  3. QuoteDo you quarter the slider? reply] Please do not do this. There are samples enough from skydivers ending in hospital for not resetting a killed slider or even packing the slider incorrect! ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  4. WHY are you on the list. Find the reason and proof they are wrong. STAY SAFE, HAVE FUN ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  5. In case you have 12 hours for 32jumps That means every 22 minutes a jump without break. You need about 6 minutes to jump, land, take a rig and board again. That means 16 minutes for take-off and flight Well thats nice jumping tandems from 6000ft all day! ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  6. If I jump a rig with a RSL to both risers or a collins lanyard I leave it attached. RSL to one riser: Disconnect (Due to the one side releases earlier situation) Note: according to my licence I'm not required to jump with an RSL on a cypress equipped rig. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig

  8. I agree with you. I do not see any benefits from linked exits with tandems. A handshake in freefall, no problem. But a linked exit not with me! (about 550 tandems) By the way: It is NOT forbidden here in europe. I can do it if I want (as a TI) but why take the extra risk? You do not have a better video if you do linked tandemexits, so what's the advantage? Do whatever exit you want, but do not hold me. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig

  12. Aw, that's easy. The corn is as high as an elephant's eye. Flare around ear level. It's high . Corn can easily make a chopped main or freebag disappear ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  13. Move, The first one I only see circles. The second one only lines. What the f&^*(^k is this. Do not tell me I'm stressed. I get so f^&7ng angry when they tell me I'm stressed. I'm not it's all the other cars that do not drive fast enough. They see me coming and slow down in front of me!!! ^%%^%*%%( ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig

  16. Why do you conclude that the outcome would have been different if the cutaway had been pulled first. Check out the link on post 7 of this thread. This issue is far from settled, and I think it is not right to assert that the answer is obvious. The text states clearly the main bag has been pulled out. and almost all stows were unstowed. That means there was tension on the lines (and risers) With red pulled first these 3-rings would disengage. The main bag and pilot (even if entangled with reserve bridle and pilot) would help opening the reserve. Increasing the chance of an open reserve. Still one point: Find me a fatality where someone pulled red first than silver when dealing with a PC in tow. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  17. Some 15 years ago. The only AAD was the FXC. This AAD is somewhate susceptible for misfires. If you have a rather modern gear your rig is not FXC compatible any more. The modern style AAD's (Cypres1+2 and Vigil) are electronic controlled AAD's These AAD's have very, very little misfires and from those very few misfires the majority is directely related to low opening of the main (technical not a misfire) The risk of having a premature main opening due to bad maintenance of the loop or pocket is way higher The answer which one is better Cypres or Vigil. Well everyone has his preferences. Both AAD's have some features I like and some I do not like (Yes Kim I changed my opinion a little because the Vigil gains more field-experience). It's about the same question as: which car is better a Mercedes or a BMW (Due to my small payroll I do not have the problem to choose beween these cars, my next one will be a VW). I know 3 people who have been saved by their Cypress (Including tandemsaves). I do not know a single person who has had a high altitude opening with their cypres When you are unconsious your body is very relaxed, absorbing the landing more easy. (Your reserve flies in braked configuration) ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  18. Perhaps in the US the rigger can decide. In other countries the manufacturer is allowed to say. Only this, this and this reserve is compatiple with our rig. The Quick is a reserve. Not a main. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  19. I know some people that are genuinely afraid of AADs. These are people that can afford them, but don't want to jump them. One was a guy that had an FXC misfire on him at high altitude. Ask a little further why they do not have a cypres and in the end they will admit it's $$$$ There have been a lot of premature reserve openings on rigs without AAD's. According to this jumping with a reserve is dangerous!! ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
  20. Correct, and even than there is nothing wrong with pulling red and silver. Very simple: 1 procedure, works always. At 120MPH there is simply no time to calculate the odds. For the people who think using only silver with a pilot over your head: http://www.dropzone.com/fatalities/Detailed/85.shtml Please convince me not to pull red first (Only real occurences that can be checked please, not oppinions) By the way I'm talking about sport rigs now, not tandem ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig

  22. Question is easy, answer not. Depends of: Your weight Canopy type Canopy size I can stall mine very easy with the steering toggles (Well a stiletto 107). Very funny. There is always at least one person thinking I have a problem and have to breakaway. On the other hand stalling a sabre 170 (with only steeringlines) is not so easy (I'm 70kg) I've stalled (till collapse) almost all canopies I've flown including ones a tandemcanopy in an attempt to clear a tension knot in 3 A-lines. (1A-line de-knotted, leaving a small controllable distorsion which was easy managable. Saved me a breakaway) ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habit, Especially when you are jumping a sport rig
