  1. The Dr showed me the xray....it didnt look to bad. I have already broken it once and had it fixewd up...i don think this one is too complicated so ill prob wait a week or so and then go jumping, unless I hear anything that might be dangerous about it.
  2. Of course I had to break my nose while sledding down a cheesy hill. Well now the question is how long do I have to wait to go jumping again... I prob wont need sugery so now im waiting for it to heal. Has anyone ever skydived with a broken nose? If so, is there anything I should know about it? It would suck to have to wait 3 weeks to jump again... Herschel
  3. The Canon zr60 was on sale last Friday at Best Buy for $300...there are others in the $400-500 range. Herschel
  4. I did two static line jumps in South Africa. Just doing that got me wanting to get into the sport. Then 3 years later I did AFF. The rest is history.
  5. Thanx guys...lots of info. I know I am no where near jumping with a camera. But hopefully one day everything will work out. I do alot of amatuer videography and some editing, so in regards to that I have an idea of whats going on. Thanx again, Herschel
  6. With regards to the RW jumps, is there anything that I can practice? I would like to be a camera flyer to be able to produce professional video. Herschel
  7. Hi, I'm new to skydiving. Hopefully should be getting my A license within the next few weeks. I have read many posts regarding videography in the air. I would like to know what I can do now to prepare myself for the world of videography (in the air). Types of exits, positions in the air, landing/canopy control etc. I know that I will not be jumping with a camera yet. I would like to be educated and trained before hand. Also, I have spoken to the videographers at my DZ. Herschel
  8. Hi, Im a paramedic. Skymedic, I an curious as to where you did flight medicine.
  9. Hey, I would have to say im in the same boat as you guys. I have a C++ test tomorrow and a Orgo Chem test Thursday, but right now im working on financing my rig and the next few jumps. It sure as hell is addicting
  10. I'm lookiing to buy my first rig and came across a Strong Z-PO 190 canopy. Couldnt find to much info on it. What experiance do people have with it? The one I'm looking at has appx 300 jumps. The seller is asking $500. Is that a fair price (canopy alone). Im guessing its a zero porosity canopy based on its name. Thanks for your help.
  11. Hey all. Im a relatively new paramedic. Work in NJ at a few diff hospitals. I am very new to skydiving, and totally love it. Did my first solo jump Friday! Anyways, its nice to know there are other public safety pros doing this too. Herschel
  12. I dont think this is the right post, but since its about student rigs i will ask the question. Does someone not licensed, but finished with AFF training need to be jumping a rig that is not equipped with an AAD?
  13. Yes we hold that when u where them, they should be hanging out. But when i go jumping i keep them tucked in my jumpsuit being that they would be useless if they get ruined.
  14. I just finished AFF and for the last almost week it has been nasty rainy weather (of course when im working and driving around on sunday it was beutiful, but then monday sucked). Well now im back to school and cant wait til friday (hopefully it will be a good day). And yes, im addicted
  15. Hey, Its my first time posting, and im still new to this (already in love with it). Just finished my AFF training and if the weather clears up will be doing my first solo some time soon. I am an Orthodox Jew (also considered Chasidic). I wear a yarmulka (aka kipah, skullcap) and tzitzit (string hanging out on the sides). I have not heard of any other licensed skydivers who are orthodox, but if theres anyone out there let me know!
