I WAS AT THE RANCH TODAY!! :) YEAH! Not a great day to jump... made two gravity checks and winds were like a drunken woman.. Loud and unpredictable!! I also made some horrendous skydiving mistakes... I am an advanced-beginner too big for his shoes. It is a very bad thing to track under the plane!!!! I seem to be going backwards in my safety as my number of jumps increases! Hey! I went to the keys boogie back in 2000 and it #$($ing rocked! :) Unfortunately back then I couldn't land on the beach, however it was some of the sweetest jumps I have ever made! I had never landed on such a small dz with sooooo many canopies! (Casa flights rule!) Ever stop to think and forget to start again

I can't say that I did this... of course! ;) But I am a pilot and know of people.. ;) ;) that have made many phone calls from a Cessna 172 as well as one instance under canopy at 5k a call was placed to say "Hi Mom"!!! I did hear a rumor that placing a call at that altitude could overload multiple towers as it continued to seek the best signal from multiple towers. dun no though Ever stop to think and forget to start again

This is the first time I have heard of such a large canopy behaving so badly. I have a pillow reserve and cutaway handle and was thinking about switching at least the cutaway back to the D-ring for ease finding and pulling. Reading your post gives me a little more reasone to do that. I have 170+ jumps and almost never go below 3000... I've never had a cuatway and don't know what my reaction speeds will be. B.S.
