I second everything the above posters say. Flyaway Las Vegas is one of my top 3 tunnels and I LOVE GOING THERE! How can you beat Vegas when there's a tunnel there also? You can fly your ass off during the day and into the night, then hit up the clubs and do the Vegas night life. I miss everyone out there so Ari and I are planning another trip sooner than later. PM me if you are interested in heading out there with us. We're shooting for May again for our B-days. I'll be sure to keep anyone who is interested posted on our dates and such. I just wanted to jump in here and volunteer that more coaches and tunnels DID get involved this year than last year. Bodyflight Bedford represented BIG time with a $300+ donation Flyaway Indoor Skydiving Las Vegas represented even bigger with a $500+ donation and of course John Suiter currently with Appalachian Amusement Center donated his tips too 'for the cause.

Orlando has the largest staff of instructors and hires often. They just got done with a big round of hiring. You should get them your resume asap so you don't miss out again. This year ANY tunnel could participate in TFTC . I emailed all the tunnel owners I knew but only received responses from Mick an instructor in Eloy. Maybe next year, more tunnels and coaches can get involved. This year, coaches were asked to donate their services & fees for students they had on October 13th. Instructors would charge students a discounted rate of $50 for coaching, and they were asked to donate that amt. or a portion of their coaching fees (they could charge whatever they'd like but I suggested $50). Next year, we are looking to expand. Since this is, for the most part, a one woman show (me doing the vast majority of the work) and ALL funds for goodies and extras coming out of my pocket, expansion will come slow. I will add new elements each year but not too many. I need to be able to measure the success or failure of the new ventures. I also need to keep track of donations coming in and what they are used for. The IRS will knock on my door if there are any discrepencies or if money was collected but not given to the cause (say we collected money on the basis of it being donated to the cause but went to pay for tunnel time or something like that). I'll be sure to keep everyone posted and start a thread early if we are going to go global in 2007

If you missed the Freak Fly BOOgie this year...you missed one hell of a good time. The fall leaves and mountains made for beautiful photos and scenery. The tunnel ran non stop; we all flew like mad all weekend

Get a good coach. From your descriptions, we can all guess at what you are asking, but it will be best diagnosed by a coach who see's you fly and who can work with you. You use very different muscles when tunnel flying. It's at least doubling the time you spend in an arch (if not more). Your body isn't used to that, give it more tunnel time and stretching. If you are going to Eloy, I would HIGHLY recommend Mick Nuttall of the BodyPilots. He's one of the most innovative and skillful tunnel flyers at the dz. He's a super amazing coache and really easy to get along with. Nothing beats Mick's smile and enthusiasm. Also, Mick and Jason placed first in the open class of the tunnel comp so they are bad ass flyers.
