  1. Yeah, jumped with Jimmy in a 4 way out of the Caravan from the Ogden Skydiving Center in Utah. Diamond Rio was playing the Weber County Fairgrounds that year. Nice fellow.
  2. I feel it important to maintain some level of fitness and a sense of body weight due to height, age, gender, etc. Good body mechanics will only help in getting better at and enhancing instructor skills. Physical condition as well as mental stability are proven keys in all sports. I personally add a "zero tolerance" to myself as I do not partake in any illegal drugs and do not drink alcohol, all while being a responsible TI and coach (in pretty good shape!)

Thanks Clint for letting me help out in the TI area for the boogie. Saturdays wind put a damper on the jumping, but offered a wonderful trip to Arches. Weather was much better Sunday, allowing for some super jumps. A very well planned event that I most certainly will be attending again!
  5. I can see the focus was lost here and there. The only way to claim that a DZ is "drug free" is to do mandatory pre-employment drug screening and then do randoms for the staff. Now, in my travels, I have yet to see that. What happens is the DZO just takes the word of the staff member as gold. Hell, anybody can and will say whatever it takes to get paid to skydive.
  6. You are missing out! Call Brad and get on down to the Get Lucky Boogie next weekend!
  7. What to do about knowing beyond a shadow of ANY doubt about DZs that claim the staff is "drug free". Dropzone home web pages that post the above as one of the selling points to an unknowing public to give them a false sense of safety...when certain individuals of particular staff are known drug abusers and the DZO looks the other way. Any of ya know of these DZs? Any comments?
  8. It was so nice to see many of my friends and fellow jumpers at this years boogie. The weather did not cooperate very well, but I still had a chance to make some awesome skydives, including the flying "L" for the memorial jump...what an honor to be able to be a part of such a wonderful tradition. Brad, you have done a fantastic job with your DZ and work with the airport. Thanks again for the great boogie! JVC
  9. To look at this from a different angle, I have had a total of 5 cutaways to date..ALL with another human strapped to the front of me. Each one of these scenarios had its own story for sure, but I always "climbed back on the ol' horse"...even after the 'scary' ones! Don't let it bother you, it is just a matter of time. React and live.

    Skydive Utah

As an experienced jumper that had over a year off from the sport due to a tandem landing accident, I was treated with respect and compassion when I finally returned to the skies. Jack and Deb made me feel right at home, ( is that not the way it is supposed to be??.....) making that initial jump "back in the saddle" a superb one! I had hoped to make that jump at what I had considered my "home" DZ ( ya'll know...that place just north of here in Ogden....) but, was made to feel VERY uncomfortable and unwelcome by the owners. Thanks again Jack, you have a wonderful dropzone. I will be seeing alot more of ya!
  11. Great footage Steve...I watched the show just for that segment! My fiance' had to tevo the whole show though!
