Obama is not a US Natural Born Citizen
funjumper101 replied to warpedskydiver's topic in Speakers Corner
Don't feed the credulous troll. Something like 25% of the pople in the USA believe that the Creation myth in the Bible is fact. Something like 20% believe that dinosaurs and human beings were on the earth at the same time, and interacted with each other. What does this mean" It means there are a shitload of really ignorant people around whose grasp on reality is weak, to non-existant. The birthers are card carrying members of this group. Don't feed the troll. -
Obama is not a US Natural Born Citizen
funjumper101 replied to warpedskydiver's topic in Speakers Corner
WTF, you mean even if Obama doesn't have a valid birth certificate he still qualifies as a natural born citizen? Why do we let these idiots waste our time? Actually I will seek clarification in that issue. It would seem that give what people want to read into that parenthetical statement that anyone with just one parent being a citizen is still a natural born citizen even if born abroad. I think the verbiage was actually quite clear and had no connotation to mean that military and Diplomatic service were not requirements. Think about that before anyone spouts off and says I am all wrong. That would mean anyone borne outside he USA with just one parent being a citizen, having lived just five years in the USA would then be a naturalized citizen. That would qualify so many people as a natural citizen that this entire process of determining Naturalized Citizenship would all be a waste and that no section would need to be written to clarify it. Don't feed the mindless troll. -

Reverse the left/right notations and we have roughly 98% of your posts in SC - did you have a point, or just your usual partisan attack (which accounts for 99% of your posts in SC)? Irony score 9.7/10 -

"Never argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience." This thread could have died a natural death about 8 posts in. Discussions with right wingnuts are a waste of time and energy. Facts are meaningless details in the grand scheme of the willfully ill informed righty parrots. All that matters is what the great ones say, for repetion by mindless nitwits. -
Yeah, I see he comes from the state with the, supposedly, fifth largest economy, in the world, which, somehow, just can't keep itself out of the hole. Could it be all of those brilliant, egalitarian, progressive principles, which they are also trying to foist upon the rest of us, out here, in flyover country? The problems with the government in California are related to Rescums activities. What a shock. The party that hates America actively screwing it up. The Governator got his job by cheap shot shennanigans. The previous governor realized that the "temporary" 2/3 reduction in Vehicle License Fees was about to start causing seriious financial issues for the state. He decided to NOT extend the reduction. The resums marketed this as a "Huge tax increase", and, using paid signature gathers, managed to force a special election. They got Schwartzendickhead to run for givernor and he got the job. The other worthless and fucked up deal they convinced the sheeple to buy into was term limits for legislators. The resums did this becasue they couldn't win on their own merits, so they gamed the system. Now, no one is around Sacramento long enough to do much of anything. The legislature ginds and grinds and nothing productive happens. The third resum tactic was to get the budget to require approval by 2/3 of the legislature, instead of a mojority. This means that a few rescum dickheds can prevent the budget from passing. Ever since the law passed, the budget has not been passed on time. The resum minority hold the rest of the state hostage. If I am responsible for the logjam in Sac, Marc is in favor of gay marriage. It happens in our respective states, so we are in full agreeement, right? That would be an example of what passes for critical thinking among righties... Paid signature gathers should be outlawed. The initaive process has been fucked ever since PSGs have been allowed. That is how Prop 8 made the ballot. Prop 8 is the Prop 14 (1960s) of the 2008. Passes the popular vote, but is absolutely and totally wrong, from a moral standpoint. The worst shame of all is that the African American community voted to deny civil rights to an entire class of people on the basis of how god made them. Those folks have very short memories. ESAD, righies.

Appointments Accountable Only to the President
funjumper101 replied to rushmc's topic in Speakers Corner
How about his inability to place the 15th Amendment into the correct century? Can you point out the many many and multiple times that this error occured? Dates and specifics links please. Or are you extrapolating a single mis-statement that occured one time to indicate a general lack of understanding? -

For a "constitutional scholar" his understanding of the US Constitution seems especially lacking. Based on what cockamamie bullshit posted on what right wingnut website? -

Part 2; Appointments Accountable Only to the President
funjumper101 replied to rushmc's topic in Speakers Corner
Once again, righties whinging and whining because YOU LOST THE ELECTION!!!! Elections have consequences. Us lefties put up with the religious whackjobs that ShrubCo appointed EXACTLY the same way. You all didn't have a word to say when appointees from third and fourth rate "religious educational" institutions were appointed. The righties already control the major media outlets. The folks in flyover country have their heads pumped full of bullshit. Thus the spew from the righties. Suck it up, cupcakes. YOU LOST THE ELECTION. Deal with it. Odds are that having a self made constitutional scholar as a president is going to work out a lot better than a legacy blueblood alcoholic drug abuser from Conneticut by way of Texas did. Time will tell. -

Wrong again, Marc. The CIA lied in following ShrubCo's command. Your boys are lying sacks of shit that deserve to be prosecuted here in the USA, then handed off to the Hague for the international charges. My second cousin has quite a case ready for WHEN it happens, if the USA plans to adhere to international treaties. Flyover Country sure produces a lot of credulous nitwits with big opinions that have no basis in fact.

