Have any of you as new jumpers ever gotten the 20 something jump jitters? I made number 24 today and have my A license for a month or so now. All thru AFF & Coach jumps I was fine, couldnt wait for the breeze between my knees. Then WHAM! jump #22 I wanted to ride the plane down...DJ, my s/o threatened to throw me out the door (nicely) I went on my own and am glad I did. Jump #23 was great, my first rodeo jump and I had a blast. Then today on jump #24 my mouth was incredibly dry on the ride up, had no problem in the door, jump went good, but towards the end of freefall I couldnt breathe. I have heard of this happening to brand new jumpers on jumps 1 or 2 but never this far into it. It was so bad that I huffed & puffed almost my entire canopy ride trying to catch my breath. I have been really bummed about this, b/c I truly love jumping. I have been jumping for 4 months now and am also a bit discouraged b/c due to job & home obligations I can only make it to the dz once or twice a week for jumps. It seems as if I am always spinning my wheels. Any input would be greatly appreciated!

When I was still in AFF my S/O did a simaler thing to me. We had my canopy hanging b/c he was showing me how to inspect, when suddenly he starts the "oh my gosh" thing about the port holes. He knew better but was trying to get a rise out of me. Instead I got really bummed & almost started crying, cause this was my "new" used canopy & there was no way I could afford to replace it. In turn he felt like doo doo.

yeah crossing TX sucks! Ive done it twice. once moving to ElPaso from Jacksonville, FL & then again moving from Lubbock TX to Tampa FL...that is one big friggin state! A bit of trivia for you...you can fit 11 of the states inside the state of TX with 100 mile to spare...cant remeber which 11 it is thou... My S/O could tell you he's a native TX'n. Glad you made it to FL okay, I sure wish I was back there!

thanks for all of the opinions & my first flamin thread! I will probably get the rig b/c I am totally obsessed with skydiving. I am comfortable with my bod, but Im also in search for the perfect neck-breaking bod too. I dont have a way to post a pic here, for those of you asking, but if you were at the Richmond boogie, you might have saw them then....

Just wanted ya'll opinion.... I have been saving for quite sometime and until I got into skydiving it was "my boobie fund" I am one of those unfortunate people who was not blessed with boobs. However now, I am completely torn! Boobs or a new rig....what do you think?

I have been all over the place, FL, LA, IN, TX, GA & I am only 28!

I like em both, I lived in W. TX for 6 years and vanilla coke is huge out there. Vanilla pepsi over ice tastes more like the fountain drink you get in TX. But either way I like em both.

the ar-71 is a ZP, it does have VERY crisp openings, then only way I have found to have a somewhat gentl opening is to have it packed A) w/o the brakes stowed or B) by pyscho packing it. I did not come here to question my S/O, I know he loves me & only has my best interest in mind. However he & another instructor at our dz got into a friendly heated debate over this very thing. The other instructor is an I/E as well as a S & TA. HE thought I would be fine, so I am just looking for further opinion.

here's the deal... I recently bought my first new canopy ( a Triathalon 160) My sig other who is a coach, & static line /IAD instructor says he doesnt want me jumping it yet b/c I am not ready. I am currently jumping a SR-71 170 made by PISA. I am 5'2, 117 lbs and have 22 jumps. My in air canopy control is great, but my landings are still a bit hinky (but not bad) I have had several other instructors who have many years in the sport tell me I would be fine. What is your opinion? Thanks!

hehe..thanks for the walk down memory lane... I really miss the 80's... we can't forget... break-dancing big hair & glam rock bands...(I still love Poison!) -
I think I am going to try out Skydive Wayne County ( thats where the Richmond boogie is right?) I was out there and they seem like awesome people. Very much a like to jump & have fun kinda place. They also have the drop-out club which is for college students. Anyhow, thanks for the warm welcome!
