I would choose skydiving over a relationship, simply because relationships have not ever worked out and do not work out for me. I trust skydiving, I do not trust relationships. For me, it was quite simple really. Skydiving was something that I had always wanted to do, ever since I was a little kid. Back then, I saw the old TV series, "Ripcord" Skydiving looked like the coolest thing, and I decided that I wanted to do it. Last October, I went to the DZ, signed up for AFF, took the classes and made the first jump. I finally did it, and now, six months later, I am working on my "B" License, when I can afford to jump. My first jump was AFF. I figured that was the way to do it., to go in with both feet. As to what I tell whuffos.. I first tell then that I cannot describe it to them to where they would understand it, because there are no words that exist that can convey what it is like. Someone can only understand it if they do it. Then I tell the about what I did for AFF 1, the classes, how the jump went, etc. To date I've talked 6 whuffos into doing either AFF or tandems. So, I guess I;'ve been either successful, or lucky. I've also hand-proped several different planes, Aeronca Champ, J-3, Cessna 172 to mention a few. yes, the Cub and the Champ required it because they didn't have electrical systems. I think he was a stunt man Paige.
