I am guessing that you are a beginning jumper and, therefore, deserve the benefit of the doubt. This post sounds like you have a personal agenda. If, however, your allegations are true, this is not the place for you to express your concerns. Dropzone.com is where, unfortunately, many people come to stir up excrement. I suggest that you do not join that throng. USPA, the FAA, and UPT (if the DZ uses their gear) have personnel who would be more likely to be in a position to address this issue. Anyone suggesting that this was other than an intentional stunt, is smoking three "meals" per day. This is criminally negligent. Steve Rafferty

You're all a bunch of pups to me. I still have a huge passion for tandem skydiving after over 13K tandems. Only did 650 in 2014, though, so I must be slowing down. Can't wait for my next jump. What a flippin' privilege! If you leave the plane without a parachute, you will be fine for the rest of your life.

What is the leading cause of tandem fatalities?
raff replied to cbassmnm's topic in Tandem Skydiving
We would do well to remember that the OP has no profile info and could very well be on a phishing expedition. This is NOT the forum for such a question. If, in fact, this is a legit inquiry, the OP should contact the various manufacturers or USPA and ask for a list of current examiners. All of the above opinions simply supply grist for the legal mill. If you leave the plane without a parachute, you will be fine for the rest of your life. -
how many active skydivers are there world wide??
raff replied to gstutt's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I've done some extensive research and have come up with the following: 82.5% of all statistics are made up on the spot. If you leave the plane without a parachute, you will be fine for the rest of your life. -
How do you find your cut away canopy

How do you find your cut away canopy
raff replied to Safelandings's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I use a version of this. When I have a cutaway, or see one on the load, I say to myself, "Iota land with that." So I do. Problem solved. If you leave the plane without a parachute, you will be fine for the rest of your life. -
"Crowdsourcing" the dz.com BS detector
raff replied to peek's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I think people should have more jumps than posts, but that's just me, I guess. If you leave the plane without a parachute, you will be fine for the rest of your life. -
..but not, of course, about yourself (See Dunning-Kruger effect) If you leave the plane without a parachute, you will be fine for the rest of your life.

Evidently I have forgotten a lot about skydiving, because when I had 1000 jumps I knew it all. If you leave the plane without a parachute, you will be fine for the rest of your life.

I have always told people that the DZ needs to have a waiver on file reflecting your age of legal majority, and that I would never impugn your integrity by asking for proof of what you aver. If you leave the plane without a parachute, you will be fine for the rest of your life.

Heads up to AFF-I's in New Jersey or Nearby
raff replied to AviationTD's topic in Skydivers with Disabilities
Perhaps the dumbest comment I've ever seen on this forum. Sounds like it's time for YOU to quit skydiving for money. If you leave the plane without a parachute, you will be fine for the rest of your life. -
"Don't look at the car. Don't look at the car Don't look at the car. Oh, Jeez; you looked at the car!" RIP JG If you leave the plane without a parachute, you will be fine for the rest of your life.

It wouldn't matter to me, as I'm not conducting a course for a 3-yr, 500-jump person anyway. Unfortunately, I suspect that this might put me in the minority. While it may be an unfair generalization, I have long considered the 50 - 1000 jump person to be squarely in the "dead zone.'' i.e. the teenager of skydiving; immortal, unapproachable, knows it all, etc. I have met many jumpers who do NOT exhibit these qualities, but many more who do. It's just not worth it to me. If you leave the plane without a parachute, you will be fine for the rest of your life.

Have you ever heard the saying "Who you are crashes so loudly overhead that I cannot hear your words."? It is crystal clear that you have a beef with some/all of the DZ staff. You have a crystal-clear agenda. So, even if some portion of what you say is true, you are not to be taken seriously, given your huge unvarnished bias. p.s. You need to learn a little about "relative wind" before posting pictures of what you might consider to be questionable drogue tosses. It is clear that the TM in question is a jerk. Unfortunately, it would appear that you are also. If you leave the plane without a parachute, you will be fine for the rest of your life.

I've got an idea. Let's kill people who kill people to prove that killing people is a bad thing. Cap Punishment: what a joke! If you leave the plane without a parachute, you will be fine for the rest of your life.

Thank you, Dan Quayle! (Actually, it's chelloze) If you leave the plane without a parachute, you will be fine for the rest of your life.

- no driving, riding, skating, jumping, or pretty much anything fun until this gets figured out. " Nothing in there about alcohol or sex. They're pretty fun. Best wishes to Lisa. I hope it turns out to be just a spurious blip on the screen. If you leave the plane without a parachute, you will be fine for the rest of your life.

Most of the people on this group were not alive 50 years ago today. A few will never forget that day. It is always sobering to realize that things which must vomited back on an a US History exam for some, are, for others, as real as what they had for breakfast. For me, the three non-personal dates which are most burned into my memory are 11/22/63, 1/28/86, and, of course 9/11. Most on this group remember only the latter, just as surely as said date will be the answer on a test one day for their children. The inexorable passage of time is a weird thing. If you leave the plane without a parachute, you will be fine for the rest of your life.

Go to Eloy and hit up the Axis Flight School, stay in the Skyrider Inn. Tunnel on site and exceptional coaching. for both sky and tunnel I would have to second the above recommendation. Eloy is certainly not a "coast" if you're looking for scenery, but you will find everything else for which you are looking. If you leave the plane without a parachute, you will be fine for the rest of your life.

What's the real cost of a tandem rig per jump?
raff replied to FreeflyIndian's topic in Tandem Skydiving
All of this information is available in each of the respective mfgrs manuals. Just for kicks, I did a thorough analysis of this a few years ago, and I came up with $22-25/jump. Many of the responses I have seen ignore lots of costs. There are costs associated with AADs (four-year, battery, etc. not to mention purchase), then there are repack costs unless you are a rigger, not to mention the pack job for every single jump. Many of these can be performed by the owner, who would then not be JUMPING the rig i.e. making money. All in all, it's a loser. Having said that, I suspect that there is not one compliant operation in America vis-a-vis cycle times for all of the components. Now all of the "not me" (living in denial) responses, flame away. If you leave the plane without a parachute, you will be fine for the rest of your life. -
Rats! I can't even do a 450 front riser hook with this old dog! How's a guy to have any fun?!? If you leave the plane without a parachute, you will be fine for the rest of your life.

Non USPA rated TI taking out students
raff replied to skygypsie's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
This is just like the MLB/steroid thing. There are hundreds of unrated folks doing tandems. USPA and many DZOs just merrrily whistle there way along, all the while paying lip service to rules and regs which continue to go unenforced. If ever random ramp checks for USPA currency, FAA physicals, USPA ratings, or surprise urine tests were to be performed, a lot of operations would come to a screeching halt. This ain't happening for obviou$ reason$. OTOH, following a vindictive personal agenda is no more admirable in my book. Flame on. If you leave the plane without a parachute, you will be fine for the rest of your life. -
I don't do head-down because, after 15K jumps, I'm too bull-headed to allow some kid with 200 jumps teach me how to do it. I've seen 11-yr old tunnel rats who could teach me also. If you leave the plane without a parachute, you will be fine for the rest of your life.
