Jase Robertson on his dad's GQ interview
funjumper101 replied to RonD1120's topic in Speakers Corner
There is no controversy over private medical insurance paid for by employers covering recreational drugs for men. Is this something you have heard of? To the best of my knowledge there are no government regulations that require private insurance companies to pay for recreational drugs for men. There ARE government regulations that require private insurance companies to pay for prescriptions for drugs that help women deal with various medical issues, including pregnancy prevention. If you have the common sense to step back and ask yourself why there is a need for such regulations, it is extremely obvious. There is a certain part of the population that believes women are inferior, and should be subservient to the men around them. They should be kept barefoot and pregnant and home. Women are to be treated as too stupid to make rational decisions about their lives. These biblical beliefs have no place in modern society. In another thread, Ron makes vile assumptions about my female relatives because I defend their rights to make their own decisions about their medical care. This clear display of "Christian" Conservative attitudes about women is vile, but not surprising. Any intelligent, independent woman is a serious threat to "Christian" male dominion over women. That kind of woman cannot be tolerated. It goes against the bible. -
These poor migrants just want passage into the USA

What a nice group of people there are posting in this thread. Their compassion and empathy sets an great example, and makes clear what wonderful people Americans are. The beautiful display of Christian beliefs by Ron is especially impressive. It makes be real proud of my fellow citizens. Their generosity and hospitality towards people fleeing horrible living situations in their home countries shows just how great American people are. Amazing, isn't it? -
That was his stated concept in his first paragraph. MY point was that he is afraid and angry without a sound foundation. You have for some time indicated that you walk in the same sand. The stated concept in the first paragraph is summed up in four words - MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS What females that you are not married to, or the father of (if they are under 18), do in their personal lives is NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS. Your twisted misinterpretation is ridiculous. Freedom from unwanted government and corporate intrusion into personal medical decisions is what I advocate for. In theory, that is a Conservative value. You inability to understand these concepts is something that is your issue, not mine. I don't see any other posters failing to understand the basic concepts I write about. Why is it so troublesome for you?

WHOOOOSSSHHHH - right over Ron's head. Can't say I am real surprised. The person who talked about the 47% being a drag on society was the Republican's last presidential candidate, RMoney. The Republican party, via their leaders, is the group that thinks you are a drag on society. Did you miss the big news during the election, or are you conveniently forgetting WHERE the 47% assertion comes from? In case you missed the details of the 47%, that also includes retired military people, too. RMoney's assertion about the 47% was helpful in preventing his election, thank God. With regard to the Social Security and Medicare benefits you are collecting, the fact that you oppose Socialism, according to your own writings, while collecting the benefits of Socialism, is utter hypocrisy. The money you paid into the system is far less than the benefits you will collect if you live a normal lifespan. Your lack of understanding of basic economics does not validate your situational ethics on this issue. The politicians you are likely to vote for are the exact same ones that would implement cuts in "entitlements", aka, Social Security and Medicare. You cannot, or will not, admit that this is factual information about the politicians you are likely to vote for. Go ahead and vote for them. With luck, they'll implement the very policies they want to, costing you a reasonable portion of the Socialist benefits. You deserve to get what you vote for. Conservatives opposed the creation of Social Security and Medicare. It is well documented in the history of how these programs came to be. Conservative philosophy continues to oppose these programs, in spite of their great success. Conservatives would END these programs, if they could trick enough people into supporting their policies. They try to do this by calling the programs "entitlements", which tricks folks like you into thinking that changes would have a positive outcome for you. Here is a free clue, Ron. If your favored politicians succeeded in reducing "entitlements", this means a reduction in YOUR benefits. I am sure that you have enough money to make for the shortfall in what you had planned on via these programs, correct? If not, you'll just have to learn to get by on less. SIUCC... Death panels administered by Obamacare? WTF? Are you really that gullible? That horseshit was disproved long ago. The "death panels" that do exist are run by the private insurance companies, with no oversight by anyone. This is a better system, according to the Conservatives. No accountability for corporations, no oversight, no regulation. That is GOOD for the average citizen, unless you are the average citizen victimized by the private insurance companies. My female relatives and their activities are none of your business, and none of the government's business. The absolute hypocrisy of Conservatives who profess to believe in minimal government intrusion into their personal lives, while supporting heinous regulations on legal medical care for FEMALES is disgusting. The ignorance of Conservatives, and their hypocrisy, never fails to amaze me.

