also proposed a bill this session that would require the Arizona secretary of state to verify a presidential candidate's birth certificate before the candidate's name is allowed on a ballot in Arizona. That bill passed the House government committee yesterday. As we noted in a previous post about the bill, we're not saying that wanting to prove a candidate is a naturally born American citizen -- as required by law to run for President of the United States -- is a bad thing. The problem, however, is that the move seems to be in direct response to the controversy over Obama's citizenship and the right-wing-conspiracy-theorist "birther" movement. "Birthers" claim that Obama was born in Kenya, and therefore is not eligible to be president, despite several investigations into the legitimacy of his Hawaiian birth certificate. In past interviews, Burges also told Capitol Media Services that she "has suspicions about Obama's loyalties, including bowing to the king of Saudi Arabia and a quote from his book (taken out of context) that when it came down to it, Obama would be on the side of Muslims. Sounds like someone's seen The Manchurian Candidate too many times. The bill now heads to the full House.
-
The scumbags caved. The record use of filibusters to block all 290 plus bills passed by the House may be coming to an end. This egregious and irresponsible misuse of the Senate rules to block EVERYTHING by filibustering every item, including routine matters, is why almost NOTHING has been accomplished by Congress in this session. The Rescums have no shame. The Rescums pitched a bitch in 2005 and threatened the "Nuclear Option" when the Dems blocked judicial appointments by Shrub, using the filibuster as it was designed. The Rescums are massively abusing the rules, so much so that even Faux News is starting to call them on it. All the right wing folks that support these clowns should do a bit of self education on the reality of what has happened for the past year, in comparison to previous Congresses. Once you know the facts, gather up your pitchfotks and torches and demand a stop to the severe abuse of the filibuster. The good news is "Senate Votes 70-28 to Approve $15 Billion Jobs Bill", "Thirteen Republicans joined 55 Democrats and two independents voting in favor". It is high time that the Rescums got out of the way of the nation's business. Don't you rightys feel any shame for supporting the asshole Rescums? Why not? Blithering ignorance is the only logical explanation...

Bush was known to be a bonehead well before SCOTUS crowned him the President. Kerick is an example of the integrity of the choices made by ShrubCo. Sorry for the confusion.
-
Nothing but the finest for the Bush administration. Do you folks who supported that bonehead feel any shame yet? I didn't think so. You don't give a damn about integrity and honesty. Begin quoted text >>> Bernard B. Kerik, a former New York police commissioner who rose to national prominence, was sentenced to four years inprison on Thursday after pleading guilty to eight felony charges, including tax fraud and lying to White House officials. Bernard B. Kerik after his federal indictment in 2007. The sentencing was the end of a legal saga in which federal prosecutors denounced Mr. Kerik, a former detective who rose to the upper echelons of power, as a corrupt official who sought to trade his authority for lavish perks. Under the terms of a plea agreement reached in November on the eve of his trial, the prosecution and the defense recommended that Judge Stephen C. Robinson sentence Mr. Kerik to 27 to 33 months in prison. But the judge departed from the sentencing recommendations, giving Mr. Kerik a longer sentence. Mr. Kerik has awaited sentencing under strict house arrest at his home in Franklin Lakes, N.J. Mr. Kerik’s prison sentence is set to begin immediately. It follows a fall from a rarefied perch where he wielded power with a signature mix of brash confidence and tough-guy charm. He was a close ally of former Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani, whom he served as a bodyguard and driver. Mr. Giuliani then tapped him for a senior position in the Correction Department, and he went on to become the agency’s commissioner. As testament to his clout, Mr. Kerik had a jail named after him in downtown Manhattan. (The name has since been changed.) Mr. Kerik later served as police commissioner, and his performance during after 9/11 attacks turned him into a national figure, earning him the respect of President George W. Bush, who nominated him to lead the Department of Homeland Security. That bid quickly collapsed in scandal, marking the beginning of the end of Mr. Kerik’s career. The case against Mr. Kerik centered on charges that a New Jersey construction company, the Interstate Industrial Corporation, which was suspected of ties to organized crime, had paid for renovations at Mr. Kerik’s home in the Riverdale section of the Bronx. Prosecutors said company officials had hoped Mr. Kerik would help them obtain a city license. In addition to pleading guilty to two counts of tax fraud and one count of making a false statement on a loan application, Mr. Kerik also pleaded guilty to five counts of making false statements to the federal government while being vetted for senior posts. Prosecutors had called for Judge Robinson to make an example out of Mr. Kerik, and to punish him for his “egotism and hubris.” Mr. Kerik’s lawyer, Michael F. Bachner, had asked the judge for leniency, citing his years of public service, and the dozens of letters of support written by family members, former colleagues in the Police Department, and even strangers who said they admired Mr. Kerik’s bravery.

