Yes that is exactly what it means. See if a girl says, "Oh cute little me is to scared to jump but my honey enjoys it", its cool. If a guy says that it just doesn't sound the same and I will leave it at that. The girl can say I have a little skydiver in me from time to time. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. Can't think of anything I need No cigarettes, no sleep, no light, no sound. Nothing to eat, no books to read.

A Republican and a Democrat are walking down a street and a beggar comes asking them for money. The Republican reaches into his wallet and pulls out a 20 dollar bill and a business card and says to him ,"Go have a nice meal get yourself cleaned up and call me for a job". They keep walking and another beggar approaches. The Democrat reaches into the Republicans wallet pulls out a 50 dollar bill and says, "Remember to register to vote so I can continue to take care of you". That is the difference. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. Can't think of anything I need No cigarettes, no sleep, no light, no sound. Nothing to eat, no books to read.

1979 Duke ran again as a Democrat for the State Senate in Metairie, Louisiana, a New Orleans suburb. Duke lost to the incumbent but garnered a substantial 9,897 votes (26%). Simultaneously, Duke announced his intention to run for President as well. Duke campaigned briefly in several states, but soon dropped out. 1988 Duke made a bid for the Presidency as a Democratic candidate first, then, a third party candidate sponsored by the Populist Party, an independent third party that serves as a vehicle for right-wing and extremist candidates. During the Spring of 1988 Duke broadcast his first “infomercial” which marked the beginning of his new emphasis on television advertising. As in past electoral campaigns, Duke temporarily dropped his openly racist and anti-Semitic views in exchange for mainstream issues of affirmative action, welfare, and immigration. On the ballot in 11 states, Duke received 47,047 votes and makes a particularly strong showing in Louisiana which inspired him to make a serious bid for state office. 1989 Duke won a seat in the Louisiana State House of Representatives. Running against seven Republicans in Metairie, Louisiana, Duke won by a narrow margin. 1989 Duke’s critics exposed him for selling neo-Nazi literature from his legislative office. This issue came back to haunt Duke in the coming years. 1990 Duke ran for U.S. Senate against Democratic incumbent J. Bennett Johnston using coded “Dukespeak” on racial issues. Duke was denounced by eight Republican Senators who endorsed Johnston. Duke lost the election to Johnston, winning 43.5% to Johnston’s 53.9%, but receiving 60% of the white vote in this election. Duke is a Democrat that is the fact. He might have tried on occasion to run as a Republican but as you see he was denounced. 1953 -- Helms returns to Raleigh to become executive director of the N.C. Bankers Association. He begins writing a conservative column in The Tarheel Banker, speaking against public school desegregation 1953, Is that about the time when Al Gore's father voted against every single civil rights bill presented to congress. 1999 -- Helms is one of only two senators voting against the confirmation of Carol Moseley-Braun, the only black woman ever elected to the U.S. Senate, to be the U.S. ambassador to New Zealand. Have you considered for a second that maybe he did not think she was the most qualified for the job. Or should he simply have voted for her because she was black. Thurmond switched from the Democratic to the Republican party in 1964. Switching to the Republican party in 64 does not change the fact that his extreme racist views previously could only have found a home in the Democratic party, which is where he was when he was outspoken about them. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. Can't think of anything I need No cigarettes, no sleep, no light, no sound. Nothing to eat, no books to read.