News Commentary? Having listened and watched the that entertainer's "performances" on a few occasions, I am astounded that anyone could view his crap as anything other than over the top satire. There is little to no basis in reality for his ranting. It is some funny shit, a few beers in. When sober, it is very scary that his crap is perceived by anyone as having to have anything to do with reality.

Ron is free to write and say what he wants to. He is also free to make his own decisions on personal medical care, without a massive burden imposed by self righteous assholes that want to control the decisions that other people make. He is free to live his life as he chooses. My sisters, nieces, and grand-nieces are not, thanks to nosy fuckers that want to have a say in their personal medical decisions. I have a MAJOR problem with people like Ron trying to force their beliefs and practices upon others. I grew up in Massachusetts, while the "blue laws" were still in effect. As a child, I got in a lot of trouble with the Catholic neighbors when I actively questioned WHY most of the stores were closed on Sundays. Religious values being forced upon the entire population is how I saw the issue. Those that didn't want to shop or work on Sundays were free to not do so. Why were the rest of us forced to go along? I am not all for "killing an unborn fetus". Your use of this term shows your ignorance of developmental process that occurs between conception and delivery. It would be a good thing if, as Hilary Clinton put it, abortion was safe, legal, and extremely rare. The mindset that was present in the mid seventies that treated abortion as a minor issue, not subject to serious consideration and reflection, has passed, thankfully. I am not now, nor was I ever, in favor of abortion. I am in favor of me, you, and everyone else MINDING THEIR OWN BUSINESS and staying out of other peoples medical decisions. The intense concern you and your kind have for "unborn babies", starts at conception, does not include any concern for the mother, and ends at delivery. At no time is there any support for pre-natal care, extending SCHIP, or any other assistance to the mother and child. Your kind just won a great victory for "religious freedom" via the insane decision by SCOTUS to allow a CORPORATION to decide which birth control methods the employee's benefits can pay for. Civilized countries do NOT execute their citizens, even when the crime committed is exceptionally heinous. I would rather have 1000 people in prison for life than execute ONE innocent person. After you die, track down Cameron Willingham and have a chat with him about the death penalty. How many innocent people on Death Row have to be set free before you and your kind get that the death penalty is WRONG? I support freedom, individual rights, and personal responsibility. In my world view of the USA, legal decisions that EXPAND the freedom and responsibilities of individuals are correct. Decisions that INCREASE corporate and government power while reducing individual freedoms are wrong. That makes me rather Libertarian. I am not a member of any political party. I vote for the candidates that come closest to matching my personal beliefs, and support causes and issues that matter to me. I recently voted for Republican candidate over a Democratic candidate in a local election. The moderate Republican's campaign positions were more in line with how things should be administered in this county. The current National Republican Party is absolutely engaged in a war on women. Provided that the half of the population that is less than average intelligence catches on, that should come to a screeching halt PDQ. Unfortunately, since media ownership has been allowed to consolidate, the accuracy of the information presented has gone down considerably. When you control the information, you control the minds of the less intelligent. Joseph Goebbels would be very proud of the success of the Right Wing Conservatives in controlling, in large part, the information provided to the masses. That leads the less intelligent to vote for politicians that are in favor of policies that would actually hurt them. A great example of this is Ron's support for Republican politicians over Democratic politicians. Ron does not understand that he is now part of the 47% of the population that is a "taker" not a "maker". Ron is a drag on the economy. He doesn't work. He is collecting fat benefits from social programs that Conservatives oppose, and want to end. When Republican politicians talk about cutting "entitlements", that is weasel words that refer to Social Security and Medicare. Ron voting for those politicians is like a chicken voting for Col. Sanders. Those same politicians have no problem cutting taxes for corporations and the very wealthy. That leaves the rest of us holding the bag. We really are that stupid. In the 1950s, corporate taxes paid about 42% of the US budget. As of this year, that number has dropped to 17% We, the people, are stuck holding the bag. These same corporations do everything they can to avoid taxes, with the expectation that the US Military will be used to "protect their interests" if other countries start to impede their business operations. For example, if Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia decided to impose a transit tax on passage through the Strait of Malacca, the US Military would be engaged to prevent collection, if diplomatic means failed. Do a little reading of Smedley Butler's writings. What was true then is true now, in spite of 100 years passing.

