That makes perfect sense to me we all have self-interest in mind however the ethical question posed if “insert action” is right or wrong should not be judged or swayed by self-interest. When an action X is deemed wrong by group A, but at a later date group A commits action X in self interest Action X is still wrong even if it served the interest of group A. I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain

Situational ethics? That’s deciding what’s right or wrong depending on the situation, But when the only variable is race, color, or religion what do we call that? Sorry I just think your trying to find a more nice and expectable to say racists. Situational ethics is not ethics at all but hypocrisy. What am i missing? I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain

I am sure most people who are racists believe they have a legitimate reason to be racist and may not even consider themselves as such. However if the action is the same, and the only variable are the people who are doing said action and you have two different reactions to it. Guess what you’re a racists. I see that on here all the time. I agree with the OP he is right if I just switched the news stories to Iraqis torturing American solders all of you who are supporting this action and thinking of every excuse to make it ok would switch sides in an instance. What do you call that? If we were invaded on some false BS reason and we had Americans hiding in the bushes to kill the invading army we would not call them insurgents, but freedom fighters. Yet we have a bunch of people who seem to be unaware of there bias and lack of rationale. I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain

Who has to say its torture for it to be torture in your book? Or is this like Nixon when bush and cheney do it its no longer illegal in your book. as for talking points, when was the last time we suspended habeas corpus? I think that’s your issue you can not take FACTS that don't support your point of view. I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain

They broke so many laws and raped our constitution I just wish they had the decency to see them selves for who they are. When Cheney speaks I see him as Madoff trying to talk about business ethics. Its just too much hypocrisy and the fact that he is unaware of it is what’s scary to me. I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain

I am sorry man but respect is the last thing I have for him. He never answered questions when he was one of the people in charge, and most of the administration answered most questions with I don’t recall. When he speaks of what the government needs to do now I think we should all listen and do the opposite. I mean is there anyone who can be proud of the past administration? I can understand not agreeing on some points but can you really sit there and say Bush and Cheney were a good administration? As for keeping us safe, I can understand that because there has not been a robbery or theft in my neighborhood sense I moved there 6 years ago. I think its all my doing. Oh and if there is a robbery or theft some times soon it had nothing to do with me. Love that logic, the I am always right and great mindset. Hey who was in power when we were attacked on 9-11? I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain

A relationship can be anything two or more consenting adults agree too. As long as there is honesty (which is much easier said then done) there should not be a problem. Personally I know it’s not for me because the thought of another man with my woman is excruciating, I think sex is best when its one on one with a deep emotional connection between the partners. but thats just me. I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain

Most of the music is played by Brandon Small, and I believe Tommy Blacha plays the drums. And they do shred! the sweeps Skwisgaar(Small) does are insane. Its crazy, funny show but the music is actually great. I think this show was made for me. I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain -

If they don’t know me personally and decided they like me or hate because I am Muslim there ignorant either way. They should get to know me before making up there mind. I like some, and don't like some of them. Its not a straw man when you use less then 1% of the Muslim population, to judge all of them. That actually is the exact definition of being a racist or at the least is a racist view. I bet for every Muhammad you find I can find 10 who is a Dr., a professor, a scientist, or other positively contributing member of our world. You just have so much hate for brown people that you can never see the good that they do, and you are incapible of seeing their side. I know you don't think you’re a racist (I don’t think you are but your online attitude sure makes you look like one.) but if you walk like a duck and quack like a duck......... I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain

Ok reading some of the comments on that website is disturbing. Can we have a law that states one must inform every one they plane to feed if there is semen in there food? I think that would be great, cause I have a feeling a few people would be pissed to find out the dumplings they just had where made from Pig semen. WTF I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain

She was asked a question and she told her true opinion in a none insulting way. Her options were to Lie, or tell the truth. This was not some person holding a God hates fags sign. She was asked, I don’t believe she could have even said can I have another question. So the dude calling her a dumb bitch is the bitch who is whining because someone doesn’t agree with him. This was a beauty pageant and the guy who asked the question was out of line from the start. I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain

Sexism, is it ok when it has positive outcome? Or is it always wrong?

Its not like it was illegal for her to become a race car driver, some jobs attract certain types of people. I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain -

I think if we decide that we will give more merit to someone’s action simply because of there sex then we are moving away from equality. If you want to not be treated differently that is fine in my book. If you want special treatment and recognition because of your sex sometimes but then want to be viewed as a person and not a sex when it is convenient then you’re a hypocrite (not you personally) The woman players get the same amount of money as the men but play a lot less tennis. This has been an issue that has been brought up specially by John McEnroe. Its not just tits and ass. She can drive, but if you give someone who got a C the respect and opportunity of someone who got an A+ are you not saying that yes there is a difference and we are not equal? Are woman naturally handicaped when it comes to driving so when they do avrage they should be treated as if they did great? I don't think so. The whole wind in the hair and the over the top attempted at being sexy is a bit much when your selling royal purple. I just lose all respect for her (and yes I know she doesn’t care). I see her as prostituting her self. If you want to be respected as a driver then drive. It’s obvious that she is getting the attention because of her tits and ass. I just find that as disturbing as woman not being allowed to vote, or not getting equal pay for equal work. Inequality is inequality. I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain -

The background for this question. I was watching the Indy car race, and every time I have watched it there is commercial after commercial with Danica Patrick talking about how hardcore she is or some BS. The problem I have with this is that she is not a xtimes world champion, I believe she is 10th this season and has one race win overall. So she is getting the attention, and the endorsement deals for one reason her sex. Yet I don’t see outrage I bet she has a huge feminist following. I have the same issue with Female tennis players getting paid the same as the men for doing less work. Does this and other similar situations bother any of the feminist we have on here? Or is it not sexist if the outcome is positive or has financial reward? Kind of the same logic as if the hot guys stairs at your chest he is cute and knows what he wants, but the ugly dude who did the same thing is the creep and needs to be reported. I am curios in all opinions, specially the ladies of dz.com I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain -
I think any law abiding citizen should have the right to own guns and arm themselves. I believe that is a constitutional right not only for self defence but to never be under the rule of tyranny. Government can and in history has gotten out of hand. An armed public is less likely to be submissive. The reason i have voted for politicians that go against my belief about guns is i agreed with some of there other view points. You cant win them all i felt i had to compromise because the ones who support my view about guns almost support none of my other views. I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain
