  1. When I inspect and repack a reserve for a customer, I won't necessarily do a full inspection of every main (unless I suspect a problem or am asked to do so). I do, however, hang up every main that comes through the loft. I have known a few people (riggers) that have hooked up a main backwards or inverted; unintentionally of course. While I am in the process of re-connecting the main, I will look over the main at no charge. I will charge $10 for a full inspection of the main (incl. trim check.) J.
  2. Here in the US, according to the FAA, a seatbelt must be worn during taxi, takeoff, and landing. There is no FAA rule saying to what altitude you must have your seatbelt on. At MHSC in Longmont, CO, we have a rule of keeping seatbelts on until 1,000AGL, no exceptions! In addition to that, jumpers may not move from their positions in the aircraft until 2,000AGL. In all reality, after takeoff, it needs to be decided by a competent S+TA, DZO, or DZM. J.
  3. Heck yeah... Also I have seen several people (myself included) not get hurt by riser slaps thanks to a frap hat. Is a hard helmet better? YES!! But a frap hat is better than nothing. J.
  4. The quote: Is from page 2 of the SIMS I downloaded from the USPA website. J.
  5. Just to remind everyone, this is directly out of the SIMS: "Regardless of any statements made in any USPA publications, USPA has neither been given nor has it assumed any duty to anyone. USPA has no obligation to anyone concerning his or her skydiving activities." J. Go Team BELLAS!!!