David decided to propose to Penny, but prior to her acceptance Penny felt she had to confess to her man about her childhood illness. She informed David that she suffered a disease that left her breasts at the maturity of a 12 year old. He stated that it was OK because he loved her sooo much. However, David felt this was also the time for him to open up and admit that he had a deformity too. David looked Penny in the eyes and said, 'I too have a problem. My winky is the same size as an infant and I hope you can deal with that once we are married.' She said, 'Yes, I will marry you and learn to live with your infant size winky.' Penny and David got married and they could not wait for the honeymoon. David whisked Penny off to their hotel suite and they started touching, teasing, and holding one another. As Penny put her hands in David's pants, she began to scream and ran out of the room! David ran after her to find out what was wrong. She said, 'You told me your winky was the size of an infant!' 'Yes, it is David said ... 6 pounds, 5 ounces, 14 inches long. Another one - How I lost my teeth.... I was in the Texas Rose last night, at the bar waiting for a beer, when a butt-ugly, big old heifer came up behind me, and slapped me on the ass. She said, "Hey sexy, how about giving me your number! I looked at her and said, "Have you got a pen?" She said, "I sure do." I said, " Well, you better get back into it before the farmer notices you're missing." A third - Husband calling wife from hospital: Wife - Hello ? "Honey it's me. I don't want to alarm you but I was hit by a car as I was leaving the office. Paula brought me to the hospital. They have checked me over and done some tests and some x-rays. > The blow to my head was severe. Fortunately it did not cause any serious internal injury. However I have three broken ribs, a compound fracture in the left leg, and they think they may have to amputate my right foot. Wife - "Who is Paula?" And if you find that hard to believe, you've never been married A fourth - A farmer named Clyde had a car accident. In court, the trucking company’s fancy lawyer was questioning Clyde. “Didn’t you say, at the scene of the accident, I’m fine” asked the lawyer. Clyde responded, “Well, I’ll tell you what happened, I had just loaded my favorite mule, Bessie…” “I didn’t ask for any details”, the lawyer interrupted. “Just answer the question. Did you not say, at the scene of the accident, I’m fine” Clyde said, “Well, I had just got Bessie into the trailer and I was driving down the road…..” The lawyer interrupted again and said, “Judge, I am trying to establish the fact that, at the scene of the accident, this man told the Highway Patrolman on the scene that he was just fine. Now several weeks after the accident he is trying to sue my client. I believe he is a fraud. Please tell him to simply answer the question.” By this time, the Judge was fairly interested in Clydes answer and said to the lawyer, “I’d like to hear what he has to say about his favorite mule, Bessie”. Clyde thanked the Judge and proceeded. “Well as I was saying, I had just loaded Bessie, my favorite mule, into the trailer and was driving her down the highway when this huge semi-truck and trailer ran the stop sign and smacked my truck right in the side. I was thrown into one ditch and Bessie was thrown into the other. I was hurting, real bad and didn’t want to move. However, I could hear ole Bessie moaning and groaning. I knew she was in terrible shape just by her groans. Shortly after the accident a Highway Patrolman came on the scene. He could hear Bessie moaning and groaning so he went over to her. After he looked at her, and saw her fatal condition, he took out his gun and shot her between the eyes. Then the Patrolman came across the road, gun still in hand, looked at me and said, “How are you feeling?” “Now what the hell would you say?”

You have got to be shitting me!!! This from someone who professes fealty to an imaginary man in the sky, and uses a book of 2000 year old fables that has been rewritten over and over again, as their main source of information on how to live life? That would be some funny shit, if it wasn't so pathetic and hypocritical.

