lost skydive gear can you help?
taffclarke replied to taffclarke's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Hi everybody I hope some body can help me, and I think I put this on the wrong page but my wife is desperate (it was her first toy she brought) and upset so…. We were traveling on a Lufthansa flight from Dallas fort worth via Frankfurt to Israel. During the move one of our bags was ripped and her new weight belt was lost. Now I have tried calling Lufthansa customer services, emailed customer services and faxed customer with no luck. To me it is impossible in an age of increased security for them not to be able to a> find it as it is an object that would stand out due to its weight and b> with modern technology internet cell phones and communications, not be able to reply to me. I either want to make an insurance claim or get a telephone number of somebody who I can talk to get an answer and some help. So is there anybody that works for this airline who can help? Skydivers stick together! So I hope so. Blue skies safety enjoyment learning, sel the sport. dont kill it. -

I was grumpy at a previous dropzone and I couldn't work out why for some time. I was doing 1000 work jumps a year, I was paid well and on time and was living in what I consider to be the most beautiful part of the world. What was getting me down? It was the pressures to jump when it was not appropriate, being told by the DZ owner that my ratings achieved in Australia were worthless an that I would never be a tandem Instructor there because of a landing incident I had 1500 jumps before, not being able to take time off to train at a dropzone where a days worth of sport jumping could actually be done! this was in fact a Tandem/Sausage factory. What did i do? I left and got a job elsewhere! Rhys i read this twice and thought yep thats me so i have to agrea with you, when i meet a new student its not another piece of meat to me. i personaly am never happier than when i am in the air, its being on the ground and having to deal with the crap that gets me. now i'm married of course and yet i still love that feeling of SAFELY introducing people to the sport i love. i am more selective now and safety consiuse as well but that goes with getting old i guess. well said RHYS couldnt agree with you more blue skie's safety enjoyment learning, sel the sport. dont kill it.

I just can’t decide whether to do the w.a.r.p. Program yet or wait a bit You know: Washing. Or separating the colors from the whites and when to use softener Accepting the fact that I can go out with the mates every night to shoot pool and drink Risk free compliments for the wife on hair dress and if the bottom looks too big in……… Poker nights and how not to go, without looking like a woosy Any thoughts lol safety enjoyment learning, sel the sport. dont kill it.

I am not sure of the legal ramifications of such a move, I think jump shack might have something to say about it. however the rsl system is there if ever a tandem master has a right hand incapacitated or can not for any other reason pull the reserve handle! To me it sounds like a panic response to an incident this weekend at sky kef were a tandem master had two canopies out, since the rest of the info I have is rumor I will refrain from further comment on that. However removing the RSL or tampering with the safety features bad bad bad! What if the reserve handle cannot be pulled? What will the tandem master do then? No rsl safety system to back you up? safety enjoyment learning, sel the sport. dont kill it.

hi dude just got the pc 110 god its amazing more buttons and gadgets than you can shake a stick at. brief summary copy from dv to memory stick (makes grabbing images dead easy) plugs straight in to your usb port (bad point you have to have firewire in to download straight from dv) sold seperate. supper night shot. (the wide angle lense cost a lot of $ but is worth it as a poor quality lense will not permit nightshot. if you get a visitor from the uk you can put the pal tape in and play back with the flick of a button. comes with all the leads for grabing images and a basic software package the camera then acts as a external hard disk labled f drive on my laptop. a good buy but worth reading up on. visit sony.com/dcr-pc110 for more info. ps its even got a flash for still photo work,
