  1. the two parts which fire the remote are on the second picture down. If you count those wires on the bridge from left to right, there are 10. Its wire 1 and wire 5 that close the circuit, so thats where you solder the wire to. Hope you get it working!
  2. Sorry, cant do pics, I already siliconed it to my helmet but here is where i found out how to do it. http://thehowzone.com/how/D70-Remote/2 awesome instructions. I didnt make the jack like this guy, i just chopped the plug off my tongue switch and soldered the wires straight onto it. Works a treat.
  3. OK people - SUCCESS!! I managed to find out which circuitry corresponded with the shutter release on the other side of the board on the central processor, so have soldered, tested, mounted the control to my helmet and the D40x is officially JUMPABLE - YAY!
  4. Ok, I took apart the remote and cut the end off the tongue switch and stripped the wires back. When i hold the wires on the exposed corresponding parts of the circuit board, it works and takes a picture when i press the tongue switch. Only problem is, I tried to solder it but the solder wouldnt take to the board. Im thinking either the soldering iron i tried to use was too big or the solder (tin/lead) is not compatible with the metal used on the board. When i figure out how to make it happen ill let you al know!
  5. So... i just bought a Nikon D40X and im wondering how i can wire it up to a tongue switch - does anybody have any ideas? Zee, how did you do yours?

  15. Hi People I need to put an order in for a bunch of camera gear to set up a couple of helmets and was wondering if anyone knew of a good place. These are the goods I want to order 2 pairs of Flex Z mini goggles 1 Larsen and Brusgaard Newton Concentric Ring Sight 2 Larsen and Brusgaard Newton Sights 1 Tongue switch 3 bonehead chincups 1 set of mounting hardware for a ring sight The only place I can find that has them all is flyvertical.com but they dont reply to my emails so could be dodgy. Does anyone know any other suppliers that have a good rep?
  16. Hi All Thanks for your comments. They are constructive which is great. I work for Fibrezone and we are always open for comments and ways to improve directly from the people who use our helmets. ITDiver, even though we have sold this camera box (Hi Rollr X) to a couple of tandem camera jumpers who have done well over 500 jumps with it and never complained, we have been looking at other fasteners for a while for this box and see your point about snagging. Athough very unlikely it is always a possibility so will definitely look into that and find an alternate fastener. About the lip on the helmet for the camera box, the box sits flush with the helmet with no gaps and for a line to get snagged here would definitely be unlucky! Most of our competitors have systems which are much more prone to line snags around this area but I wont go into detail and start sledging our opponents but will consider it as it is obviously a concern of skydivers. As Mr2mk1g says, safety is always high on the list for skydivers is a great marketing strategy and designing safe, strong, comfortable workable helmets and boxes is in our best interests so thanks again for the input, oh and the chincup is on its way so stay tuned!
