I have seen on a couple sources that the statistics for skydiving fatalities are roughly 1 -100,000. Are BASE jumpers counted as skydivers? If anyone knows where there is detailed statistic information please post. Is there a cure for this?

Hey! I am new here and just made my first jump today -AFF1. I have seen a few references to buying beer, can anyone explain this further? I think I might already be in debt since it was my first jump. I also couldn't find my PC - the jump wasn't as scary as I thought it would be until I reached back twice and grabbed nothing- but the JM was kind enough to pull it for me.