I'm afraid that more damage will be done during the "recovery". Conservative shitbags said much the same about FDR. They were worng then. As the conservative shitbags are wrong now. Time for the nuclear option that the rescums threatened, IE, end filibustering as a blocking technique. The shitbags were all for it when it was going to be applied againt the Ds. Don't think they'd like it much now that the tables are turned. Shrub's grandfather Prescott engaged in a conspiracy to overthrow the US Government in 1934. Fortunately Smedley Butler was a man of honor and couldn't be bought. What Shrub did is no surprise, considering what Grandpa attempted. http://www.prisonplanet.com/articles/july2007/240707fascistcoup.htm Buy the book at Amazon. It has been reprinted and is available now. http://www.amazon.com/Plot-Seize-White-House-Conspiracy/dp/1602390363/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1247459817&sr=8-1 10.17 brand new. Rescums give lip service to education, and generate CRAP like No Child Left Behind. That piece of trash has done more harm to schools and their finances than anything the so called "Liberals" did in 100 years. We are raising a nation of selfish dumbasses who know how to pass tests, bit can't think and reason worth a shit. I see it as a calculated expansion of the Republican Base. You can't have folks thinking for themselves.
-
More right wing bullshit trying to gloss over the disaster of ShubCo. Have you blind, deaf, and dumb apologists seen enough yet? Why do you keep making excuses for the dirtbags? Can't you think for yourselves? Get a fucking CLUE!! The Rescums have fucked over this country and we are not likely to recover from the damage. We are going to end up like the UK. A former world power that screwed themselves because the people are fucking STUPID and fall for the fearmongereing of the rescums. I think, therefor I cannot be republican. Fuck you righties for ruining this country. I hope you rot in hell. Every last one of you

Cyclists, is your front brake lever on your left or your right?
funjumper101 replied to jcd11235's topic in The Bonfire
Every bike I have had since I was 10 has had the front brake moved to the right handlebar. I learned to ride motorcycles when I was 10. I HATE riding other peoples bikes with the brake on the left. -
Too much pressure? (Palin to resign as Gov. of Alaska)
funjumper101 replied to BikerBabe's topic in Speakers Corner
The best explanation for Palin and why she is so polarizing is in this letter and the answer to it, as posted on Salon.com. http://www.salon.com/mwt/col/tenn/2008/09/29/sarah_palin/index.html She is a quitter. She had the job 2.5 years and bailed. Just like her college experience. When the going gets tough, she bails. Not what I would consider to be presidential material. Not by a long shot. -
Baking bacon works the best. Frying makes a big mess. Food Network strikes again Shallow baking pan, line with single sheet of aluminum foil, spread bacon slices out flat, bake at 375 degrees for 5-8 minutes, turn over, bake until doneness meets requirements. A big flat pan with extra wide foil works best. I use a 12x18 pan. Fold up the sides of the foil to keep the spatter vertical. I read somewhere that the nitrosamines that are bad for you come from exceeding 400 degrees when cooking bacon. Can't find it now.

