Horrible idea. Pilots can barely fly from point A to point B let alone trust them with firearms in a combat situation. I mean have you taken a look at the morons recently? Tell you what. When they can show up for work without their blood alcohol level higher than the Eifel Tower I'll consider it. Until then let's give these geniuses as little responsibility as possible. Forty-two

I always wondered what sort of people dressed their poor animals up in clothes. Now I know. Forty-two

Two boys are playing hockey on a frozen pond in a St. Louis, Missouri park when one of the boys is suddenly attacked by a crazed Rottweiller. Thinking quickly, the other boy takes his hockey stick, shoves it under the dog's collar, twists it, and breaks the dog's neck - thus saving his friend. A reporter is strolling by, sees the incident, and rushes over to interview the boy. "Young Rams Fan Saves Friend From Vicious Animal," he starts writing in his notebook. "But I'm not a Rams fan," the little hero replies. "Sorry, since we're in St. Louis, I just assumed you were," says the reporter and he starts writing again. "Blues Fan Rescues Friend >From Horrific Attack," he writes in his notebook. "I'm not a Blues fan either," the boy says. "Oh, I assumed everyone in St. Louis was either for the Rams or the Blues. What team do you root for?" the reporter asks. "I'm a Titans fan," the boy replies. The reporter starts a new sheet in his notebook and writes: "Little Bastard From Nashville Kills Beloved Family Pet." Forty-two

So what? It rids that area of the issue. If everyone would do what this city did in this situation they would eventually run out of places to live as long as they continued this behavior. Your "logic" of, "It only moves the problem to another hood" is wrong. That would be like a company having an employee that was worthless, lazy, showed up late, didn't meet company standards, showed up drunk, etc... and not firing him because, "It would just move the problem to another company." City got this one right. Forty-two

Bad romance novel similes His body was hard, not hard like Milosevic, the Serbian strongman, but hard like the marble on your shower floor, when you fall and bang your knee. Her breasts heaved like a stormy ocean, and her pointed nipples were like hypodermics washed up on the shore. He awoke my slumbering womanhood with his double tall loin latte. "Starbuck!" I cried. Her embrace made his manhood swell like week old road-kill on hot asphalt in the Georgia sun. ...then he kissed her, like a butterfly kisses the windshield of a Porsche on the Autobahn. With his broad shoulders and slim waist, he was a yield sign -- yet she could NOT! He tore open her blouse like a Publisher's Clearing House letter in which he, and some guy named Steven Bouber from Stockton, California, were potential finalists for the ten million dollar prize. Like the wind, she ran, her breasts lurching like a motor boat over a wake, and then, as fluid as a fine imported transmission, she whipped out her man-organ and pissed away his dreams. Her sun-glazed back formed a golden arch as he moved his face toward her happy meal. With each breath, her chest heaved like a bulimic after Thanksgiving dinner. Forty-two

So is the death penalty. Forty-two

It's not about deterrence. It's about punishment. Forty-two

US Troops using scrap metal for armor

Fact - Bush had more votes than any president in history. Fact - First president to win the popular majority since Regan (I believe it was Regan). Doesn't sound like we are undecided. Forty-two -

It makes me extremely happy to see those who deserve to die do so. Terrorists, murders, enemies of my country etc.... You will always see me smile and become happy when those people die. Forty-two

Because the correct punishment was handed down. I am always happy to see scumbag, murdering assholes die. Forty-two

It's official. Peterson received the death penalty! HOOYAH!!!!! Forty-two

A 54% decrease is great progress. Great progress is something to be proud of. Forty-two
-
Funny, I don't see it as that. Maybe mindset is in the minority. Forty-two
-
They have. Hence the 54% reduction. Anything else? Forty-two
-
We pat ourselves on our backs for reducing it 54%, not 700 dying. Nice attempt to twist words. Have to do better than that. Forty-two

Oh well . . . boys will be boys . . . whacha gonna do?

That is absolutely horrible. I can't believe someone would sell a pipe bomb for that much money. It's so much cheaper to make it yourself. What a rip-off! Forty-two -
It is a deterrent. But deterrance isn't the point of the death penalty. Punishment is the purpose. Forty-two
-
The key words in your statement is, "did not deter this man. Forty-two
-
Not the point. The point is EBSB said the, "Kook gave zero consideration." That is impossible for him to know....unless like I stated before he somehow has figured out not only how to read minds but to somehow obtain the exact percentage of critical thinking the man had pertaining to deterrance. U.S. soldier gets 3 years for killing Iraqi
tunaplanet replied to Botellines's topic in Speakers Corner
I've noticed you are referring to war quite a bit and talking about what it is like. Have you ever served in the military and ever been in combat? Forty-two -
U.S. soldier gets 3 years for killing Iraqi
tunaplanet replied to Botellines's topic in Speakers Corner
First time I've heard that analogy. Fits perfectly for this situation. The day soldiers start to be questioned, put under a microscope and grilled everytime they kill in combat is a sad day for not only the military but for you and I as well. I'll go ahead and speak for those that have never served...you do not want this. Trust me when I say this. Forty-two -
Yeah, yeah. You can talk all you'd like but the bottom line you nor anyone else has a clue as to what he was thinking in regards to wether or not he was concerned about the death penalty....unless you have somehow figured out a way to read minds overnight. Forty-two
