  3. Super duper awesome congrats are due to the boys who managed the HUGE record attempts (and successes) in the tunnel. It was amazing to watch but I'll admit , it was even more fun to participate in the ladies record! I was so proud of all the ladies in the record. We had such a wide range of skill levels from someone just learning to sit fly the night before, to sit flying queens lol! We got in there, made a round and flew that sucker! What a great time. Special thanks to XP staff, Kirk, Tim, and Colleen for allowing us to attempt to break/set world records! I am very thankful for an awesome weekend
  4. Some of us have been there through the staff changes and new air straightener, and are tired of having our suggestions or comments fall on deaf ears. You can only suggest the same thing so many times before you feel like a broken record or a neusence. There has been lots of great talk at the tunnel over the years but results have failed to materialize. The best predictor of future behavior is past behavior. I can honestly say I was embarrassed to have Tunnel For The Cause at Orlando this year because of the air straightener and how long it was broken. EVERY participant was extremely disappointed with how poorly the tunnel was taken care of and maintained for the event. Even with the changes in staff (agree or disagree with the changes, it really doesn't matter), there are very few instructors who advanced flyers can learn from. This is the main reason I am not spending my dollar there. When you are limited to 1 or so coaches, it makes training regularly difficult. Not to mention the fact, SVO had billing issues and they are trying to collect money from flyers that was refunded or never charged. The error was SVO's computer's fault yet they are expecting the flyers to make up for their mistake. From an SVO's employees mouth, Marc honestly thinks that the people who had the billing errors were purposely withholding money from SVO. What a joke, had the error not been brought up to me, I would have never known there was a problem. I've fought and stuck up for SVO for so long but when you aren't the only tunnel in the country, but still operate as if you are, there are going to be problems. 5. I second that! I live 10 minutes from the Orlando tunnel but have been to XP 3/4 weekends (including this weekend coming up). Not spending another dime at Orlando because of how far down hill things have gone. Such a shame. Tunnel Pink Mafia Delegate www.TunnelPinkMafia.com
  6. Well, we fly at midnight Saturday (officially Sunday morning) so I'm not sure if that works out with your schedule. Jenn and I will be at the tunnel Friday night, all day and night Saturday, and possibly Sunday morning. If you feel like meeting up but can't make the fly time, we'll just be chillin at the tunnel and would love some company who knows the area and might be able to show us a good place or two, to go to On a side note...I NEVER go to a tunnel without gear. You never know what may happen Hopefully I'll see ya soon. Back to the books for me, one last final today then I'm FREE for the weekend
  7. Oh yes, come play with us and have fun with our Barbie's! I'm sure you'll love the new tunnel, instructors, and staff. Sure to be pink parties, girlie trouble, and the like! Tunnel Pink Mafia Delegate www.TunnelPinkMafia.com

  9. Man, I used to be real good about logging how many hours I had, but school got in the way big time of keeping track for the last year. Now I'd say I'm around 140 hours. Working at XP on HD stuff and learning to fly the fun fast air. Tunnel Pink Mafia Delegate www.TunnelPinkMafia.com
  10. See ya Feb 8th! How fun! We'll have to fly together this time

  20. Hell ya, I was wondering when the air was going to start flowing. CONGRATS! Tunnel Pink Mafia Delegate www.TunnelPinkMafia.com
  21. I haven't jumped in almost 2-3 years. I'm exclusively in the tunnel and love it! I enjoy flying my body for hours on end, you simply can't do that in the sky. I'll fly 90 minutes in one day and eat that shit up. It's pretty tough to make 90 skydives in one day however (unless you have lots of money for your jumps, packers, extra rigs, plane, pilot, and general help). Things you can't get when skydiving... -Unlimited Freefall. -No packing parachutes. -No weather holds. -No waiting to get on a load or plane. -Improve your freefall skills in 2+ minute intervals (if you can do it in the tunnel, you can do it in the air). -Comparing minute to minute, tunnel time is about half the cost of a skydive. 22. The tunnel is fun, TONS of fun but very turbulent. It's a tough one to fly but if you can fly it, you can fly anything. It does a college tour so it is very much so geared to the non jumper. That doesn't mean that jumpers won't love it. I know I do (not that I jump anymore lol)! Hay bales won't do jack for the noise I don't think. The thing is loud but not terrible- at Deland it was put over by the trailer park and you could not hear it from the packing hanger. I believe they have used semi trailers to block the noise before. Your best bet is to call and talk to Patrick, the owner, and ask him these questions. Tunnel Pink Mafia Delegate www.TunnelPinkMafia.com

  24. I highly suggest you contact Mick Nuttall at SkyVenture AZ. He'll take care of all your needs. Please note the tunnel progression and flying in the tunnel is different than in the sky. If you can sit fly in the sky it's a great start but won't mean you are able to do it in the tunnel right away. The progression that anyone has to go through is belly, back, sit, then hd. It's highly unlikely that you would be working on hd transitions without any previous tunnel time. A coach is priceless and Mick is one of the best out there.