Wait... I believe protecting our environment is a critical responsibility. _____________________________________________ so republicans want to pollute the environment. Obviously not that is just D propanda. Or do you really believe I want to breathe disgusting air like the people of Houston. I'm a firm believer in womens' right to choose. _________________________________ Christine Todd Whitman {R} former governver of NJ and at one point considered a possible candidate for Vice president is pro choice. The truth is this is split and not a Democrat or Republican issue. I believe civil rights are worthy of substantial defense. _________________________________________ Lincoln was a Republican and if you look you will find that all the people in congress who were associated with the KKK are Democrats. Apparently because the want to play the race card all the time they they have managed to fool many like yourself. I believe we should try to be good global citizens. _________________________________________ that is so vague there is no real way to respond to it. I am totally opposed to any mixing of government and religion. ____________________________________________ Republicans are the Champions of the constitution, this country was founded mainly on freedom of religion or lack thereof. So we may have a helpful lobby by the Christian coalition but I would not find it accurate in the slightest to suggest we want to make everybody Christian. I think the war on drugs is simply a war on individual liberties by the religious right. _____________________________________ I am for the legalization of drugs to. I could care less if you wish to harm you body after all the medical studies have told you that is what you would be doing. Just as I am against wing loading BSRs. I am for personal freedom. Kind of sounds more right wing doesn't it. I think prostitution should be legal and taxed like any other occupation, regardless of how "sinful" the religious right thinks it is. _________________________________ I think that arguement for this is so similar to the one on drug use that I don't need to repeat it. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. Can't think of anything I need No cigarettes, no sleep, no light, no sound. Nothing to eat, no books to read.

True but the common sense factor can be described by the I-Knew-it-all-along-syndrome. I.E. after the study was made and the facts were put foward explaining it was a lot simpler that coming up wtih those facts before they were discovered through the study. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. Can't think of anything I need No cigarettes, no sleep, no light, no sound. Nothing to eat, no books to read.

If you really needed it I could pull out my book and give you the name so you could find it. But something tells me you wouldn't be able to follow it anyway, as your not a mathematician. I just simplified a small point that was made in this book and was relevent to the conversation. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. Swearing objectivity is unrealistic. Being a mathematician who has taken many math classes, I recall one I believe it was titled Math models (it was 400 level or senior level ofcourse). Anyway one point I remember from this class was a study that was done and found that it was always more productive to have two people working for you that didn't like each other than three people with one who was objective. They found that when there was 3 more problems would occur than 4. Four or any mutiple of 2 would probably pair off and form two groups. If you had and odd number such as three, one would be switch back and forth and nothing would ever get accomplished. This was compared the U.S.'s two party system which has a realistic representation and the french system with 37 (really 37!) political parties at the time. The place with two parties would naturally try a more realistic approach to solving a problem, I.E. not just trying to please a small portion of the population until everybody else got fed up with it lobbied to get there party in to then please them and then for the cycle to repeat itself. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. Can't think of anything I need No cigarettes, no sleep, no light, no sound. Nothing to eat, no books to read.

Oooh a hard core socialist. I love you people we need more of you to split the left wing vote and keep Republicans in office. Seriously if you would be so kind as to recruit a few more I would be quiet and let you work. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. Can't think of anything I need No cigarettes, no sleep, no light, no sound. Nothing to eat, no books to read.

You know I always notice that but I don't quite understand it. Why is it that Republicans can step up to the plate and proudly say, "I am a Republican"? But Democrats feel the need to pretend they are the happy medium standing in the sidelines being oh so objective. Clearly after you follow their logic you will see that they are anything but objective and obviously associated with the D's. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. Can't think of anything I need No cigarettes, no sleep, no light, no sound. Nothing to eat, no books to read.

No, liberating them was a fringe benifit for their oppressed population. We went there to protect ourselves from further terrorist attacks on our interests. After Bush senior we tried to perform inspections to maintain reasonable security that way but it wasn't working so we went in and did what we had to. Even your buddy Clinton was involved in conficts with Iraq or do you not remember everything that went on in early 98 with the Iraqis refusing to allow inspections. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. Can't think of anything I need No cigarettes, no sleep, no light, no sound. Nothing to eat, no books to read.

The tax cuts are not a temporary fix They are meant as a permanent fix. Regan put it best with his Trickle down economics theories. I am sure you can do a search on google for that. As much as you may wish to deny it we are far better off now that we hae eliminated the Iraqi threat than we were a year ago. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. Can't think of anything I need No cigarettes, no sleep, no light, no sound. Nothing to eat, no books to read.

