"PD have a duty to their employees " Where are their employees ? in Deland ? other countries? Which ones? Do they provide good health insurance for their employees ? Do their employees regularly get a raise due to the increase cost of living ?, etc.. If so, then I love PD's !!!!!

Do they want to kill Sport Skydiving or what? Maybe they think skydiving equipment is not expensive enough. Where are the canopies made ? Just asking....

Le Luc, Var is near Toulon. They are open three weeks in a row in August. Otherwise, jumps on the weekends only. You can get your tandem jump and/ or AFF rating. Camping and showers available. St Tropez is near by with good night life!!!! Check the french website wuza. Au revoir

My first brand new canopy was a sabre1 170 and I learned all the basic skills and more like swooping, I also learned a lot from my piloting mistakes, .. oops.... My point is this is not such a bad canopy for beginners,. After +/- 700 jumps, the top center cell had to be replaced ( where the PD label is on) and the lines. If I recall, probably one or two hard openings. To prevent this, the 4-4-1 packing method.... I sold mine after 1000 jumps on it .... It was about time.... It depends on how much it is sold for and its condition ????? At 900 jumps, I wouldn't buy it though and would save more money for a more recent type of canopy....

I would not like to sell an old reserve canopy before having it inspected by the Factory. Of course this is not a requirement, but as one says "treat people the way you would like to be treated". What would it cost me? A little money. So what ? At least I 'll know that the reserve is airworthy and won't blow up on opening!!! This is what the skydiving community should be. Unfortunately, there are way too many individualistic, selfish persons who are killing the spirit of this beautiful sport and have only business in mind.

The owner of the reserve should have the canopy tested first by PD factory at his own expense before he could sell it, even if all the boxes have not been filled up. You want to be sure that the reserve is airworthy !! Get the official document that proves it. For a sixteen-year old canopy, I will still negociate the price, especially nowadays... Personnally, I would not pay more than 300 dollars.

I don't agree. A vector 308 with a 135 main looks very bulky and ugly. It is much better designed for a 120 main and 126 reserve.

I guess we have invaded this country according to France Haitians speak Creole and FRENCH !!!! We also need the French nilitary to get in Haiti, because as far as I know, the US soldiers doesn't speak French and that can create big problems. If the US military are not willing to coordinate efforts with the French, then one can doubt about the "moral legitimity" of the US. When someone is in desperate need to talk to someone because of so much suffering and despair, that person will express himself/ herself in his/her native language which is French!!!! I just hope Obama has already worked this out with France. By the way ask Europeans and other nations if they trust the US? Maybe they have legitimate reasons not to trust Americans.

The new Optima 2 has now a ruggedized casing and hopefully, the cracking should not be an issue anymore. Still a great and reliable tool!!! and the customer service is excellent. Makes me want to move to Danemark!!!

You're right. I had to exchange my optima with a new one a couple of years ago. The one I have now is also showing some crakings on the box and window screen !!! which I will have to exchange again !!! ! Does the new optima come with a stronger case? not sure, Too bad because this is a very reliable instrument.

This is a very reliable instrument. good engineering. Unfortunately, the plastic case and screen are not strong. I had to exhange my optima a couple of years ago. The one I have now has shown the same type of problem.(Craking!!!) The mounting is bad.

Totallly agree with you. Each time there is a new member, Facebook must make money, no doubt. I just don't understand why people would put their private life on display anyway.

...I expect my Pilot to open without spooking the AAD, and I'd rather have two canopy options if needed. Really??? this is what your instructor taught you?? TRUST your reseve: She is your friend!!! Your reserve entangling with your main, oops....and flying carefully two canopies out above swamps, woods ,... who knows where... maybe finding yourself far away from your nice landing pattern...Hasta la vista,...

Please, could you explain how they manage to have a $13 jump ticket ?? ?($15??) altitude jump??? while it costs almost twice at most other DZs?????
