  1. If you're driving on I95, Blue Sky Adventures in St. George is not too far from the highway. http://www.blueskyadventures.com

  3. I'm a Florida girl who was born in Allentown, PA. I was fortunate to spend almost a month last October on our family property helping my grandparents. Our family has had this property for a 150 years. My dad's parents live in the house that my parents built. They actioned off several acres and three houses, so we helped them move stuff out of da attic that hadn't been moved in 80 years. Wonderful time, but as you can imagine, we hit up the stores ... Cases of Beer in one store, Wine and Quick Liquor in another - no cups, soft drinks or snacks in either. I think it has to do with the state, tax business set up. PA is slooowly changing their policies. Two years ago, I filled up a suit case with a case of "fizzy lifting" Mike's Hard Lemonade. I haven't drank it since. I don't know what they're trying to do, but Pennsylvania is abosolutely beautiful. In the summer seasons, it smells gorgeous. In the cold times, it's like a winter wonderland. Gotta to luv it. Don't get fustrated, just and don't go barefoot!
  4. That's so sad. He seemed like he was doing so well in many ways. Annie, Rosalyn, and I will miss his friendship.

Hello ... we're working on several different aspects that entail a "Wingsuit Challenge". Wingsuit flight and pilot abilities may change quickly over the months, so we want to keep our development of the challenge open and post details further down the line, along with the other events. For the good of the flock, the "Wingsuit Challenge" will include something for all flight levels. Further details regarding each event will be published Dec/Jan. I'm looking forward to the Runway Dance Fit!!! We'd like to say "girls only" shhh, but guys are ALWAYS welcome if they want to participate as a dancer. If you want to participate in the spectator lines, you'll have to hold your horses till the weekend.

Hello Everyone, In case you didn't read the ending of the WFFC Survey thread, here is part of my post regarding changes for next year. Individual and vendor pre-registration costs are being reduced. WFFC has a unique set up for pre-registration and will announce the dates and how it works at their timing. This will be most beneficial to vendors, along with individuals who can only attend for a few days. The map will be changed slightly for the benefit of vendors and convenience of jumpers. One change is that the location of the food and entertainment tent will be switched, and the stage in the entertainment tent will be moved from its usual location to the opposite end. This will position the food tent closer to the camping area. There will be hand washing stations! WFFC is working on bringing in a portable swimming pool. Come with a swimsuit! As for my group, we're planning to go to WFFC, then head to the Lost Prairie for some RELAXATION, GREAT SKYDIVES, and some FRESH AIR. Blue Skies! Olivia
  8. I spoke with Beth about the results of the survey and pro-active changes for WFFC 2006. The most major change is the date. WFFC 2006 will be held July 21st-July 30th. Don Kirlin has been in discussion with aircraft owners, dz operators, and other event organizers to affirm that this change wouldn't adversly effect too many. It's fine with me. 10. Kite boarding has a good, challenging feeling to it. I like it for several reasons and would love to talk about it more sometime. Olivia

  13. Annie watched "Ripcords" too! Her brother helped develop the HALO program in Okinawa. Living in the 70's, she was afraid she would die before she had a chance to skydive, so in 1977, she called around and contacted of Don Kelner in Hazelton, PA. She made several skydives, but my dad gave her a parachute for an engagement present, so she took a break to have us. Joshua - Annie threw him out IAD when he was 16. Olivia - 14 Rosalyn - started at Coolidge, AZ when she was 16. Super Luke - too busy heading to the PGA tour. All of you are awesome!
  14. First jump at 14. Three static lines at 16 and AFF that summer at 17. I'm 24 now, so this is my 10th year! Edited to say that I hit the dropzone 15 years ago, but grew up before that watching a news clipping that was taped at the end of Mary Poppins about a Z-hills Easter boogie highlighting Scotty Carbone organzing dives and Norman Kent with Steve Miller's song "Come on & Dance". Congratulations to you for starting in the sport. Blue Skies, Olivia
  15. I'm here! at the place I love to be - while at the moment, in the heat of all the possibilities, the image I picture is Scotty Carbone looking over a table and smoothin' his jaz, along with the food! Here it comes! We have a nice bag of pretty beads and are prepared for a RodriQ initiation. Just a thought for now. Burn! it All!
  16. Okay everyone. One more time before I let go, WHO IS HAVING A GREAT SUMMER?!!!
  17. http://www.airzonextreme.com/videos/Feb2005_BigWayCanopyFormation.wmv The above is a link to video of the big way canopy formation done at the conclusion of the World Cup last February. I decided to post the video in this thread instead of starting a new one. I was not using a tripod, so it's not the smoothest shot. The video shows the break off and a close up at the end. It will come up full screen if you double-click on it.
  18. I believe the outcome of the World Cup determined those who qualified to compete at the World Games. World Cup, World Games, I like AirZoneXtreme Games. Congratulations guys!
  19. Someone must have acquired additional video or stills. I'll post mine in a separate thread when it's ready. I just watched it and counted 28 to 30 participants, building a wide "X" formation. Olivia
  20. Here's Jim in the winner's circle at February's World Cup, along with shots of participants dirt diving one of the largest, high performance canopy formation attempts ever! I have video too and will upload it sometime . . . 21. Crosscountry sunset sounds good. Congratulations FallinWoman on your up & coming wedding! It's beautiful day! Future's so bright, you gotta wear shades.
  22. Okay everyone . . . & to you freeflir29, take care and have a blast in Iraq. You've got courage! I'm off to the pool and then to a Greek Dance Festival, even though the clouds must be perfect in DeLand. So just to add . . . since April, I've experienced a 2nd degree burned, contracted sea lice that causes swimmer's eruption, and had a sickness or two along the way, while spending over 25 hours in intense potty training with my nephew, who is all set now. I know that we all have our challenges, but has anyone ever had sea lice? It still comes back to torment me. I would love to hear some positive thoughts and stories from the gang here at dz.com. Who has tried something new in the sport? RW, flying a wingsuit, skysurfing, RW dives, anything. There is so much we can do with just a little effort, even if it's becoming a more efficient packer.
  23. Money talks & walks - all the way to the plane. Too bad we can't just
  24. I'm happy to say that I am having one of the best summers! The Highs & Lows, it's 2005! What an awesome experience to have another year in the life. One highlight for me is that I swim almost everyday! Mix it in with reading a good book, bicycling, walking, kite boarding, surfing, watching my three year old nephew . . . Priceless. Boogie or not, the day is here . . . Who is a skydiver? Send the love.
  25. Sara, the dearest girl. Full of life, style, kindness, so many wonderful qualities for a young woman to have. She was just a year younger than I. I was looking forward to developing a closer friendship with her. Some of you must be grieving deeply. Maybe just thinking about what Sara would say to us all if she could will help ease the pain. We can allow her testimony to shine some light in our hearts for years to come. Annie and I met her during the Golden Knights demo camp years ago. We have some nice video of her that Danny Koon took for us. She, along with the manifest girls, said a special "Hello" to us Florida girls after we left. Then I spoke with her last summer in DeLand. It was a wonderful conversation that I'm thankful to have had. It solidified to me that she was a deep and thoughtful person. I'm not sure that we knew Ron. From the photos, he looked like a vibrant, fun loving person. We're so sorry for the loss of these two people. Olivia & Annie
