  1. That is typical of the americans, they play but don't know what the game is called. They have world events in baseball, but only americans take part. Why? Because its called rounders! American "Football" is really rugby. That's why the Australians arn't there at the super bowl. And they would problaly lose the final.... to the Brits As for the sport of showing tits on national TV, the Germans would win hands down
  2. gear rat gear rat...oops sorry lost control for a sec ...just jealousy talking 2 complete rigs, for now. Yeah I'm down to 2 2 video helmets, for now. 1 Gath + 1 Sidewinder 1 video cam (Sony TRV 19). 1 Sony PC6 + Sony PC8 1 still cam (Canon EOS 850). 2 but one not yet mounted 3 jumpsuits (1 is a Birdman, in avitar) 5 jump suits, but I envy your birdman 1 visual Alti (Altimaster Galaxy). 1 also 1 audible alti (Original Dytter). 1 pro track 1 visual/audible alti (Neptune). beat me there a dozen or so assorted goggles. you count them? No jumps since November. November was a dropped/floating hackey from wearing thick gloves and not having a good grip resulting in a reserve ride. Honestly scared me enough to ground myself until it's warm enough, or I'm in a warm enough place, to jump without thick gloves. Ok, I know it's not an awful lot of gear you have there, but you would think you could afford at least 1 pair of decent gloves I have 2 pairs, one for RW in white, the other for cold days.
  3. This is the exact reason why I own at least two rigs Never, ever, be rigless
  4. Actually it seems to have died a death So to collect all the comments together made in this thread I will describe my day. Got a call on my cell phone asking for my excuse why I way not at the DZ at 10 am. Replied, "See you in 2mins" Jumped out of a plane 30 mins laters, no Gun toting idiots tried to shoot me out of the sky. Jumped again with someone with less than 100 jumps, but with a license. They were wearing a frap hat Someone else jumped with a full face helmet that appears to be blind most of the time even with out the helmet. I was in one load, this is a cessna 182, only 4 jumpers, where .. Jumper A had packed jumper B's rig Jumper C had packed jumper A's rig Jumper C was jumping borrowed equipment Who the fuck was jumper D? Guess what? We all lived I was a good day , 6 jumps, beer at the end, and watched "Out of the Blue" with beamer and loud music.
  5. I only changed the subject because I was sick of hearing another helmet debate thread
  6. Well in that case the yanks can only blame themselves for the high homocide rate. They should have followed the brits lead and banned guns. With that we have now turned this around into a Gun Debate Thread
  7. I don't remember being able to go down to asda to pick up a colt 45 in 1984. No, I am sure they were not as easy to get as in the good ole U.S of A
  8. If they were, the Swedes would insist on 500 hours at the shooting range before you could own one. The Brits would inist you wear a Pro-Tec before you fire it.
  9. Maybe if guns were as easily available in Europe as they are in America ours would be just as high.
  10. Well, "Speedy" won't be logging in again ever. I have forgotten the password, answer to the secret question and email address
  11. Are you saying that you need a qualification 1st to do freefly, and then you are not allowed to go head down until you get the next freefly quali ? Jesus, next you'll need SOT1 before you can take a crap in your jumpsuit (Shit On Toilette 1).
  12. Hey me too! Do you think it was the same house?
  13. Edited to add: It means Fear of friday 13th
  14. So please tell me, what happens if a jumper makes a panic/unintentional low turn and biffs in? Is he banned from jumping when he gets out of hospital or what?
  15. Unless you jump in Poland where apparently you don't need any sort of Alti, I would highly recommend getting a visual alti. Then if you intend on doing freefly getting at least one audible as well.
  16. Can you please explain exactly what you mean by this statement? It does not seem to address the question at hand at all.
  17. I can tell the difference between the two...And trust me there is one. I just lost 16 pounds...I can tell under canopy. At around jump #400 I was jumping a stiletto loaded at 1.26. Then I jumped it with 10 lbs of lead. On this jump I also had a bad spot and had to land out. Boy, did I notice a difference between 1.25 and 1.34! But I think the post about 0.2 being small was not meant seriously.
  18. Samhussey lives in the U.K. That's not part of europe either
  19. Hey , at least here we don't start training students on stilettos And we generally pull higher
  20. but only by using statistics I don't look at the statistics, they are depressing enough anyway, I look at what I am doing. When I analyse what I am doing in skydiving it starts to look dangerous. When I look at what I am doing in a car it does not look as dangerous. I survived an impact with a jaguar in my car (Dads car actually , sorry Dad). I hit the other car with enough speed to kill me if I hit the ground. Fortunately all that metal and seat belts took most of the impact so I was pretty much O.K. People mess up at some time or another. Skydiving unlike car driving is not very forgiving of F**k ups.

    Thursday funny

It's grandpa 75th birthday and his son comes up to him and says "I have some good news and some bad news, what do you want first?" Grandpa says the good news. So his son says "I have organised 5 female strippers for your party." Oh great says grandpa and whats the bad news. They are all the same age as you!
  22. Me thinks his instructor said "Sure, buy the Katana and I will let you know when you can jump it. Do you mind if I borrow it in the meantime? No, great stuff!"
