The diplomatic discussion on using the system to your advantage.
Darius11 replied to rhys's topic in Speakers Corner
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=douchebag #4 You’re describing a behavioral trait that I have always wanted to find a name for. “Douchebag” is a good word for it but not perfect. I understand what you’re saying. Its much like the greedy bankers, they constantly try to find ways to stay in-between the lines of the law, but at the same time manipulate the system to satisfy there greed. The Wal-Mart policy is set so most people can feel confident making a purchase there. Your right that they are hoping your feeling or emotions will keep you from returning. However I think you got the name of the feeling wrong. Its called honesty. When someone lies, or takes advantage of a system for another reason they are lying. Yes the cashier did not ask you what your plans were but you knew and decided to proceed anyway. That’s the personality that I have always looked down on. It’s like always asking for a free sample just because you can. Now you are within you legal right to do so, but I am in my legal right to think that’s a douchebag move. The point of life is not just to take as much as you can. I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain -
Stop all of it. Simply not worth the risk, if we have another spill like this just one more in the next 100 years its still not worth it IMO. We need to get off oil simple as that, it will runout anyways so lets find another way. I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain

I am with the others who have posted. I don’t pretend to know when a humane life is a humane life, and would love to protect life. At the same time I think it is a personal choice that one should make for them self. I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain -

You think if i write this "Again the police can not walk around asking people for proof of citizenship unless they are already looking at the person for other reasons." "Again the police can not walk around asking people for proof of citizenship unless they are already looking at the person for other reasons." How is speaking English a sign of citizenship? There is no requirement for citizens to learn English. Yes there is. You have to take a test in English. and you have to write English in front of an immigration officer. The only way you are exempt from the test is if you have an illness, or if you are over 65. Citizenship is irrelevant. It is legal status. You can be a perfectly legal resident alien, and a perfectly legal non-resident alien. There's no language requirement on legal alien status. well my interview was all in English in an American embassy, but you are correct they did not give my mom and dad who I was translating for a hard time at all, and there is no test, but a huge application. But as a legal alien you do get a green card( actually pink back in my time) that’s the size of a drivers license. I don't see why you cant have that on you. Again the point is that police will be able to enforce immigration law, while before they have been prohibited from enforcing such laws. Again the police can not walk around asking people for proof of citizenship unless they are already looking at the person for other reasons. I personally think this was a law that should have always been enforced, and was not for PC reasons. There is no question in my mind that if you are here illegally you are breaking the law and the law needs to be enforced. My solution has always been to have punishment for business that higher illegal, if you cant get a job being illegal or you cant get social services then you wont come. Wow your right, i didn't even think that we have people born here who do not ever learn english, but honestly they didn't got to public school? What percent of people are born in the USA and are an adult now who do not speak english?????? I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain -

reasonable suspicion is a soft definition. If you came upon a person speaking a foreign language who has no form of identification, would you not wonder if they were a US citizen or a citizen of another country? The thing is you can only ask for proof of citizenship if the person you came upon is already engaged in an activity that would require police to have a word with you. That’s a huge point that has been left out. You can't pull someone over for driving while brown, but if someone is speeding and is pulled over and you suspect him or her to be illegal you can ask for proof of citizenship, and enforce the law. You could not before. It was ILLIGLE for police to do that before now its not. I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain -

You are correct. It has But everyone needs to understand why the Dem side of the isle is so opposed to this And it has nothing to do with civil rights It has everything to do with votes and elections I believe the law simply allows police to ask for proof of citizenship once they already have a person of interest. For example if you pull a drunk driver over you use to not be able to ask EVEN when obvious that the person is not from here (like does not speak English) for proof of citizenship, now you can. Doesn’t sound that crazy to me. The law is not much different then the federal law. It has always been illegal to be here illegally believe it or not. Now the police can actually enforce the law. I don’t see it as that crazy. I have to say that there is a lot of spin on this, so people are just getting the most outrageous views on the law and it is a knee jerk subject for many. I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain -
I think the key word there is devout and if that means intolerant as well. For me personally I don't care what religion my SO is as long as she doesn’t try to force it on me, and I personally don't ever try to force my view ( which I am constantly questioning any way). I think forcing some one to choose a faith is like forcing someone to love you. Its just bull shit. I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain

+1 to that man. I think of runing away as i am runing away some times. I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain

Why is that? I could understand if they had issues with all religions, but if your singling out just Islam?????? Too much fox news? Too much 24? Is your grandmother and mother atheists or just think there religion is the “right one”? Sorry if I sound like a dick! Its not really because of how your family feels about Islam but more about growing up. Your mom dad whatever are just people and just like people there not perfect there not always right. You should get married when you realize that the woman in your life that you claim to be the one is number one on the list. That doesn’t mean you have to be mean or disrespectful to your mom, however it does mean that you live your life the way you and her choose, and not to the standard of others. I don't think any woman wants to marry a man who is looking for his moms approval more then hers. I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain

I don't know man, I think they read the Koran and because that’s their first exposure to it they literally get the religion without the progression of 1500 years. Or like many they have someone else who has ulterior motives telling them what’s what!? I also think some people are just fucked up. I really don't know. I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain

ABSOLUTELY NOT A RACIAL REMARK. This was a statement regarding the extremist group "revolution muslim" and terrorist groups similar. I mean no offense to the Muslim religion and community. Good for you man. Islam or whatever your religion is when you try to force others to be like you YOU CAN GO FUCK YOUR SELF. These ass holes are in NY and use the freedom this country offers to restrict others freedom of speech by threats. I want one of these ass holes to go to a country in the middle east and say something negative about one of their leaders. see what happens to them. By the way i am Muslim and what offends me is ass holes hijacking my religion only so they can bring more hate to the world. Fuck them ALL, I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain

Huge South Park fan. Funny side note: A few months ago I was talking to my GF about the super best friend’s episode. An old episode where they show Mohammed. I was saying I am kind of happy that no big deal was made of it but I thought hmm is this something I would even want to mention? Actually decided not to bring it up. Now they make this episode. I just think its sad that they can make fun of all the religions but they have to be worried when making fun of Islam. We really have some stupid fucks who take them selves way to seriously. People need to chill out I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain

***According to Islamic law (when you speak of any religious law you have to leave out rational, if you find some it is there as a coincidence) It is possible for a person to want to be a woman or a woman to be a man, however fucking someone in the ass is wrong. Also in Islam there is literally a law which basically says you can do what you want as long as you don’t get caught. Basically stating that you can live your life the way you wish inside your home, and as long as you do not effect society you are fine. But once they find out and others know then you are in trouble. As stated by Shah we also have premarital sex in Islam. And it is basically works the way he says. There is amount discussed a time limit, and also records kept incase there is a child. It is called Seghdeh. However I would not call the current Iran government an Islamic government. It is simply a way to keep control and power. They show the worst aspects of religion as is ofthen the case where one person has absoult power. I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain

How many US citizens here paid no federal income tax for 2009?
Darius11 replied to chutem's topic in Speakers Corner
Good for you man, i have never had a refund that big not even close. We ended up having to pay and we did not make much money at all this year. Worst year income wise. No home, No Kids, and not married i think that may be why. No complaints either. I like the standard of living my taxes and the taxes of others enable us to have.
