  3. Just wondering to see what you all use, or think is the best solution for lens fog? I searched the forums and found a few posts referring to Catcrap by GlassSafe, and a few others that use Rain-X. Thanks Rylord Kentucky Skydiving Center
  4. So the PC109 D-Boxes are ready for purchase and ready to ship? If so, I will call and place my order - but if I order and have to wait...that's not cool. Thanks Rylord Kentucky Skydiving Center
  5. Two weeks ago Bonehead told me that the D-Box for the PC109 would be ready in 2 weeks. Last Friday (August 20th), I called Bonehead again, and they said that the D-Box for the PC109 would be ready in another 4-6 weeks (Mid-late September). Rylord Kentucky Skydiving Center

  7. Not sure if this is of any help to you or not. But I went to Adobe's website and looked at the Adobe Premiere's DV device compatibility database. The Sony PC9 is not listed as being compatible with the built-in DV support in Adobe Premiere. Here is the link to check it out: Click Here Not certain if this helps you out or not, but I thought I'd mention it. Rylord Kentucky Skydiving Center
  8. I can attest that Butterflyphoto in NY gave me very professional and reliable/quick service. I recently purchased a Sony PC109 for $630 (list price $899). I ordered it on a Thursday at 2pm, and it arrived at my house in KY the very next day (Friday) at 10am. I am not affliated with any of the below listed sites. I did some research online and read alot of user reviews before deciding who I purchased with. I found the following online businesses to be highly rated and very professional/reliable: B&H Photo Video Dbuys Butterflyphoto I found the following online sites to be a good reference in comparing prices, and to read online user reviews: PriceGrabber CNet Shopper.Com StreetPrices epinions CNet Reviews Rylord Kentucky Skydiving Center

  10. Just wondering if I could get some advice from any of the camera flyers that are using the Sony PC109? What settings do you use on your PC109 camcoder?Do you use the Easy Handycam mode? If not, what manual settings are you setting your PC109 to when jumping it to film tandem videos? I'm looking for the optimal settings to get the best quality video footage. Thanks in advance. 13. I started out with static-line...but any skydive is a good skydive. Some prefer SL and others prefer AFF. I've never done a tandem - but it might be a good choice to get familiar with skydiving from full altitude and having not much to do on your first jump. Welcome and good luck. 14. This November will be my 15th wedding anniversary. Met my wife and married her in Wiesbaden, Germany, where we were both stationed together with the US military. She's originally from Texas and served 11 years in the US Air Force, and I'm originally from Indiana - serving 18 1/2 years in the US Army. The past 15 years have been the best years of my life...with the exception of numerous deployments spent away from my wife and our home. My wife is my true love, best-friend and definitely....the sunshine of my life. Congratulations on your 10 year wedding anniversary! Time flies by quickly....enjoy and cherish every moment! They have a few extra experienced skydiver rigs at the DZ (Kentucky Skydiving Center) I know they do loan or rent (not sure which ,because I have my own gear) them out during the day. They also have quite a few student rigs that are setup for freefall jumps as well. Here is the email address to contact the DZO's if you want to send them an email and ask about using a rig: info@kentuckyskydivingcenter.com Rylord Kentucky Skydiving Center

From the conversations I've had with them, along with the videos they have shown me...they are base jumpers. As far as the Bridge Day event...I am not certain if they have been there. Personally, I would be very interested in going and doing that. Recently one of our DZ members (who is a die-hard base jumper) just moved down to New Mexico. Not sure if he has a dropzone.com account or not. Rylord Kentucky Skydiving Center
  17. Hahaha - yeah I know, I know. I just moved down to KIN-tucky 2 years ago. I must say...I really like Kentucky, the people are very friendly and laid back, and the weather down here is much better than up north. And I really must confess...living down here has washed away years of thinking Kentucky was the backwoods of America. Rylord Kentucky Skydiving Center

Absolutely, I agree. Wasn't my intention, but I wanted to post so that he may contact me...and I can give him the contact info for some of the base jumpers at KSC. We have quite a few base jumpers that are regular DZ members where I skydive. I don't base jump - but would like to try sometime. Thanks Rylord Kentucky Skydiving Center

    Factory Diver

Bought my helmet "used" about one year ago, and fell in love with it. Very well made and provides excellent protection without limiting my side view. The factory diver helmet fits like a glove and is very comfortable while in freefall. Never had any issues with it moving around or feeling loose since it fits very nicely. I do not wear the helmet with the visor, but instead wear a pair of googles underneath leaving the visor off...that way I can switch fast/easily between clear lens or dark lens goggles depending on the weather (sunny or cloudy). I have jumped with this helmet all winter long and endured 10-20F degree altitude temperatures and much colder wind chill temps....and my factory diver kept my head warm and my head/face never felt cold. I highly recommend this helmet. If I ever buy another helmet in the future...it will be a factor diver (even if I have to get another used one).
  23. Thanks all...much appreciated. Rylord Kentucky Skydiving Center
  24. Newbie question.... Seeking advice from experienced skydive videographers....How much jump experience would you recommend a skydiver have under his/her belt before they start to make the transition into jumping with a camera and doing beginner skydiving video's? Thanks in advance. Rylord Kentucky Skydiving Center
