  1. Here in europe you can tell the guy an opened reserve has finencial consequences. In case he opens it you can send the bill for the repack ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  2. Whatever canopy you take. It will open fast. An airplane in trouble is likely to keep as much speed as possible (speed is lift) to stay flying. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  3. Stainless steel will be used more and more because the use of Cadmium will be restricted further. Nickel is not really good as a corrosion protector. It scratches easy. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  4. KAP III only causes headackes at the moment. The only one I ever saw was in a DZ bar and I won a lot of beer. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  5. Why put an AAD 450ft higher? Onlty reason I can think of is a DZ situated higher as the airfield. For the rest the VIGIL did what it is designed for, nothing special about it. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  6. Stalling your canopy is fun. Also with a stiletto 107 ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  7. Agree 100% about the booties. I'm not that large and jumping with booties was an increadible improvment. Much less rocking and very easy to maintain heading in freefall. I use a suit similar to an RW-suit, but with wider arms and booties (no grips) The suit has been made on request, but it is similar to the suit some AFF-instructors use. I can also use that suit for doing RW-instructions with light-weight students Not only the booties help, but also the wider arms help me to grap some extra air and at the same time have a normal freefall speed I normally do 100-150 tandems a year. For me that is enough to invest in a suit specific for tandems. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  8. Unfortunately we have a rather strong socialist media influence here in europe. They always criticise the USA. I'm happy I live in Holland and my government decided to support the USA. Most people don't remember it is only 60years ago holland has been liberated by UK/US/Canada/australia. Please vote BUSH. KERRY will bring you guys much of the tax-increasing socialistic shit. Those socialists (in fact they are communists) forget one thing: To give one person money, you have to steal it from another person. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  9. 30euro a tandem including the packjob. Packing a tandem about 8euro ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  10. I agree. EXIT STABLE!!! Remember what happens it you use your legs to catch a student. You have even less controll area at that moment. Correct the student in the door. Fly your exit and do not react in case the student has an incorrect body position (legs straight, inverse arch) This works even with a student kicking and grapping with his hands Fly the exit a couple of seconds and throw the droque in clean air belly to earth. A lightweight passenger with an incorrect body position will influence your stability more than a hamburger shaped meat-ball. When you feel you will flip over it's often better to make the flip instead of fighting it. The flip will come anyway. When using your droque to gain stability remember the "lost droque release situation" Till now I never had to use my droque to gain stability neither did I come close to a side-spin When jumping out of an airplane you are not familar with, return to student status and ask a briefing ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  11. Funny, this hasn't happened yet. I'm still loving my vigil. I used both rigs this weekend, cypres 1 told me a bunch of numbers and crap. My vigil speaks english--I'm honestly much more comfortable using the vigil and jumping it than the cypres. I think I need to ditch the cypres for another vigil I'm really getting a little bit sad about this. I don't care what language my AAD speaks, as long as I understand it. According to your arguments Microsoft products must be ok too. Well, in as soon as Microsoft starts making aeroplane flightsoftware I will take a boat! ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  12. You did not forget to land safely in this situation. A lot of people forget that and get injured while landing off-DZ. So you took the correct decision ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  13. Take the video. You will learn a lot about your bodypostion. No need to feel embarissed about yourself. Everyone has had some (minor) problems during their student status ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  14. I wear a helmet because I have to. I wolud like to drive with just my sunglasses. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  15. 1) No device has an unlimited lifetime.VIGIL does not know the lifetime yet. They expect it to be 15 years 2) No maintenance foreseen at the moment (while the company has no experience in AAD's) 3) Why do I need different modes. I only need it for my solo-rig and I'm not planning to do tandems or student jumps with a stiletto 107. 4) A cypres also has a cutter when purchased. I'm not planning to use the cutter. If I need to use it I don't care about buying a new one. Advantages I'm looking for: 1) Better technology (simple design for example) 2) Significant lower purchase price 3) Reliability I'm sorry but I'm an aerospace engineer and we like to use proven technology for safety critical applications ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  16. Packing is fun!! It's my only reason for jumping, the idea of a nice packjob after you land. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  17. I do not see why to put trust in a company for the purpose of having a competitor in the market. VIGIL does not offer me any advantages over AIRTEC. I stay with the company having most experience in the field. Hey, I'm a skydiver. You expect me to have a car with "safety-devises"? ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  18. Here in europe the Next is sold rather much because it is price friendly. I think in the US the price will be more or less the same as US rigs. So I would suggest in the US buy a Vector 3 ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  19. Please clarify. how do you do that? AAD is electrical equipment for aerospace use and shall be qualified according to Aerospace EMI requirements. Which can not be compared with automotive requirements. Military aerospace EMI requirements are the most severe in the industry. As an aerospace engineer I will buy the AAD that follows this specs. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  20. Then dont jump with anyone that has one 'cause AAD's will misfire. Might as well avoid the following features in your vicinity: 1. Worn Velcro on bridles 2. Too short reserve cables/end of the reserve cable neatly tucked away inside the velcro that holds the handle 3. Loose PC pockets 4. Worn main loops 5. Loose main loops Yes I once (2 years ago) refused to jump with a video (while doing tandem) because the videoman planned to jump a piece of shit. Loose loop, worn velcro etc in a C206. After a short discussion the videoman agreed to jump my rig that weekend. Brought his rig to the rigger and a week later the problem was solved. Additional advantage of using my rig was the pressence of a Cypres instead of nothing. Accidents might happen, but accidents caused by equipment can be largely avoided by at least: 1) Select your equipment carefully. 2) Proper maintenance Greetings Ton ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  21. Well at least it is positive Vigil hired a rigger. Succes, try to convince me to buy your product. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  22. No back problems doing tandems. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  23. Broke my arm once, doing something very stupid. (It was not a low-turn!!) I will never make that mistake again. Not be able to jump for 2 months in the middle of the summer is what really hurts. (The broken arm itself did not really hurt) ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  24. I don't care about awards. I want to jump for FUN. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  25. Well it's a free world. you can buy the unit you want. I'll buy a Cypres 2!! ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
