Ratings and Rigging

  1. I realize this is one hell of a lot to ask... but if someone could post their opinion on the canopies they've jumped, with ratings and goods and bads, it would be SO helpful. Would these ratings be sufficient? Ease of packing: Opening: Landing: Performance: Maybe add something... the reason I decided to post is because asking doesn't hurt, and second, because I got really confused. Every producer marks their canopies as the best, the coolest, etc... and if it is fairly understandable that PD/Icarus canopies are generally good, I have no idea whatsoever about Parachutes de France and other less known producers (anyone jumped Springo for example? was it good, was it bad?)...
  2. Rig rent price is included in aff course here... I'll take a 150 sqf rectangular students rig for the aff course and will continue renting the rig till I come to the usa to buy my very own :)) so I want my own to be as good as possible so I dont have to upgrade soon b/c I wont be able to... I expect to have a little experience by then :)
  3. Hi! I am not much of a skydiver :)) I have currently done 9 jumps, all of then on dome parachutes which I know arent used in the usa... :) I will be coming to the usa next summer, I'd like to buy a complete system and not change it for the next few years... what would you advise me to buy? :) something that's good for both learning (I am very careful and not a risktaker!!) and later for performing... something at least semi-elliptical... the problem is I won't be able to upgrade often, maybe once every 3 or 4 years only... oh btw I weight 130:)) I'll be taking aff course very hopefully soon... based on whatI've read, I think i can relative safely to go for w/l ~1.2-1.3? *hugs* /~R~\
