I seldom post....I was a newbie years back and still love to check in now and again. Hope no one minds this post, it's for a great cause :) I know that everybody and their brother is raising money for something, I am no exception. I don’t sell Girl Scout cookies, popcorn, candy or gift wrap but I do have a "cause". No offense taken if you choose to pass…but maybe take a lookie before you say no Please follow the link to my Team36 page. I am supporting the Dave Bolland Foundation to help kids and would appreciate any support. I am particularly excited about raising money for the Easter Seals Sledge Hockey (sled hockey) programs. It is currently one of the most popular sports in the Paralympic Games. BTW, you don’t need to be a Blackhawks fan…just want to help a great cause! Something else that is pretty cool...if (when) we hit the $600 mark I'm told I may have a Dave Bolland signed practive jersey to raffle off to my donors WAY COOL! http://grouprev.com/peggygrandahl?saved=1 But it’s a darn good one. Thanks, everyone _______________________________________

Please "reach out to xxxx" if you need info. Reach out is a big one where. I work. Makes me crazy. Oh yeah, big one for our sales team: Let's get in "high, wide and deep" with our customers. That just sounds dirty. Thank God for the mute button on the phone for conference calls, lol. _______________________________________ -
I have not posted in a while, but wanted tp share. Someone sent me this story in an email and it checks out in snopes.com....this is very touching and very amazing..... Our 14 year old dog, Abbey, died last month. The day after she died, my 4 year old daughter Meredith was crying and talking about how much she missed Abbey. She asked if we could write a letter to God so that when Abbey got to heaven, God would recognize her. She dictated and I wrote: Dear God, Will you please take special care of our dog, Abbey? She died yesterday and is in heaven. We miss her very much. We are happy that you let us have her as our dog even though she got sick. I hope that you will play with her.She liked to play with balls and swim before she got sick. I am sending some pictures of her so that when you see her in heaven you will know she is our special dog. But I really do miss her. Love, Meredith Claire P.S. Mommy wrote the words after Meredith told them to her. We put that in an envelope with two pictures of Abbey, and addressed it to God in Heaven. We put our return address on it. Then Meredith stuck some stamps on the front (because, as she said, it may take lots of stamps to get a letter all the way to heaven) and that afternoon I let her drop it into the letter box at the post office. For a few days, she would ask if God had gotten the letter yet. I told her that I thought He had. Yesterday there was a package wrapped in gold paper on our front porch. Curious, I went to look at it. It had a gold star card on the front and said "To Meredith" in an unfamiliar hand. Meredith took it in and opened it. Inside was a book by Mr. Rogers, "When a Pet Dies". Taped to the inside front cover was the letter we had written to God, in its opened envelope (which was marked Return to Sender: Insufficient address). On the opposite Page, one of the pictures of Abbey was taped under the words "For Meredith". We turned to the back cover, and there was the other picture of Abbey, and this handwritten note on pink paper: Dear Meredith, I know that you will be happy to know that Abbey arrived safely and soundly in Heaven! Having the pictures you sent to me was such a big help. I recognized Abbey right away. You know, Meredith, she isn't sick anymore. Her spirit is here with me--just like she stays in your heart--young and running and playing. Abbey loved being your dog, you know. Since we don't need our bodies in heaven, I don't have any pockets - so I can't keep your beautiful letter. I am sending it to you with the pictures so that you will have this book to keep and remember Abbey. One of my angels is taking care of this for me. I hope the little book helps. Thank you for the beautiful letter. Thank your mother for sending it. What a wonderful mother you have! I picked her especially for you. I send my blessings every day and remember that I love you very much. By the way, I am in heaven but wherever there is love, I am there also. Love, God and the special angel who wrote this after God told her the words. As a parent and a pet lover, this is one of the kindest things that I've ever experienced. I have no way to know who sent it, but there is some very kind soul working in the dead letter office. Just wanted to share this act of compassion. Blessings of love, peace, health & happiness _______________________________________

My house is located in an older area also, we pretty much mind our own biz and people take care of their property, A friend of mine built a new home in one of these huge new subdivisions. They moved in and proudly put out one of those decorative flagpole with the stars and stripes. Next day they received a order from the committee that no flags were allowed, not even the US flag. My friend told them to fuck off, come and take it down if they had the balls. It made the local papers. Needless to say the flag is still there and the association turned their attention to annoying someone else. _______________________________________

Well, I have not posted for awhile but had to add my two cents! John Groban - To Where You Are. I heard it right after my Mom died - when it is my time, it's the song I want played. Who can say for certain Maybe you’re still here I feel you all around me Your memories so clear Deep in the stillness I can hear you speak You’re still an inspiration Can it be (? ) That you are mine Forever love And you are watching over me from up above Fly me up to where you are Beyond the distant star I wish upon tonight To see you smile If only for awhile to know you’re there A breath away’s not far To where you are Are you gently sleeping Here inside my dream And isn’t faith believing All power can’t be seen As my heart holds you Just one beat away I cherish all you gave me everyday ’cause you are mine Forever love Watching me from up above And I believe That angels breathe And that love will live on and never leave Fly me up To where you are Beyond the distant star I wish upon tonight To see you smile If only for awhile To know you’re there A breath away’s not far To where you are I know you’re there A breath away’s not far To where you are Also, "Oh Holy Night" just sets me to tears. It is so what Christmas is about. _______________________________________