Should Sen. John Ensign resign from the Senate?
funjumper101 replied to funjumper101's topic in Speakers Corner
Time for you to leave, dirtbag. Why aren't the rightys demanding his resignation? Must be that hypocrisy stuff that Mike doesn't comprehend. For the Google search challenged, here is the definition - hypocrisy 1. a pretense of having a virtuous character, moral or religious beliefs or principles, etc., that one does not really possess. 2. a pretense of having some desirable or publicly approved attitude. 3. an act or instance of hypocrisy. Synonyms: 1. See deceit. -
Obama: It's OK to borrow to pay for health care
funjumper101 replied to bodypilot90's topic in Speakers Corner
I think all those things should be supported by user fees from those who actually use them. Saying "well, we already do things you think are wrong, so what's one more thing?" isn't a very compelling argument. We should extend the "pay for service" idea to other areas of the commons. Instead of paying taxes and having a police department available at no direct charge, people who actually use their services can pay as they go. A 911 call should be billed at the true cost. A police response in a non-emergency situation can be billed in six minute increments. Instead of paying taxes and having a fire department available at no direct charge, people who actually use their services can pay as they go. An emergency call because your place is on fire = have your credit card ready when you call. Instead of paying taxes and having public roads available for use by all, people who drive and use the roads should pay as they go. A transponder linked directly to your bank account would work fine. Twenty five cents a mile sounds fair. These are examples of the "commons" that are paid for by taxes. If the base level of services provided by the commons do not meet your needs, you can pay for a higher level of service. You can hire a private security company to protect you and yours. You can hire a private fire-fighting company to protect you and yours. In some parts of the country you can pay and use privately owned roads to avoid traffic. Yosemite is an example of the "commons". So is Everglades National Park. The commons are not operated with the intent of making a profit. We, the USA, need to make the change as a society to the idea that a basic level of medical care is part of the commons. That is what every other first world country has done. Why are we lagging? Ignorance, fear, uncertainty, and doubt. The insurance companies are not going to give up hundreds of BILLIONS in parasitic profits. They'll do everything they can to convince the sheeple to keep the status quo. Scary anecdotes about "socialized medicine", you bet. Statistics warped to hide the cost of overhead and profit that is raked off the top of each health care dollar, absolutely. Gullible dittoheads spouting the party line, we got that right here. Get a clue, folks. The health care disaster is part of the economic mess we are in. We can't keep going as we are. The system is broken. -
Obama: It's OK to borrow to pay for health care
funjumper101 replied to bodypilot90's topic in Speakers Corner
It is not an 'experiment' there are dozens of working models around the world to go by. And judging by them, I damn sure don't want the US following their example. Judging by the practical success of the dozens of successful models around the world, we need single payer health care NOW. Why is the USA the only first world country that allows "For Profit" health care? Why is losing 30-40% of the money spent on health care to adminstrative costs and PROFIT a good thing? That 30-40% could provide a lot of health care. Say, for example, all of those retired auto workers who just lost their health care. Or the teachers that have been laid off in record numbers? The USA is the only first world country that allows citizens to go bankrupt because of medical bills. And righties don't see any problem with that at all. Rghties seem to think that the system is working fine as it is. Un kucking believeable. Borrowing a trillion dollars for a premeditated war of agression is just peachy keen. Spend money on health care = No fucking way. What the hell is wrong with you people? -
Christian group sues to BURN library book
funjumper101 replied to Andy9o8's topic in Speakers Corner
You lose me there. You can't selectively move books of a mature nature from a given subject and stick them in the backroom. You're now interferring with ease of access for adults. and/or creating a hell of a lot of logistical work for the library. You wouldn't want parents to actually supervise their children while they are in a library, would you? That is an unreasonable infringement on parents rights to use public libraries as free, short term day care centers. Parents should be able to take their kids to a public library and have them wander around unsupervised at any time. Get with it, man. This isn't the sixties, the seventies, or even the eighties when parents were expected to supervise their children. That is the responsibility of the , or whoever is around where the kids are. Parents don't have near the responsibility that they used to. They handed it off to the government entiry that runs the library, beach, or pool, or the private company that owns the mall. If those folks fail to properly supervise the kids, then it is time to SUE for damages. Far be it that the PARENTS would take responsibility. Those days are over. The ME generation are parents now. You must not be from around here. ;-) -
It has been my experience that the less you have traveled, the more likely you are to hold extreme right wing views. The old saw about travel broadening ones experience. There are exceptions to this, of course. If you don't get out much, watch Faux news, and read from sources like newsmax, you might end up with extreme right wing views. A bit of travel and exposure to other cultures is an important part of a well rounded education. Ignorance is NOT bliss.

Marc, I have asked before and I'll ask again - What countries have you visited? What states have you visited? How long was your longest stay at a place more than 200 miles from your place of birth? I have been to Canada, Mexico, Taiwan, and Singapore. I have driven cross country, one round trip, and one way when I moved to CA. I have visited, as in, spent more than three nights in, ME, NH, VT, NY, NJ, FL, WA, OR, MT, NV, CO, AZ, MI, WI, IL. I was in Taiwan for 13 days, and Singapore for a total of 11 days. I have made several trips to Canada and visitied NB, NS, PEI, and BC. All of my travels were as a civilian. The trips to the far east were busienss trips, with a few days to play. I moved from the east coast to California when I was 23. That was more than 20 years ago. Where have you been? Military or civilian?

As I pointed out in an earlier post, birth control measures are not always 100% effective. T-Shirt hell used to sell infant t-shirts with the lettering "broken condom". I saw a nice family in Pismo Beach where the baby had that shirt on. A nice pair of twentysomethings, all tatted and pierced up. They appreciated the fact that I knew where they got the shirt and busted up laughing when I saw it. Good kids, and very happy together. Cheerful baby, too. I have a niece from one sister and a nephew from another, both of whom were unplanned. One was from an IUD failure. The other was from birth control pills being ineffective. In both cases all reasonable precautions were taken, yet pregnancy occurred anyway. Just like in skydiving, you can do everything right, everything perfectly, and still end up with un-anticipated results. Like being taken out by a swooper while on final. Or getting nailed by a dust devil. Or her getting pregnant, even though she was on the pill and you used a condom. This is a very important point of fact that many folks conveniently overlook when spewing their anti-choice bile.

Just keep up with your phony outrage about every trivial thing that Obama does that annoys you. I plan to enjoy watching for the next 8 years. ;-) It is hilarious how the righties are all OUTRAGED about Obama, and whinge and whine about the most trivial bullshit. At least he said something. Shrub would have completely ignored both events.
