Thank you, this might be the solution for one of our tandemmains (BT80). The canopy already has several 100 jumps on it. About 1 in 10 jumps the slider stays stuck about 5ft under the canopy. I could clear this 3 times. Other TM could not and this has resulted in 2 chops this year (only 2 tandem-chops till now at the DZ) Greetings ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig

Never used a video for training tandems. For regular student video can be helpfull to clarify some issues. (Opening, malfunctions, break-away...) ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig

Sorry for my "not so nice" answer to your question ZP fabric has a built in stress sensor. As is senses stress the fabric starts sucking air and will slip easy. Of course this is a joke, but relaxing and taking a deep breath before putting the canopy in the bag really helps Succes ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig

I assume the sabres have been bought when the navigator was not available (I know that for sure) I once jumped a sabre 170 intended to use for students after 15jumps. The steering lines were normal length and I could not stall the canopy (75kg/165lbs) This was in Hilversum (Netherlands) at the time the navigator was not available. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig

Should students be allowed to use audibles?
skydiverton replied to lewmonst's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
NO. Students shall develop altitude awareness. This is one of the most important survival skills a student needs. I also do relative instuction with students. I forbid the students to use a pro-track because one of the issues studens have to learn is altitude awareness. This is more important than all the RW-exercises. If they are used use them as a kind of flatline (2000ft) not as a reminder to open your parachute ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig -

My parents did not like it in the beginning. Now my dad make a tandemjump (not with me) AND My mom saw my first reserve ride from the ground. (she will never do a tandem). Now they are ok with it. Funny situation: I had a loose stitching on my slider some years ago. And I asked my mom to repair it. (She repairs my jumpsuits too) She repaired it but she called me in the evening because she was afraid she might have made a mistake and spend the whole day thinking about me chopping the main because of the repair she did (Of course the opening was ok). She was very happy averything was ok. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig

Most important thing: Don't try to figure out yourself. ASK YOUR INSTRUCTOR. If you are not 100% sure he told you the right thing. Pack it the was hes shows and try to Pull the pin out on the ground. Both Bull-out and BOC are good opening systems if: "correct manufactured, maintained, packed and operated" ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig

I'm a tandemmaster. Not a videoman. People pay me to bring them back to earth safely. If I want to make nice video's I will jump with a videohelmet. I will not like it when I will be forced to jump with a handycam. Because I don't want to deal with all that video-editing and bad footage shit. Let me handle the passenger and someone else the videostuff. In case I have doubts about the videopersons skills I will not jump with him. I do not have to jump for a living. For me it's a sideline activity. Remember: All tandempassengers have one objective: To kill you ! ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Ignore the numbers. When students start backing up under canopy, stop dropping them. Backwards PLFs cause far too many spine and head injuries, because few students do not do them correct instinctively. Backwards PLFs are an unnatural act. Sabres are passe' for students. If you are going to spend the money, buy specialized student canopies incorporating ZP fabric: (Aerodyne) Solo, (Flight Concepts) Manta, (Icarus) ??, (PD) Navigator, (PISA) Skymaster, etc. The 18kts was a quote. Generaly I agree with you. Students shall jump in student conditions with student gear. I really like the Skymaster student canopy for the heavy students. Saw a 110kg student flare it at 15meters. Landing ok. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig

If you want to you can hit the stabilo on a lot of airplanes like the Caravan and C206. Very important to check the position of the stabilo before exit. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig

To my oppinion students should not jump with 18kts. Immagine a student landing downwind without flaring ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig

I meant "I liked" my job. Company went bankrupt last week. They are talking about a takeover now. We will see. By the way the weather is bad too, so no tandems. That really sucks Greetings ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig

Tandem Instructor Poll: Instructor Helmets

Wear a frap-hat, because I have to wear "some hat" in germany. In Holland I just use my goggles as a head protection ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig -
VIGIL has worked out all the bugs they know, It is still not clear whether there are more bugs. The longer the product is in service (accumulated jump jumbers of all units together) the smaller the change of new bugs. VIGIL thinks they do not need mainanance. Imagine if I could buy a car from a company (that never made a car before): - That is a little cheaper than all the other cars. - Lasts a lot longer than all other cars - And this without maintenance. Keep on dreaming ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig

All the guys mentioned above got the units for free. That's the real reason. For the moment I'm happy with my Cypress and I have still 8 years left to see how this develops. By that time the company will deliver a good product or is off-market. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig

-Prepare your student in the door (Hands, head and legs) - Fly your own exit even when the student stretches a leg or de-arches. - Make a handle check every jump! - Flare without assistance (Bad landings hurt). Passenger shall keep legs up. - Get advice from experienced TM at your DZ. - Look at the passenger videos. For the passenger they are a kind of entertainment. For you they are a source of feedback. I can go on, but the most important thing: Find yourself a fixed routine and... HAVE FUN ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig

No, I do not think this rig has been approved by the aviation autorities in western europe, so I don't know anything about this rig. (Does not mean it is bad) Does your country have requirements for skydive equipment. If so please check them. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig

Had a 2 month injury (broken elbow, so my left arm was rather weak) in 2000. At that moment I jumped a stiletto 135 (wingload: 1.35) Took my own gear, because 1) I already had 300+ jumps on this gear 2) Stiletto has a super flare and very low toggle pressure 3) I did not want to add an extra "try-out: to this jump Borrowing a different gear was not even a consideration. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig

Any tips on packing a brand new Sabre 2?
skydiverton replied to darrenspooner's topic in Gear and Rigging
Have fun. Your canopy has a built in sensor and starts sucking air when stress is detected. So don't panic. staying quiet works best. Some alternative methods: 1) use a packer 2) use the canopy as a tent for one week 3) ... ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig -
Paratec is a German brand. Next rig and Twin canopy are ok. www.paratec.de The omega from performance variable (also german) is ok too: www.myskyshop.com. I think prices are about the same as paratec. The Omega is a relative small rig. This might be an advantage when climbing out a C182. And of course the French: Atom/BT80 This rig will be a little more expensive as the Next or Omega but the rig is constructed more durable. (Dutch and french special forces use this rig for special operations) use google to find the website Do you already have a rating. I might recommend you use the same type of rig for training and commercial tandems. Do not switch to much in the beginning, there might be small differences between rigs ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig

Every single spring loaded pilot chute out there loosens up over time, it's just more noticable on external pilot chutes. Thats why they are adjustable. I did design and prototype an adjustable loop system for an internal pilot chute design some time ago but never released it as we sold the business and it didn't matter any more (to me). Mick. I've never experienced a loose pilot chute on my javelin. I check this on a regular base because most of my jumps are from a C206 (cargodoor). On this type of airplane a deploying canopy is very likely to pull you over or thru the stabilo while floating ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
