Umm.. Ok.. So I am the person who stole the Admin Password and sent the mass E-Mail. Please give me a chance here Moderators, I really am going somewhere with this message. Whats the big deal. My name is Chuck Owen and any of your questions or comments may be directed toward me. Oh yeah, the Ki!!! Ya!!! is simply a power word used to express extreme anger and bitter beer face all at once. You guys should lighten up and try it one day. Just say it really loud. Makes you feel good.
And while we're on the subject of you guys lightening up. How about we cool it with the extreme censorship. Why should only a select few be allowed to voice their opinions? Is this not an OPEN forum for discussion?
Whats so bad about skyride? Each one of you proclaims to be behind the cause of advancing the sport. What better way to advance the sport than to expose masses of people to it. The actual percentage of dissatisfied customers is fully in line with the expected percentage of dissatisfied customers for any business. What I am beginning to see shine through is not a battle for the people, but rather a battle between the haves and the have nots. Someone beat you to the punch business wise and now you're sore. The best defense is a good offense kids. Lets deliver skydiving from the stone ages of business and develop actual business structures. Things like agressive marketing and public relations might actually give you guys the edge you seek. This is not an epic David and Goliath struggle. Its modern ecenomics and corporate structure.
If any of you were actually capable of riding the horses you sit so high upon then you would pony up to all the true worthy anti-corporate america causes. Each of you shops at Wall-Mart. Do you have any idea the number of small businesses Wal-Mart kicks to the curb every day? Lots... But why do we continue to use them? Convinience, Greater concentration of goods in one location. None of you cry for the little man in this scenario. What about Home Depot? What about Galyans. Entities such as these are the way of our future. In the skydiving environment this will breed an enormous skydiver and student base. A base that will bring with it a great demand for large lift capacity aircraft and nice facilities. Something I feel that anyone who jumps at a Cessna dropzone will agree with. This is a quick growing sport. No longer can one become great in any discipline by making four or five jumps a weekend from nine thousand five hundred feet.
Also! I have a great deal of beef with the USPA over this issue. I am an Aff and Tandem instructor here at ASC. My dues are being used against the dropzone I jump at. My dues are being used against me. What right does the USPA have to intervene in the business practices of any DropZone. All of you really make my head hurt when I think about the time you waste.