So many people offered me condolences when I had to put my dog, Ed to sleep, I wanted to share our joy of our new pup. He is now 11 weeks, he is a Border Collie (the 5th one I have had - love 'em!) and his name is...are ya ready...Badger! The breeder had given him the nickname due to his markings and I had to keep it - it's perfect! He will be out at Skydive Chicago occasionally to visit. I am hoping to jump again at least once (for fun) before the end of summer. Had to add this too www.badgerbadgerbadger.com _______________________________________

I don't post much, only jumped three times but felt so welcome here I stayed around. I had to share this with you. If you have a pet, give them a big hug and tell them you love them, there is never enough time. The last few days have been terrible. Today would have been Eddie's 5th birthday. Instead, we are missing him and grieving for him. On Thursday, May 12th, we were forced to say good bye to him on this earth. Eddie had been having intermittent behavior problems and unfortunately, it became severe and we were left with no choice. Our trusted veterinarians, breeders and friends agreed this most likely stems from a accident with a car several years ago. It broke our hearts to do the right thing. Today our home and hearts are empty. Eddie was our "boy" and went and did everything with us. He was our companion and friend. There will never be another like him. Be free, Ed, where you are now there are countless tennis balls (get my Mom to throw them for you) and lots of squirrels and rabbits for you to chase. You will never again be afraid during fireworks and thunderstorms. We know we will see you again, at the Rainbow Bridge. Please remember our Ed in your hearts and prayers. _______________________________________

I loved the movie as well. I have seen the stage production twice and used some of the music in my wedding. The film is no substitute for the live version but is really well done. It is fabulous! _______________________________________

All of a sudden you're 5 years old again, and lost. You feel helpless, scared and so very, VERY alone. You wonder how you can go on, without them to guide you. And what you do, is SURVIVE. You cry, because they've been taken from you, and it hurts SO badly. And that is the most natural thing in the world, my friend. Wow, I could have not said that better! It was 2 years this past week for me that I lost my Mom. (My Dad died twelve years ago). I cried all week like a baby - it hurt, it always will. But the good memories become what you think of, not the sadness. Sometimes you will feel like you are going crazy - you're not! It's part of the grieving process. Think like I do - when you look up at the stars at night, think of them not as stars but as windows open from Heaven, the light of our loves ones shining out, letting us know they are ok. A friend had sent me a card with that on it and I love it. God bless you - take care, warm hugs from Illinois! Peggy _______________________________________

Happy Holidays! http://www.jacquielawson.com/viewcard.asp?code=KG13629423

More than likely a repost, but still fun! 1. Avoid carrot sticks. Anyone who puts carrots on a holiday buffet table knows nothing of the Christmas spirit. In fact, if you see carrots, leave immediately. Go next door, where they're serving rum balls. 2. Drink as much eggnog as you can. And quickly. Like fine single-malt scotch, it's rare. In fact, it's even rarer than single-malt scotch. You can't find it any other time of year but now. So drink up! Who cares that it has 10,000 calories in every sip? It's not as if you're going to turn into an eggnog-alcoholic or something. It's a treat. Enjoy it. Have one for me. Have two. It's later than you think. It's Christmas! 3. If something comes with gravy, use it. That's the whole point of gravy. Gravy does not stand alone. Pour it on. Make a volcano out of your mashed potatoes. Fill it with gravy. Eat the volcano. Repeat. 4. As for mashed potatoes, always ask if they're made with skim milk or whole milk. If it's skim, pass. Why bother? It's like buying a sports car with an automatic transmission. 5. Do not have a snack before going to a party in an effort to control your eating. The whole point of going to a Christmas party is to eat other people's food for free. Lots of it. Hello? 6. Under no circumstances should you exercise between now and New Year's. You can do that in January when you have nothing else to do. This is the time for long naps, which you'll need after circling the buffet table while carrying a 10-pound plate of food and that vat of eggnog. 7. If you come across something really good at a buffet table, like frosted Christmas cookies in the shape and size of Santa, position yourself near them and don't budge. Have as many as you can before becoming the center of attention. They're like a beautiful pair of shoes. If you leave them behind, you're never going to see them again. 8. Same for pies. Apple. Pumpkin. Mincemeat. Have a slice of each. Or, if you don't like mincemeat, have two apples and one pumpkin. Always have three. When else do you get to have more than one dessert? Labor Day? 9. Did someone mention fruitcake? Granted, it's loaded with the mandatory celebratory calories, but avoid it at all cost. I mean, have some standards. 10. One final tip: If you don't feel terrible when you leave the party or get up from the table, you haven't been paying attention. Reread tips; start over; but hurry; January is just around the corner. _______________________________________

I'm really excited about doing this. Christmas is about doing things from the heart and as anyone knows that does volunteer work and anything like that, the feeling you get is better than any gift bought commercially. Happy Holidays to all _______________________________________
