  1. After my minor incident on aff1 the other day.....i was wondering if it is a common problem having the risers closed in on each other with line twists? (I hope you can picture what i mean..) If they were worse twists i would of had a MUCH harder time getting my head behind the risers and wasted a lot of time on a canopy that i havent even seen or checked yet. Just something i wanted to clear up..
  2. I just got back from my AFF1 jump (my first ever jump), and im sure you all know how im feeling! My JM told me it was an outstanding aff1 jump and i had the absolute time of my life im still getting over it. I had pretty bad line twists which meant i couldnt get my head behind the risers to check my canopy but im glad i did because now i know how easy they are to get out of
  3. I did my AFF1 theory on saturday, and we were told to expect line twists, slider up or end cell closure and that they were just idosynchracies that happened a lot and were easy to deal with. That filled me with confidence, especially after watching how easy they were to fix. We also have a target assistant to tell us exactly when to flare upon landing approach, i dont know if you do or not?
  4. Don't see it. i kinda forgot to upload it haha Check again
  5. Here's me at my birthday a couple weeks ago, that shirt DOES get the girls
  6. Absolutely gorgeous day yesterday and today the came in 15+kts and storms stirring up so i dont get to jump until next weekend now at least that gives my muscles time to recover, i was so sore after all the ARCH ARCH ARCH'ING yesterday
  7. A guy at my DZ was telling me about this today, but i could hardly believe it, he said it was on 'blue skies' but i havent seen the dvd yet. I cant even imagine a 46!! Whats the smallest canopy you've seen?
  8. I know that here in Aus (or SA at least) we only use spring loaded AFF rigs, and i was discussing the difference between the two with a guy packing his rig this afternoon.
  9. Well, after ELEVEN hours of theory today, i'm all set to jump tommorow morning :) Now that i understand the workings of the whole thing it doesn't seem anywhere near as scary as i first thought! I dont think i'll be able to sleep tonite though im too excited hehe oh and the taunting death bit was riding my motorbike on the road, skydivings much safer
  10. Hi everyone ive posted crap around here before but after a fone call last nite im now doing my AFF 1 tommorow and sunday! Now my actions have to speak louder than words, and im shit scared haha Cant wait though im getting really excited
  11. ive worked it out! a DZ with a HUGE fan that can be pointed at you so you float gently to earth, instead of bouncing rather 'fast'

    Am I a freak?

bryan adams was my fave....in 1994....when i was 10 souleh i mix drum and bass (mix being a questionable word) and totally involved with the scene down here. Funky house is 'food for your soul', i love it!!
  13. Im thinking it could be the best way to get down from the sky...but then we'd lose the fun of flying canopies...
  14. Gun laws are quite strict in australia, we even need licences for paintball guns and BB's are banned. What do collectors do with a automatic cqb weapojn like that anyway?
  15. Thats a great idea, cant see why it wouldnt work. my experience with plexi...take your time with the screws and it shouldnt crack. You need a fine bandsaw blade or similar to cut it too, motorised will be muchhhhh easier, then wet rub the edges with sandpaper (i think yo ucall it emerypaper) then buff and polish. voila!
  16. haha i know someone that would love that
  17. Dont get too excited its just a question but how far away do you think something llike this is? is there any research on antigravity going on at the moment? sorry, im so bored today
  18. Dont read the incident part of the forum, ive decided not to after almost scaring my self away from jumping
  19. Im Brodie, form australia, and i work for australia post delivering mail from 5am every morning rain or shine
  20. i came with the idea after seeing SKYDYVR in my city the other day
  21. i dont know if oyu can do it wherever you are..but we can have custom licence plates on our cars....do you think BOUNCE would be testing luck a bit too much? What would you have as a plate that would reflect you?
  22. There was an accident at our DZ a couple years ago. There was a tandem coming in for landing upon impact the tandem didn't have his legs in the right place and broke his ankle. Badly enough to have Life Flight come out and rush him to the hospital because they couldn't get a pulse in his foot. Could have meant loosing his foot over it. Well this guy didn't tell anyone, mainly his wife he was going to go make a skydive. Try to put yourself in this guys wifes position. Would you want to get a phone call like that? Now think about this. If something was to happen to you. How would your parents and loved ones feel if something like this was to happen. Show some respect for your parents and tell them the specifics. Let them know your going on such n such weekend to make your first AFF jump. This way if something does happen they're not completely in the dark as to what you were doing. Invite them to the DZ if that's possible, that way your including them in your desires. It is just more mature this way I think. IMHO only... Yeah this is along the lines why i think i will tell them specifics. My last medical i had, the Dr couldnt find a pulce in one of my feet, but he didnt worry about it! ...dodgy if you ask me
  23. Like i kinda said, my family accept the way i live dangerously thourhg my sports and you're right, here in australia its more dangerous to ride a motorbike than it would be too jump..but i'll be doing both now heh
  24. You need the big fluffy furry bear skin rug in front of the fireplace to really get the girls
