Thanks for clicky... I think that the chinstrap and chincup must be field-interchangeable. It seems to me they ship both... but my italian is rusty. I didn't see a cutaway option on their website. I have an e-mail out to the company. Will post if i find out anything good.
-
Haven't seen them in the US... Anybody out there with any constructive feedback? For those of you who'd like to see, check out: www.skysport.it ...under "caschi". Too bad i can't find an Aviator anywhere...

is there a secret handshake or something to get in..? I'm from new york but family here... will look forward to meeting you all. Anybody driving back towards ealing later on?

Rhonda at Venus Modern Body Works in the east village NYC did the work. I'm surprised nobody else is crediting their artists. Cary will be getting retouched soon... if i can afford it, he'll be chillin on a bed of flowers then too.

I had my Z1s for almost a year (150 jumps) before the foam started coming off. So I e-mailed Theresa at Unfeathered (the US Parasport Italia rep I think), and she sent me two foam inserts for free. I think she had them mailed to her from Italy. I'm not sure if the problem is inherent or if it is because i put them up over onto the brow of my helmet when i get under canopy. I THINK the latter, since Italy was genuinely surprised at the problem. I've never compared their foam to that from another brand, so i couldn't tell you if the foam is just cheap - I'm no foam expert. All in all they're the best fitting goggles I tried on, and i had the money at the time. I think they look pretty cool... kinda retro, kinda cyberpunk - and reckon with two more of the foamies i'll get at least two more years out of them. That's how i justify the 45$, not to mention the great customer service i got. In fact this post is just a shameless plug I owe for the free foamies. I have a pair of gatorz too - they fit great, are great in freefall, but... you're stuck with them over your eyes til you take your helmet off. Hope this post helps you. You can see what the z1s look like on me in the pic attached.

As long as you're interested... Musa the Warrior. Hard to find. Excellent. Watch it twice.

One way to solve the problem is to use a different kind of dimmer, like a variac. These will dim your lights and work fine with the low voltage transformer. They are big and ugly though. _______________________________________________________________ Sorry but... variacs are beautiful. But expensive. All that beautiful copper. Plus you can really crack somebody's head but good with a mere 1K.

Canopy hanging rack - portable and cheap
mar_tin replied to councilman24's topic in Gear and Rigging
You ought to be able to rent some pipe and base from a local lighting and/or staging rental outfit. Most places will let you paint their pipe too... In New York a simple goalpost would run you about $40 for a week, not including delivery. Bases tend to be 35-50lbs and the pipe is 1-1/2" diameter. You can request short lengths threaded on both ends and couple them if you need the pipe to fit in your car. You can tee using their h'ware, and then just swathe it in fabric to reduce any chance of tearing your canopy on a sharp edge. There's all sorts of clamps, tail-downs, and/or sidearms you could use for points to hang the canopies from. At the end of the day, it all goes back to their shop... -
Is anybody flying in to West Pal late thursday or early on friday..? We'll need a ride... right? mmmmm... Sebastian at new years is the best! Wendy... will there be any night jumps scheduled? Martin

Driving from vegas to LA... where can i jump?
mar_tin replied to mar_tin's topic in Events & Places to Jump
I'm looking for advice on the best exit to take to get to 14K from along this route... sunday and/or monday if it makes any difference, and preferable closer to LA than NV. Any input greatly appreciated. And if it's not too indirect, I'll get to take my current boss on his first tandem (and frankly he deserves it). thanks again, martin
