  1. Not quite sure who we met there....there was no skydiving for 3 days so it's a bit of a drunken haze....But we did meet some bloke called Dave (quite tall, has a little girl) and someone else called Simon...And this French coach of theirs who ownes a Casa..all of his very own! Anyway, my Skybeetch team fellows and I are keen to get on down to Langar since it would make a nice change of scenery, since you've put your picture up here I'll keep an eye out for ya ...We'll be the 3 brunettes funnelling their exits... laters dudes sB uK
  2. Alternatively, for you UK sky dudes, there is allegedly a boogie at Langer in May which promises to be a reet larrrf... Admittedly, Nottingham lacks the coffee houses and nude laydees of the 'Dam, nor does it possess the heart-lifting views and blue seas of Empuria, but hey, it'll be cheaper! And the state of my bank balance having returned from a windy weekend in Espana (why??? why????), this could be a deciding factor... Not sure if I'm going but I met some nice 8-way team chaps from langar while I was in Empuria and they said it would be coooool..Let me know ladies and gents.. Skybitch UK (to avoid confusion)

    Like a Rock

.....or how about trying to modify one of those Birdman suits? Or is that a bit extreme?
  4. One of the (ex) pilots at our DZ had to make an emergency landing and ploughed into a cow....dohhhhh..... And I have also heard of people colliding with birds under canopy....But nothing more exciting than that... We here in the UK currently have a Foot and Mouth disease crisis anyway - meaning anyone who lands off (regardless of impacting with cows!) could be charged with a £5,000 fine by the ministry of agriculture...that's just for landing in mud that an infected cow might have walked in! Bad news eh? SB
  5. Well guys, have to say I'm surprised....I KNOW it's sensible not to jump with a hangover (and certainly not if you're still pissed!) but my experience suggests loads of jumpers get wasted until all hours and start jumping again first thing...For instance, at a recent boogie, we were on the lash till 4pm and up for the first lift at 9pm....Sensible? No. Reality? Yes. Maybe it's a European thing...they do say we're all a lot less healthy over here.... SB
  6. Apologies to my Perris-based namessake, but have to say I've been Skybitch for a long while. And just a bitch for even longer...ha ha You guys don't even like Marmite though, do ya? Maybe it just wouldn't work out..... The Original Skybitch

    4 way

Thanks guys, will let you know which name is approved by the team.....would say check us out at the Nationals but don't think I want to draw attention too much! Skybitch
  8. Huh, got my parachute packed by a DZ packer a month back.....The screaming line-over malfunction was a joy to behold...not...Luckily I wasn't jumping it on that occasion, but the guy who was has a great broken leg now.... I pack my parachute... SB
  9. ha ha haaaaaaHA HA HAAAAAAha ha pwhaaaaahhhhhhhHHHHAAAAAA!!!!
  10. Gotta say, you'd expect spin-stopping to have been a wee bit earlier on in his skydiving career... Maybe he spent a lot of those 45 jumps on the rope? Skybitch
  11. Aha, the key word here being 'recommended'......but I want the gory truth!!! Are we really this safe? Always?
  12. I live in England. The weather sucks. This means that half my time at the DZ is often spent sitting around drinking tea, trying to spot blue holes, griping about the frostbite on my fingers and eating crap. Thus - I think the only way out of this hell is to come and do some jumping in the US for 6 moonths to a year....Does anyone know how easy it is to get work off the books (no green card, y'see), or pick up some employment at US Dropzones? Thought we might get a combi van and do a DZ tour across America......Any tips/ hints/ideas???? Don't get me wrong, I love England and my Club rrrrocks! But.....I need to see more BLUE SKIES!!! Would also like to spend some time getting world class coaching over in the States too.... Thanks, Skybitch
  13. I'm prompted to write this by a work colleague who asked me if it was illegal for skydivers to drink the night before they went jumping... Yes, I, like you, spewed coffee all over my computer as I laughed heartily at such an absurd suggestion (my drinking club has a skydiving problem, if you get my drift)....But was wondering.....do any of you guys put limits on when you stop drinking the night before if you're intending to be on the 9am lift? SB

    4 way

If anyone can think of a good name for a 4-way team made up of 3 chicks and a bloke I would be eternally grateful....the only suggestions we 've had so far have been lewd...which isn't a bad thing providing there's also some spark of wit there, I feel. Thanks skybeeetch

    Boogies

Hey guys, Just out of interest, was wondering how many of you guys regularly go to boogies away from your own club? And those of you who do, any general impressions as to how well boogies are organised, (re load organisers, safety issues, DZ briefs) friendliness of Club members and benefits (or dangers?!) of going to boogies? I'm asking because I've been to 3 boogies since I started last July and I've found it a very different experience to my regular DZ weekends. Cheers all, blue skies, hot spots and sleek swoops, SB