Freedom OF religion means freedom FROM religion
funjumper101 replied to funjumper101's topic in Speakers Corner
Freedom of religion means that you can pursue any belief system that you want, without fear of persecution. It also means that no one religion is greater than, or lesser than, another. I don't see Jewish believers, Hindu believers, Muslim believers, or pretty much any other religion other than the so called "christian" religions trying to force their belief systems on the rest of the US population. The horseshit about the USA being a "christian" nation is just that, horseshit. The founders were VERY careful to ensure that this country was a secular country, not a religious one. I don't really care if you choose to follow a path that is based upon ancient superstions and a book that has been written and rewriiten many times. Keep that to yourselves and we'll all get along just fine. You may belive that abortion is a mortal sin. I don't. You may believe that all stores should be closed on Sundays. I don't. You may belive that homosexuality is a terrible sin and those that are homosexual should be pushed to the far margins of society. I don't. Please keep your religion to yourselves and leave the rest of us alone. Freedom OF religion very much means freedom FROM religion. The last thing that this country needs is the American Taliban, aka, the "christian" right, gaining any power over this secular country. They got pretty close between 2001 and 2009 and the shambles left in their wake is quite obvious. -
There is a very simple definition of "person" that should apply in this matter. Can the "person" be arrested, tried, and physically put in jail, if they commit a felony? If the answer is YES, they have a physical body that can be imprisoned if crimes are committed, they are a "person", with the rights thereof. If not, they aren't, and don't have the same rights. This is the most outrageous example of "legislation from the bench" and "judicial activism" that has occured in a very long time. So much for the assurances during the confirmation hearings regarding the respect for precedent, etc, etc. Where are howls of protest from the right? For the righties, is judicial activism and legislation from the bench a bad thing only on those issues that you disagree with? A certain lack of consistency seems to be the case here, eh?

And this is where our current gov has us headed Hey, shit for brains, read the article in full before spouting off your right wing bullshit. The econonic events in question took place during your hero's reign of incompetence. Rescumlicans and their policies have put us where we are. You and your kind are keeping us there. FUCK YOU and FUCK YOU to all the other right wing shit for brains cretins!!! Pull your head out of your ass and look around a bit. Or hire a proctometrist to put a glass window in your belly button so that you can see something other than right wing SHIT!! This country is in a world of hurt due to Rescumlican policies that were implemented successfully. Get the fuck out of the way and let the well educated competent people fix the disaster we are in.

But that's the old style fly on a prop thing right? It's not one of these modern skyventure types is it? That would be correct. A prop blowing choppy air up. Flyable, not nearly as smooth as the modern tunnels.

3G Coverage for the iPhone sucks in a lot of the country. The iPhone is very slow on the older network. It sucks being dependent on one for work, while at the fringes of the 3G coverage area. Missed and dropped calls, email delays, etc, are part of the daily experience. If you live in a major metropolitan area with good service, iPhone is the way to go. I have a lot of clients that have iPhones. Battery life is an issue. If you have good 3G service and don't do wireless network connections, turn it off. When you get the 20% battery life error message, connect up to a charger or a USB port ASAP, or turn it off. If you run out the battery a lot, the battery WILL fail. It is not a warranty item.
