  7. I don't post much, but I had an awesome friday. It was my first time flying at night and landed by myself. At the time I was taking off, the moon was framed by the san gabriel mountains. It was a beautiful night. we're extremely fortunate not to know precisely the kind of world we live in. -W.Szymborska
  8. Where did you learn at? I've been trying to decide which dive shop to do the padi ow cert lately.
  9. If you have the cash, I saw a burton that was made out of aluminum and carbon fiber in the magazine "outside". It looks pretty schweet, but it was $900 though. we're extremely fortunate not to know precisely the kind of world we live in. -W.Szymborska
  10. Have you considered 600 standards? I started off on a ducati monster, but wished I had known about the suzuki sv650. There's a lot of beginners starting on used ones, plus you'll have more fun and more room to expand on the the vtwin. Try out www.socalsvriders.org. There's a lot of great people there. I'll also jump on the msf bandwagon. I went to the msf course with knowledge of how to ride a bicycle only, and then took it slowly from there. You need it, even if you're just riding a 250. we're extremely fortunate not to know precisely the kind of world we live in. -W.Szymborska

    China

Take the land/cruise trip. It's much more scenic. Cruising down the three gorges brings to mind the scenic beauty from crouching tiger, hidden dragon and hero. I don't know how much the yangtze has changed since I was there four years ago though. The overland route is mostly composed of a long tour bus ride with occasional stops to see local points of interest. Plus, there isn't really that much to do in Beijing, although xian has some nice scenery also. we're extremely fortunate not to know precisely the kind of world we live in. -W.Szymborska
