    Nothing like it - Haven't jumped in my birthday suit, but did my 'undie hundie', which I loved so much that I did another one about 50 jumps later. It really is such a good feeling (and I did them both in the South Island of NZ in the middle of winter - snow everywhere!) Can't beat it! Its nice to be important, but more important to be nice.

    Don't let your AFF3 experience get you down - sounds like you did a fantastic job of handling a very difficult situation so early on! All I have to offer in the way of relaxation is to take three very deep, calm breaths as the door opens - its great for the mindset but what people don't realise is that it actually has physical effects to relax you too! Just remember to enjoy yourself and let it come naturally - you obviously have some natural ability as you have already proven to work well in a very scary situation! Well done so far! Its nice to be important, but more important to be nice.

    I'm within your age group, but still older... 21 (22 in Dec). I feel about 30 now though after not jumping for 8 months! Really need to get back up there! Its nice to be important, but more important to be nice.

    Hi BlueSky About that ripcord thing, sounds like it could be that the closing loop on the gear you've been jumping is too small... Do you pack the rig yourself? It might just be that the parachute has not been packed tightly enough to fit in the bag properly...? Before you head up there again, you should just check the rip cord by pulling it out a fraction... Make sure that it is will come out smoothly (just make sure that you push it all the way back in again before you get in the plane!). Sometimes it is just a matter of putting a bit of sillicone on the rip cord to 'grease' it up a little bit. Another thing to check is that the cord doesn't have any splinters or isn't cracked anywhere cause that could make it get caught too. Whatever the problem, ask one of the instructors on your DZ - they should be able to fix it for ya! Don't worry, I'm sure your muscles are fine!     Aloha! I'm new to Dropzone.com and thought I'd better introduce myself! I'm still just a baby skydiver at 198 jumps and haven't jumped for eight months. Originally from NZ, my home drop zone is Mercer but I'm visiting Australia for a few months - I plan to get back up there before I head off to Thailand... It'd be rude not to really!
