  1. Got it Thanks for yor effort.
  2. looking for ex Team Crank member. Magoo (trev) He is in NZ at the moment. PM me with any info, important. Thanks.
  3. Just a quick question Does anybody know anything about the Sony DCR-HC14E Handycam. Just been given one for xmas, Baby stuff & all that, can it be used for skydiving vid's when I have enough experience. Cheers
  4. Freefalling (pre Aff) diving all around the sky, no chute out, little fish pond where I worked, thought Oh fu*k & turned on my back just before I hit it to break the fall ( it's only 9inches deep). Everybody was clapping as I stood up & waved to every body that I was alright. One really messed up dream brought about by thinking about skydiving. Hope it never becomes an option
  5. That's a cool way of thinking, the aff course is way intense & if you feel that's the right thing for you to do, then I'm sure you have the right mind for this sport. It's all about knowing your own limits & goals. Go Girl, see you in the air one day
  6. Ask if anybody could come & buy beer for you for the DZ & then duck from all the bodies flying your way & have you thought about another tandem,
  7. I read your post too quick, diden't take it all in,
  8. I did aff by choice, looked through diffrent choices & still picked aff. Freefall is a blast, the most fun you can have with trainers/sneekers on. You get the freefall alright, & it's straight off. You have to land your parachute on your own no matter what system you go through, aff, s/l, or tandem progression. so why not become a skydiver who can land a parachute all on the same jump. There are fore's & against's, every student will tell you thier own story, just like me, but, if you want to fly canopys, become a parapontist, if you want to skydive do aff. S/l students will tell you that they are better at canopy control than aff students & this may be true, aff students tend to get thier skydiving licences long before S/l students & still do the same number of landings while these said better parachutests still can't master freefall & are stuck on 15 second delays, go figer.. S/l students do a lot more jumps than AFF students because they never really feel freefall in thier first few jumps, & then that could be be for quite a few jumps there after (depending on student). Get prices (did you really want to become a skydiver to sit under a parachute for sooo long till you felt freefall because it was a little cheeper & twice as long & more than likley quit because of the time & comitment it took), I'd say, go aff. But thats just ME. Mush Tandems are fantastic (never done one myself), but everyone I know that has would like to try it one more time because it was so much FUN, but they will never become skydivers, it's the best blast in the world, if you want to tast skydiving, DO IT, you'll never forget it. If you have done one already, save your money, the cost of a tandem will buy you some equiptment when you grad AFF. (again, just my thoughts)
  9. You are one serious dude to have that information at hand. Mush
  10. 2 parts Baileys 2 parts Irish Whisky 1 part fresh Irish cream Loads of crushed ice Stir just a little Drink through straw on a warm summers night or any cool evening. You'll be kissing the Blarney Stone. Anybody know New Town, Cork. Mush
  11. I'll try to be more obvious for The Mush next time. reply] Sorry bloke, must have been on one, I find it hard to type things how I mean them & my sence of humor comes across all wrong. mush
  12. My reply to people who hit thier heads on anything that was in thier way was, "Why, it's a dodgey sport but why do poeple jump in situations when thet can't even protect their head leaving a plane, are you slap dash or something or not properly trained, please explaine to me. If I can't exit without hitting my head on something, or a least know how to avoid it, I'd be a little worried, or is that just me." I feel a little training for these people would be a good idea. I am talking about exits here, you can't account for people in freefall, but, you can leave the plane safley.
  13. for me it is the fear, then the RUSH, I think if you broke it down, i would be a little more like this: The RUSH is: 1. Knowing that you can jump outta planes 2. Knowing that you have jumped outta planes 3. knowing that you will jump outta planes 4. driving to a dz knowing that you will jump outta a plane. 5. kitting up ready to J.O.P. 6. Manifesting to J.O.P. Get the picture Add your own stuff as you like & I'm sure most skydivers will come up with around 50, if not more things that they think about before each jump, you could be S/L, AFF, flat, freefly, new to headdown, video, whatever, the process is the same, you have to go through a certian amout of things before your brain tells you "you are now good to go". Once you have passed all these prossess, all you have to decice is the biggest one, DO I WANT TOO. Every time someone tells you that it's too expensive, think of what your getting for your JT, for me, I get a RUSH each time I think or go through something jump related, that's a lot of RUSHES, it's one hell of a sweet deal. for the $$$$ or the ££££ or the euros or whatever you pay, that' good V.F.M.
  14. Besides, where else are you gonna put your dytter? And it hurts like hell when you bolt the camera straight to the skull The dytter thing, on your goggle strap, FOOL, they make stuff for that nowdays, & why would you wear a camera on your helmet if your doing tandems. Are you all there mate.
  15. But I am still confused about the - EARS being RIPPED OFF thing, can you help here, it seemes to be a general (jump without an helmet, get your eares ripped off thing) do you have any STATS???? Mush
  16. Great points & quaility answer, what I was looking for, Thanks.
  17. Hey. Just got it. You should have drunk Guiness extra cold. That would have shrunk your blarney stones
  18. No, still don't get it, you'll just have to spell it out for me. Must have been all the beer I just drunk. Sorry
  19. NOT quite sure what you mean, Warm, a little more info please if poss
  20. Dude. You have no idea how much beer I have to buy since I started skydiving I've forgotten what mornings look like, but hey, at least i see the sunsets for the first time in my life. OH SHIT, more BEER
  21. Your right, it's a big picture, you have to take in all the risks, & there are quite a few to mention. But don't you feel the if someone said that they had a mark on thier helmet of every plane that they jumped out of (which has been stated before on here) you would think them a little dangerous?? I would. I think pre-planned no helmet coached jumps in the right wind conditions(with training if the wind changes) are a good thing, if you lost your helmet at 3200ft, you have been there, you know how to react. An experienced skydiver on these boards said that "if someone got confused at these altitudes & diden't pull then skydiving wasen't for them" Right on experienced skydiver type bloke, they would be dead, But training might have helped a little. This is not a dig at anybody, it's just my thoughts, please correct if needed, correction welcomed. Mush
  22. I laugh & joke about tandems, but, when I see vid's of me landing, the smiles, laughs & stuff are all the same. It seem's every landing is my first. It's all good. Mush
  23. Why, it's a dodgey sport but why do poeple jump in situations when thet can't even protect their head leaving a plane, are you slap dash or something or not properly trained, please explaine to me. If I can't exit without hitting my head on something, or a least know how to avoid it, I'd be a little worried, or is that just me. The, "Thats just the way it is in this sport", please keep your oppinions to yourself, I'm looking for quility answers here so I can understand. Mush
  24. Me neither, I was never in it for the adrenaline rush, I think when you start skydiving the first 50 jumps or so ( please correcet me if I'm wrong, I only have 50 odd jumps) are beyond adrenaline, I think some people get into the jumping thing because of the adrenaline rush they got off ground sports & thought they could get the same rush in the air, it's not the same type of rush. Some people are driven by a force that they do not understand to jump in the skies. For whatever reason, we are all doing the same thing, for me, it's not for the adrenaline rush, I can get that on the ground, it's something diffrent, what is it for you.
  25. No offence ment by Tantrums, it's just a fun way of saying Tandems, sorry Mush