Rolling stone reaches new level up stupidity.
funjumper101 replied to regulator's topic in Speakers Corner
Rolling Stone also has great political writers like Tim Dickinson. The excellent Matt Taibbi has moved on, which is too bad. His blog and articles are still up at http://www.rollingstone.com/contributor/matt-taibbi It sounds like the publisher has yet to find a good replacement for Matt. -
It is about time something was done to stop the bullshit regulations inflicted upon providers of medical services for women, services that can include abortion. The House members who vote against the bill can explain to 1/2 of their constituents what their reasoning was. Slate has a nice write up here - http://www.slate.com/blogs/xx_factor/2014/07/15/women_s_health_protection_act_a_brilliant_bill_to_protect_women_s_abortion.html The bill itself can be viewed here - https://beta.congress.gov/bill/113th-congress/senate-bill/1696 Freedom from oppressive government regulations is supposed to be a Conservative value. The reality is that this value only applies to males of white, northern European ancestry. Women and people of color are not included.

Having an inability to separate Democratic/Republican from Conservative/Liberal is not a sign of advanced education. Quite the opposite. The concept that ending slavery was the right thing to do was not a Conservative idea. It was a progressive/liberal idea. The concept of women's suffrage was and is not, in any way, a Conservative idea. It was and is 100% progressive/liberal. The concept of civil rights and equal access to public accommodations was and is not, in any way, a Conservative idea. It was and is 100% progressive/liberal. Try not to be confuddled by the right wing Conservative propaganda. The lack of factual information provided can make one think patently ridiculous things, for example, that the current POTUS is a Kenyan Muslim, without a valid birth certificate. -

It never fails to amaze me how utterly ignorant Conservatives are. Nowhere in what I wrote did I say anything about political parties. Conservative/progressive are not political parties. This is basic, factual information. Way beyond the comprehension of some people, unfortunately. -

The consistent, deliberate lying by Conservatives gets really old. There are many medical uses for birth control pills that have nothing to do with contraception. Two of my sisters have been on BC for years to control issues with their hormone cycles that produce serious behavior issues when they have their period. Depression, anger, uncontrollable rage, etc, is well managed by being on the pill. The treatment and the results are of great benefit to them, their husbands, and their children. Medical insurance pays for Cialis and Viagra. Why would it noy pay for BC? The hypocrisy of Conservatives never fails to amaze me. In theory, freedom from unwanted government intrusion into one's personal life, liberty, and personal responsibility are supposed to be bedrock values for Conservatives. Over and over again, Conservatives make 100% clear that these values apply only to white males of Northern European ancestry. Other races, and all women, are not subject to these values. Due to the practical application of Conservative philosophy, in some states, women are subject to severe government intrusion into their personal, private medical decisions. They are subject to mandatory, unnecessary medical procedures in the hopes of altering decisions that they have made. Nothing close to that level of intrusion is inflicted on men. Conservatives would never allow that. They would flip out completely. Nothing positive for US society has ever come about via the practical application of Conservative values. Women would not be able to vote, would not be able to own real estate in their own names, or have their own credit history. Slavery would never have been ended. The Jim Crow laws would still be in effect. -

