Thank you very much! It`s everything I hoped It would be!
-
Okay, I guess not. Then does anybody know where I can purchase some nice videos with lots of points?
-
Does anybody have (and want to share) any 2-way video? Something with around 10 points would be really great to study!

How much do your teammates load their canopies?
-
You meen team BC, and no they had to quit after the landing accident. One of them will however coach us next year, wich is great. They were jumping Diamant 160, wich I think is to big and slow for doing 2-way... We are currently choosing between Triathlon 120 and 99. We would then be loading the 99 with 1.8. Do you think the 99 would be too small to handle? (regarding tension in formation).

Thanks TVPB! Our rotation team is really skilled, but sequentials is not their cup of tea. I think we will go for regular lightnings next year, and after some hundreds of jumps we`ll buy faster canopies. Maybe the switchblade is avavible for everyone then. Maybe I`ll see you in 2007! Cheers

A Come on! I don´t mean to be an ass right now, but I think anybody who has done more than one crw or any type of jump realise that too. Of course we will have the same type of canopies and wingloading. I`ve heard that the triathlon is better for rotations than sequential. Is that true? Pls, anybody who has experience from different canopies answer.
-
We are considering a quite serious team, that will jump the next least 3 years. So hybrid canopies with nice flare is not a priority... What type of crw are you talking about? bigway? I haven`t seen that many sequential teams at all, only rotations. And those guys like to go fast with a loading of 1.9. Is it the same with 2-way sequential? The faster the better? (to a certain limit of course).
-
Is it just the lightning, or is there any other choice, really? What wingloading and trim do you think will be the best?

A friend of mine saw an awesome photo of a team called "bad wrap" doing an exit that really came out messy. I don`t remember who was where doing what, but the photo sounded really extraordinary, and I really like to find it. I`ve searched everywhere, but can`t seem to find it... Does anybody have an idea of what I`m talking about?
-
Well, I can see why they downsize, but is that standard sizes? Can everybody order those, or just is it just for the sponsored teams? The smallest lightning on Pd`s homepage is still 126...
-
I've probably got less than 50 jumps total on 113's without links and I HATE it! The links stay permanently.... I can't stand jumping 113's without extra links...*** Lightning 113? Is there such a size?

Wanting To Learn .. Long And Boring, my opinions
Calle replied to Jumpmunki's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
"i've even biffed on it doing a 360 very low" -weeee... I dont want to be naggy, but wtf? There is a reason people tell you to gather some canopy time before doing stunts like that. In Sweden we have a rule for hookturns that says you must have at least 500 jumps before your first hookturn. Again, for a reason. In that way, thousands of people will be pissed off becouse they cant hookturn, and maybe one life will be saved. My advise to you is to get a canopy you like, in a size that doesnt scare you and fly it until its falling apart. I`ve jumped my current canopy size for 500 jumps, and will be jumping it until I feel i know it. Seeing someone in a canopy, whatever the size is, not beeing able to control it does not impress anyone (except whuffos). Seeing someone who actually know their canopy inside out even if its a monster huge maverick, thats impressive! -
Ok, low altitude. That is one reason not to cutaway. However, only this boogie there where two incidents like this and I`m sure we will see theese things increase in number and occasions. Pulling the reserve only IS dangerous. Sure, it´s better than beeing flat, but the best thing, according to me is never getting in the situation when you have to choose between two bad things. You wrote that you pulled at 3000 ft. That gives you about six seconds (with the wings collapsed, full track even more). I suggest you use a fraction of the time you used to get your main out to cutaway next time. You also wrote that you did not consider the main canopy as a threat. I hope that you don`t get in this situation again, but if you do, have fear of the canopies getting entangled, and think about what happends when you are in a solo downplane that you can`t get rid of. Be prepared. /Blue skies

I asked if anyone knew any reason at all not to cutaway. Just saying someone is experienced does not justify this, according to me, stupid action. Yes, there is a chance of the main chute to tangle up in the reserve, so why not cutaway? Just assuming that it will do alright anyway does not sound sane. Do NOT mix up experience with doing the right thing, always. I also heard one of theese incidents ended up in a biplane. The guy tried to flare it, and would have gotten in a nice downplane with himself, if he had done this higher than 3 feet. So once again, does anyone know any REAL reason not to cutaway? (Assuming high alt.) /Blue skies

I was`nt at the hercules boogie myself, but many of my friends speak about at least two incidents, when birdmen did not cutaway ther main and just used their reserve when the shit hit the fan. This resulted, of course, in landing their two canopies. I wonder why? Seems pretty dangerous to me...