Ok I think you need to reread it because I don't think its that hard to follow. First of all I used a capital D for Democrats because there is a difference there. A democrat could be someone who believes in democracy and is not associated with that political party. I did say politicians can't be stupid and I did not say that Democrat politicians were stupid. What I did say was that the ideas they put foward were stupid. To some this might create a paradox and my point was to solve this paradox by stating that they knew full and well that their political agendas were a first class ticket to disaster. But that they put these ideas foward inspite of that because it served to give them and imediate reward (getting elected by the hopeless yahoos who it temporarily benifitted). In other words they don't care what they destroy because they are not good people. So for people like yourself who do not see the harm that their policies cause we can find more obvious facts. Like David Duke (KKK member {D}), JFK (MOB and Nazi, and communist connections), that 100 year old {D} senator Thurmond (the former KKK member who Trent Lott was later attacked for paying him a compliment). That other {D} senator (former KKK member who played General Lee in some movie recently, Bob something), Hillary Clinton with her "Fucking Jewish bastard" coments, Roger Clinton who they got on tape saying nigger like five times in 30 seconds in an obviously derogatory fashion (Ok so he is not a politician but between him and Hillary Clinton its fair to say Bill Clinton is guilty by association, Bob Torecelli from Jersey and his recent Mob related resignation. Ok I need to stop here because I can probably finish HH's bandwith if I kept going. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. Can't think of anything I need No cigarettes, no sleep, no light, no sound. Nothing to eat, no books to read.

It makes plenty of sense to me. I was watching something on the history channel the other day about some Scandinavian model who was seen durring the times of Nazi Germany with Hilter. After whe war she moved to the U.S. years. The FBI would later find that she was shacking up with none other than JFK. They were on her trail because they thought she was a Nazi spy. There is nothing shocking about it because you can't be stupid and be a politician. If you're not stupid you will clearly see how stupid the ideas the Democrat party puts foward are. So it follows that if you know these ideas are bad but you put them foward anyway you must be a bad person. So there is nothing shocking when we find all the Mob, KKK, communist or Nazi connections there are with the Democrat politicians. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. Can't think of anything I need No cigarettes, no sleep, no light, no sound. Nothing to eat, no books to read.

that being said, No, hell NO! Girlfreinds or SO's (female only) of skydivers who have the patience to hang around the dropzone for hours have a special place in the community. But beyond that if you can't jump by yourself and don't intend to ever then you are not really a skydiver. You may be a great person who is a barrel of laughs and extremely pleasant to be around. But you're still a whuffo or you would understand why skydivers do everything they possibly can to keep skydiving. How can you possibly understand that and at the same time say you choose not to? If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. Can't think of anything I need No cigarettes, no sleep, no light, no sound. Nothing to eat, no books to read.

dropzone tunes as a rule I always thought were Boston (more than a feeling), Violent femmes (Kiss off or Blister in the Sun), or Joe Walsh (anyway the wind blows). But maybe that is because I started Jumping at the Ranch in the mid 90's before all the freak kids (freeflyers) listening to Prodigy, Marilyn Manson, sublime and a bunch of stuff I don't even know the name to came along. Now if you ask my personal favorites that would have to be Led Zeppelin, Iron Maiden, Pink Floyd and the Beatles. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. Can't think of anything I need No cigarettes, no sleep, no light, no sound. Nothing to eat, no books to read.