When the people who have no understanding of the US Constitution follow the directives of the Anti-American "news" organizations, for example, Faux Spews, and makes stupid claims about "free speech" on an issue between a person and their employer. For the uneducated folks out there, do some research on the issue of "free speech" and you will find that it does NOT apply in the employee/employer relationship. A good example of this is the woman in one of the parasite states in the south. She was fired by her private employer for having a pro Democrat bumper sticker on her car. It was an Obama presidential sticker, IIRC. The employer demanded that she remove the bumper sticker. She refused and was fired. The firing was upheld. This was totally wrong, if you believe in the ideals of the Constitution. It has helped establish an ugly precedent that is a stain of filth on this country. At the time, the conservatives here supported the employer, not the citizen. Religious beliefs, and the writings in the Bible, were used to justify the continued practice of slavery. These same beliefs have morphed into the insane Hobby Lobby SCOTUS decision. History will judge harshly the Roberts court and it's anti citizen, pro corporation decisions. Taking freedom AWAY from individuals, and giving greater rights to non- person legal entities (corporations) is wrong. If you want to live you life based on a book of fables, have at it. Don't try to force that way of life on others. Mind your own business. It should be obvious. -
Courageous Americans confront illegal immigrants
funjumper101 replied to jclalor's topic in Speakers Corner
You know billvon, your rather frequent attempts to patronize me and some others really reduces my respect for you. I have stated it before but you seem to gravitate in that direction naturally. My post, that you reference, is about local people in my area and what we discuss. Think about it. So the people in your area... that discuss the last two elections.... can't figure out the system of government and the electoral college that the founding fathers set in place??? It is hard to be profoundy ignorant of basic facts, unless you surround yourself with people who are as profoundly ignorant as you are. Unless one associates with intelligent, educated, well informed people, ignorance can be hard to avoid. You can end up believing patently ridiculous things like BHO is a rabid Socialist, and has no respect for the US Constitution. You could end up believing that the Social Security and Medicare systems pay out only those benefits that you paid into the system, with no other taxpayers subsidizing your SOCIALIST government benefits. Some people lead a blissful existence... not related to their religious beliefs. -
Courageous Americans confront illegal immigrants
funjumper101 replied to jclalor's topic in Speakers Corner
RonD1120 paid taxes when he worked to support his Medicare. RonD1120 is not able to complete his reassignment in the VA medical system. He is on a waiting list. Why is that? Do you think maybe too much money is being diverted for illegal immigrant welfare? Blithering ignorance about American history is one thing. (See Christian persecution thread) Blithering ignorance about the Socialist government programs one shamefully participates in, while publicly railing about "socialism" here, is about as rank as conservative hypocrisy gets. Medicare and Social Security are NOT pay in now, collect benefits you paid at a later time kind of systems. Current revenue pays current benefits, with some current revenue set aside into a trust fund. All reputable economists report that a person receiving benefits now, based on their projected lifespan, will receive far MORE in benefits than that person paid into the system. These FACTS are why conservative politicians often describe Ron's favorite Socialist programs as "Ponzi schemes". A reality check of the book that "Christians" use to run their life is attached. Anyone who bases their life on a sketchy publication like the KJNT needs some serious therapy. -
+1 +1000 How come the same conservative MEN who rail about unwanted government intrusion into their personal and business lives are the exact same MEN that are all in favor of unwanted government intrusion into a woman's personal medical decisions? Could it be that they are hypocritical and inconsistent in their so called "beliefs"? In other words, the so called deeply held beliefs are actually quite shallow, and don't include the female half of the population. Nothing positive for society has ever come about via conservative philosophy. ALL of the progress US society has made has come about due to liberal/progressive philosophy. Nothing good has happened in society due to conservative philosophy. NOT A DAMN THING!! For the dumb shits here, conservative is NOT equal to Republican, and Democratic is NOT equal to Liberal/Progressive. For those that are familiar with history, this is quite obvious.

Do you mean like slavery and segregation? Perhaps you need to (re)take the high school class "introduction to American government" Imagine a grammar school some where in Michigan, with a Muslim Majority, your head would explode if a Christian child there was forced to say an Islamic prayer every morning before class. Slavery and segregation! That is an anachronism. But seriously, IMO, I don't believe strong Christian parents would allow their child in a public school with a Muslim majority. That is especially unlikely if the child was "forced" to repeat Islamic prayers. Again, call Andy9o8, that is how he earns professional fees. Here is a tough question for you, Ron. Just how exactly did slavery and segregation come to be an anachronism? Here is another tough question for you, Ron. Why would it be necessary for "strong Christian parents" to remove their children from public schools that have a Muslim majority? Here is the third tough question for you. How is it that a Muslim or Jewish child is expected, by some people, to tolerate and participate in Christian prayers in public schools? Keep in mind that, by your own words, no "strong Christian parents" would allow their children to be forced to tolerate and participate in another religion's prayers in public schools. I look forward to your well reasoned answers to my challenging questions.

Did they broadcast anything today? They did, so the answer is clearly YES.

