Er, ummm, Derek? Wrong Charlie. The post you were responding to was referring to Mike's kid, I do believe. You met Charlie K at Deland, right? Easy enough -- both are jumpers/jump pilots.

Take care of yourself. Let us know what's up with you, but mainly take care of yourself.

Not scared off. Remember, I'm bringing the SI for sunshine at Rantoul, and she said she's turning you over to me!
-
You can have your Otter. I'd rather jump a Beaver.

WHAT? Only 9000? Has HH dumped half of Clay's posts?

Yes we do so, #%@*& it all. Farging Iceholes!

Lynn and I were debating whether Scotty was coming back. I said yes, she said no. When I saw him come on the ice with his skates on, I agreed with her. Dang. The one bad note in a great evening. We'll miss you Scotty, thanks for the memories (and the cups). Stevie, get well, we'll see you late next season.

My soul. (Only got two jumps for it. Cheap Bastage!)

That's all I was trying to find out. Sorry if you didn't get the humor in the last line. Guess we were both a bit vague.

When there are cars backed up in a lane to take, say, the connecting ramp to another interstate, and there are two lanes to the left for those bypassing the turn, are you saying you will go in one of those lanes and then, at the last possible moment, try to squeeze into the lane with all the drivers who have been following the rules and waiting their turn? If so, you are a far bigger jerk and a&*@##$ than just merely a rude Aussie!

is the fat lady warming up. Less than 15 minutes to go. Go Wings!

Way to go, Lisa! I love it when they try to do that to me when I'm driving the RV, seems like they aren't too eager to argue with 15 tons of steel, kevlar and fiberglass...

I have a friend who did that shortly after getting off student status. She jumped and the storm moved in and blew her into power lines near Deland. She had to be revived and has nasty scarage on her back from the burns. It may be awesome, but t'ain't worth it, my friends!

Peter's story is one of the reasons I replaced my Vectran lines as soon as I saw wear appearing on my steering lines. Didn't replace them with Vectran, though, switched to Spectra. I'd rather deal with checking the trim than worry about a brake line snapping on final.

I prefer "Go fast, take chances, and date your rigger's wife"!

These suggestions MIGHT work if not for the fact that he had to install the drive originally using some other add-on. That puts a monkey wrench in the works. He might be able to make the drive accessible with these params, but I doubt greatly he will be able to actuall access the data. Hope so, but seriously doubt it.

DING! [carnyvoice] Give that man a cigar! Good job, son![/carnyvoice] Seriously, billvon had hit the head on the nail here. A relationship is built on trust. Lying destroys trust. Even if the lie is not discovered, the lie kills one's self-respect and esteem. Flirting does not kill a relationship unless one partner is so insecure the he/she feels threatened by it; this is something that should be discussed by the people in the relationship. Flirting with intent to follow through can destroy a relationship, because that is a lie unless the relationship has been defined as an 'open' one, and despite all the guys (in particular) who say they can handle an open relationship, when the action matches the idea the yellow monster of jealousy rears its ugly head. The main idea I am trying to get across is that lust, love or chemical attraction can start a relationship, quite often it is a combination of these, but it is trust that defines the lasting relationship. If a person feels he/she has damaged that trust, then he/she is guilty of cheating. If a person causes the other person to doubt, that person is also guilty of cheating. The damage can be repaired even if the cheating is an out-and-out sexual affair, if both parties want it to be. The offended party must truly forgive the offender, and the offender must truly regret betraying the other's trust. Even in an open relationship it is possible to betray a partner's trust; the line is drawn somewhere, crossing that line damages the relationship.

Been there, done that, burned the T-shirt! Serially, there are two options that I see: 1) You could send the disk to a data recovery service -- they will probably be able to get 80-99% of your data back (at a cost of about $50-100/Meg or more) 2) You can format the disk using a DOS that doesn't need band-aids to recognize large drives, and just kiss your data goodbye. Either way, you will need to do the second. Just chalk it up to bad experience/judgement. Now go, and sin no more.

As I implied in my first post, I sent it out on Monday, and it was back by Friday. That's from FL to NC and back via UPS. Remember, this was with prior notification so the lineset was waiting for the canopy. BTW, for anyone that might be reading this yet, I sent it to Icarus still packed in the d-bag. They did the reline and put it back on the risers for me. I only had to hook it up, do a line check and pack it. Nice customer service.

Actually, they can make up the line set and you can have a rigger do it, but it wouldn't be any cheaper, and I don't think it would be any faster. Though, of course, if the service loft is busy, they might not be able to turn it around as fast as they did mine, but they'll try to get it back to you as soon as possible. I have my choice of riggers who I would be more than happy to have do the work for me, but I just like the idea of having my canopy inspected and modified by the factory's rigger(s).

Like the man said, $268. I paid shipping to Icarus, they paid back.

Just to add to the confusuon here -- I just got my Safire relined. I wanted to get away from the Vectran lines, also my steering lines were starting to show wear around the cat's eye and I wan't relishing the thought of losing one on final! So, I killed three birds with one stone, got rid of the Vectran, got new lines, and went from trim revision 0 to trim revision 3 (which is, I understand, the same as used on the Safire 2). It was like getting a new canopy. Have noticably more power in the flare, turns about the same and looks great. Think I'll keep her for a long while. Oops, almost gotfor, Icarus' customer service rocks! I called on a Tuesday to set up the reline. Mel said I would get it back in 7-10 days, then he said "Wait! I'll get the lineset built now. You jump this weekend and send it out Monday via UPS. I'll get it Wednesday, we'll check it out and reline it and send it back out that evening and you won't miss a weekend." They did just that. Unfortunately I didn't get to jump it that next weekend because the Tuesday evening after we talked was when my Mom died and we had her memorial service that Saturday, but my canopy was back as promised.
