  1. Just make an exit like in a caravan, only the door is smaller. Put the camera in the back. Place your foot next to his and make an exit facing the prop. If my passenger is not that heavy I do not use the foot in the door. Just swing into the relative wind. Probably you need a couple of jumps to get used to the smaller door. But if you have the right feeling it is very hard to exit instable. Of course I'm talking about a door behind the wheel. Rolling the door very tight also helps in creating more place ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  2. Yes, I'm 70kilos. My DZ has a weight limit of 95kilos for passengers My personal weight limit for passengers is "around 100kg" Once a passenger showed up claiming he was 94kilos, but I estimated him at about 120kilos. This was a moment for me to say sorry. I told the DZO and he measured the weight of the passenger being :115kg ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  3. Serious or feeding Trolls?? For myself, well the only rather scary mal was when I had a hardpull on the droque and had to pull my reserve when accelerating to tandemterminal. Not extreme scary, but also not very relaxed ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  4. Kiss -> That is why my 15 year old car is so reliable. There simply is nothing that can go wrong. Seems there have been issues with this in the past. Caused by a blown seal in an actuator. This seal is designed without a back-up ring. For an LG designer not using back-up rings is the same as a rig manufacturing using a 2 ring system. It can function for a while but you can expect troubles. About turning the wheels before/during retraction. This has been done more often although it would not be my first choise. 5. Bill, Ok, thanks for the info. Unfortunately most european manufacturers have a different view. Almost all are fitted with microlines and because I life in europe the DZowner buys european products (less expensive). I will not tell you I never had a hard opening on a microline tandemcanopy, but overall the openings are nice soft. Your point is clear, thanks for the info. I really like the way you are answering our questions. Should be an example for other manufacturers. If I could choose my own equipment, it would be a sigma rig and main, but hell no DZ is perfect ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig

  12. Just another related question: How many ribcords did the passengers loose? I never tell the passenger to pull the ribcord. Even if I would do it there is a problem, our rigs do not have a secondary ribcord located in a suitable place for the passenger. (It's fixed just below the breakaway pillow) By the way we consider passengers as thrill seeking persons, not as students. Then there is no need to train for a ribcord pull. 16. When you just want to go to work: Japanese bike, cheap, reliable and easy to repair If you want something functional and affordable do not buy italian shit (Ducati/aprilia), they look nice but reliability is not the best in the market. Personnaly I have a small Yamaha diversion 600 to drive to my work mailage: 20+km on a liter and in the weekend well a little trip to the german highway shows 180km/h. Perfect cheap bike for me. I also have a Honda VT500. Perfect bike too, only it get a little old (1985) and needs some repair/maintenace urgently. Planning to restyle this one (skydiver theme) during the coming winter months, any ideas ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  17. Your profile says you are in Romania. Check your national organisation. If there is no national organisation it would be wise to follow the USPA rules. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig

By the way, If I remember correct even some american brand cars use metric fasteners I agree with GET WITH THE TIMES, only the future is metric. 20. Why would you? You can reach the handle with your right hand. No need to complicate your EP. Only on tandemrigs the rsl is considered as your right-hand reserve handle. If your rsl design has velcro on it. Thy to pull the reserve with your rsl before the next repack. Pull the rsl upwards. Pulling forward or down needs a huge amount of force due to shearing the velcro instead of peeling ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  21. When there is a problem in africa due to a corrupt political leader all the dutch help organisations team up and raise money for the good cause and send a lot of money to that country (with a corrupt leader). Now with a disaster in the US caused by a storm. Not much fund raising here in holland. I assume this is due to the left-oriented staff of these organisations that do not like the US. If those F^**^^ng organisations choose the victims they want to help instead of helping the people that need the help I choose not to give them a dime any more. Sending money to help-organisations is really history for me. I will not support these organisations any more! ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig

  24. Some years ago all hardware was made out of steel with a cadmium plating as corrosion protection. I try not to become too technical but cadmium gives a corrosion protection even if the layer is damaged upto the bare material (sacrificial protection). Unfortunately cadmium is very bad for living people. So the use of cadmium is very restricted (Cadmium plating is only allowed is some safety-critical aerospace applications) To solve this problem you can consider 3 options: - Zinc plating -> Not really an option because the layer itself decrades very quickly - Electroless nickel -> Good corrosion protection, only No corrosion protection when the layer is damaged (No sacrificial protection) - CRES -> Corrosion resistant steel. No protective layer, just make the whole part of a corrosion resistant material. 20 Years ago this steel was not strong/tough enough. Due to the material development last decades high strength corrosion resistant steels like 15-5-Ph or 17-4Ph are available at a reasonable price nowadays. With every new design there might pop-up little problems, but after these problems have been solved this might be the best solution. If you want some more specific info about cadmium replacement please send me an e-mail or PM. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  25. Minor detail here, the jumper does not accelerate to get the reserve out of the free bag. The Freebag accelerates/deccellerates away from the jumper, depending on who/how you want to debate it with. Some guys with degrees will tell you that acceleration and deccelleration are the same thing based on relativity. Personally, I don't accelerate up to a stop sign, I deccelerate to it and accelerate away from it. Since you and the pc are travelling at the same speed at the instant of launch, and it then goes slower than you because of drag, I would argue that the pc deccelerates away from the jumper. BTW, the Skyhook is simple, efficient, and an enhancement to jumper safety. The cost is easily justfied, especially on HP mains. Free Offer or not. Yes and the jumper is ACCELERATING towards the earth! You know that big ball you do not want to try to kick out of orbit. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