No, I really have that ACCURATE an analysis of the Canadian tar sands oil, and what should be done with it. It is shitty, marginal crude, loaded with contaminants. If Canada wants to produce such a product, they can keep it inside their country, and deal with it themselves. They can build pipelines to move it inside Canada. They can build refineries to process it. If the Canadian oil producers can't figure out how to do that, in a way that meets Canadian environmental and financial regulations, and still make a profit, then they should leave the oil where it is. It is asinine to consider allowing an adjacent country to export and transport a filthy product thousands of miles to processing facilities that aren't capable of safely handling the filthy crude. The risks to the USA, and its citizens, far outweighs the benefits. The only people making a lot of money on this deal are transnational oil companies. Screw that shit. Canada can keep and process their own filthy crude. If Canadian citizens won't stand for it, why should we? Well informed people aren't that stupid. Unfortunately, well informed people are becoming fewer and fewer as Faux Spews and other corporate owned media lies, cheats and deceives the average citizen. Total bullshit, plausibly presented, and the suckers fall for it. It is shameful.
-
This sounds like the correct answer, to me. The contaminated dirty oil produced in Canada will be handled by a Canadian pipeline to move it to where it needs to go in Canada. The risks and costs will remain in the country of origin of the oil. That is EXACTLY what should happen. The dirty oil won't cross the border into the USA, move through a pipeline across one of the biggest aquifers and some of the most productive farmland in the USA. Once the oil made it to the Gulf Coast, the existing Keystone pipeline plans do not have any restrictions as to what is done with the oil. It could be refined into more saleable products, then sold to the highest bidder, US based, or not. It could be exported via tanker, for refining elsewhere. The sum total of the Keystone boondoggle is that the USA would have a pipeline across the middle of the county, with all of the risks that entails, for the benefit of international oil companies bottom line. There is no reduction in energy cost for the US energy consumer by requiring that the oil and refined products remain in the USA, to be sold only to US distributors, and consumed in the USA. Taking on the envoirmental costs of Keystone, with no actual benefit to the average US citizen, is a classic example of how badly the government is controlled by corporate interests. We aren't going to get squat out of the Keystone deal. The international corporations will make billions. We, the people, will pay to clean up any spills from the pipeline. Internalize the profits, externalize the costs. Classic big business strategy that has flourished under the guise of "conservatism". In case you hadn't noticed, this heinous reality is really bad for the average person in the USA.
-
In the "Christian" community, the actions of the town officials is completely acceptable. In the USA, for those that believe in the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, the actions of the town officials is both despicable, and unconstitutional. Freedom OF religion is supposed to be a bedrock of the freedoms we enjoy here in the USA. How do the "Conservatives" here explain this fundamental violation of the freedoms enshrined in the Constitution? Ron, maybe you can explain why this disregard for US law and customs is considered to be acceptable, from a "Christian" perspective. From a true believer in the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, this heinous violation of the law needs to be met with fierce and overwhelming force to punt those evil doers from public office. My contribution to the ACLU and the Pagan group will be going out today. For the "conservatives" here, I challenge you all to put your money where your mouths are and contribute as well. Freedom is costly, and sometimes quite annoying. You have to tolerate other people who don't think and live like you do, and you have no right to try to force your beliefs on them.

For those that are massively ignorant of history, the program that Obama has put in place is right out of the Republican playbook. Cap and Trade is a REPUBLICAN idea, first proposed by Republicans, to put in place a MARKET DRIVEN trading place for the right to pollute. The more a company plans to pollute, the more they pay for the privilege to do so. It is up to the companies to determine if paying for hardware to clean up emissions, or paying for pollutions credits, makes better business sense. This was a big deal to the Republicans, not so long ago. As usual, when the socialist black dude in that is now POTUS actually adopts something that the Republicans originally proposed, and the Democrats opposed at the time, the Republicans are all instantly opposed to their own ideas and policies. How do you explain these facts, Marc? Any other conservative followers care to take a crack at explaining why ideas and policies that start out from Republican origins magically become evil when the current POTUS comes out in favor of the ideas/policies? I expect a profound silence, as there is no rational explanation for such behavior.

Jim Perry's Helio Stallion. Photos?
funjumper101 replied to Sped's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Didn't Jim Perry also have another Stallion that was at Skydance in Davis in the early 90's, as well as at the WFFC in 1993? I made several jumps out of it at both locations. IIRC, he also had a Helio Courier that he put a 420hp Allison turboprop on. He had that airplane at Davis at the same time. On a very breezy day he was playing around with it a bit. A takeoff was performed across the width of the runway, with a climbout that could best be described at near vertical. The takeoff roll was directly into the wind, for all of about 15', then up very steeply. At about 250' or so, an attempted pitchover produced about a half rotation spin entry, which was recovered without much loss of altitude. A very impressive display of raw power and STOL capability, along with some quick reflexes by the pilot.
