What did you want to be as a kid when you grew up?

I wanted to be a U.S. Marine, and that's what I did. If this says anything about accomplishing a goal, I did it. Not much else can be said for it. -------- To put your life in danger from time to time ... breeds a saneness in dealing with day-to-day trivialities. --Nevil Shute, Slide Rule -

Yes, I SCUBA dive. Am a Dive Master, but am losing interest in SCUBA, Skydiving is far, far better. The day is approaching when I will no longer SCUBA dive, skydiving has all but replaced it. -------- To put your life in danger from time to time ... breeds a saneness in dealing with day-to-day trivialities. --Nevil Shute, Slide Rule

Unfortunately, there is no cure for a broken heart! Regardless of how you got it, i.e., cheated on, broke up with you, whatever the reason, there is no cure. My brother did some skydiving several years ago, he hasn't jumped in quite a few years now, due to health reasons. Happy Birthday dgskydivers!

Speaking as both a pilot, and a skydiver, there is no way that i would fly a plane, or jump with another skydiver if I knew that they had been either drinking or smoking before hand! Both are substances that impair reaction time, vision, judgement, etc! When flying a plane, or jumping from one, I concentrate, 100% on what I am doing, and expect all others around me to do the same, someone impaired, in any way, by any type of substance, cannot do this and is a hazzard, liability and danger to the safety of all involved! The FARS are clear and they are the law! To violate them not only risks everybody, from a legal standpoint, but also risk the safety of others involved. Noone has a right to do either, in my opinion! -------- To put your life in danger from time to time ... breeds a saneness in dealing with day-to-day trivialities. --Nevil Shute, Slide Rule

Having served in the Marine Corps, I really "don't have a dog in this fight" so to speak, therefore, I voted no opinion. "Sorry about the ex-Marine characterization. I was not meaning to be disrespectful" No disrespect there at all, no offense intended and none taken. No harm done, I know you were not being disrespectful. The largest majority of people do not know that the term ex-Marine is invalid. A good story, and one that true about this. I read it a couple of years ago. It was from a lady who's father had been a Marine in World War II. He was in the hospital, in a coma, and was not expected to live. She had gone up to see him, and had overheard the nurses talking about her father. The nurse had been in the room earlier, with another nurse and they were talking about the patient. She had made a statement, "I understand that he was an ex-Marine. She said that he opened his eyes, sat up in the bed, looked her directly in the eye and said, "Lady, I am a Former Marine, there is no such thing as an ex-Marine!" And with that, she said, that he lay back down, closed his eyes and dropped back off into the coma. That story was in "Leatherneck" Magazine, in the Letters to the Editor section. -------- To put your life in danger from time to time ... breeds a saneness in dealing with day-to-day trivialities. --Nevil Shute, Slide Rule

Yes, I wear seatbelts. Like several others here, I was in an accident once and if I had not had a belt on, I would have been dead, according to the policeman that was at the scene of the accident. Common sense dictates that they should be worn. I'm a pilot, and I have to wear them while flying. Race car drivers wear them, just makes sense that they should be worn! -------- To put your life in danger from time to time ... breeds a saneness in dealing with day-to-day trivialities. --Nevil Shute, Slide Rule