What do your parents think of your skydiving?
Steel replied to andy2's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
through early adolesence, "Motorcycles are evil they are slow suicide for the stupid and you best never even think of getting one" age 16 first time skiing, "thats interesting but I wouldn't do it because I can't risk breaking a leg" age 17 after some minor injuries skiing and limping around the house for a few days, "what the hell are you doing at the ski areas" age 18 after walking around soar from water skiing and having learned how to scubadive , "yes he always feels the need to put his life at risk" at 19 after bull riding for the first 3 times, "you know that looks pretty dangerous but thank god you haven't bought a motorcycle" a couple of weeks later after semi-serious bullriding accident, " your an idiot with the need to risk your life but as long as we pay for your college and car you will not do the stupidest possible things, so from this day foward you will never ride a bull again" (I rode in secrecy after that but luckily never got hurt again) at 20 learned to skydive, "that might seem a little scary but the truth is its totally safe" (other family members would roll their eyes mumbling, "they don't know anything about the potential danger") at 26 years of age after discovering my zx-6 ninga, "I hope you some day have a son like yourself who keeps you worried at all times.", to other people "My son is crazy and I have to live with this and only hope he doesn't kill himself in my lifetime." at 27 after bad landing causeing some limping for a couple of weeks, "when are you going to stop this" my response , NEVER! "your going to have to break a leg before you decide to stop" my response, no even then I would just have to wait the six weeks healing time and then I could jump again. (six weeks assume a minor fracture six months if its a compound one but essenitally the same thing) for the past couple of years, "I know your not going to stop but I wish you would do it a lttle less often to cut down on the risk" If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. young males are the real cause of the problem. Maybe we should restrict males under 30 to 1:1 WL. _________________________________________________ you can pass this policy after November of this year. Wow! Ok so what I am getting from this is that we encouraged Islamic Jihad because in this case if benifitted us since it was directed toward the Soviets. Later when the Soviets were out of the picture it was redirected toward us. Ok so that was a mistake that we made. From the dates you gave, blame could be place on Nixon, Ford or Carter but either way it was an American mistake. One that is being made right now. We don't care that they are insane as long and they direct their hostilities toward somebody else. Then was the Soviets now I am not sure who if anybody. But we still are playing this game suggesting that their countries are not acting as breeding grounds for Islamic Jihad (insane individuals). If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. Well I will give you that you did make a point for a possibility. However, I think that falls extremely short of any justification. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. Can't think of anything I need No cigarettes, no sleep, no light, no sound. Nothing to eat, no books to read.

Please help educate me here. Because I can come up with many reasons for the dislike with the Palestinians but what bad did we ever do to Afganistan for them to hate us. I will forget all the good things we did for them but just tell me what bad thing did we ever do to that country. (Before they sponsored 9/11 that is ofcourse) If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. Can't think of anything I need No cigarettes, no sleep, no light, no sound. Nothing to eat, no books to read.

- we are both against the terroist extremist groups, NOT against Muslims. You know what that sounds like to me. Imagine if I had a pet alligator and then I showed him to you and you pet him and you found he was very nice. Then you started telling people some alligators are nice. Well technically you wouldn't be lying because you found my exceptional alligator to be nice. But realistically if you convinced certain people that some alligators were nice then these same people you convinced would be out there loosing limbs. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. Can't think of anything I need No cigarettes, no sleep, no light, no sound. Nothing to eat, no books to read.

No its pretty clear that they hated us first. Think about Afganistan, how much we supported them because we didn't want the Soviets to take them over and then they gave a safe haven to Ossama Bin Laden. We are not talking about one man we are talking about one country. A country that we helped and then helped sponsor that horrific attack on us. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. Can't think of anything I need No cigarettes, no sleep, no light, no sound. Nothing to eat, no books to read.

what does what mean? Are you going to tell me your not aware of all the military assistance that the U.S. provides for Israel? Are you also going to tell me that they are not grateful for this? One way in which they are grateful is acknowledging that there is a problem and that we are on the same side. I.E., not by pretending that there are 2 or 3 three extemeists screwing it up for everybody when they know the problem is the mentality of millions all guided by a religion. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. Can't think of anything I need No cigarettes, no sleep, no light, no sound. Nothing to eat, no books to read.

I agree with you to a certain extent. But you do know if it wasn't for out military aid the Arabs/muslims would have already eaten the Israelis and spit them all out dead. I don't think letting this happen would have been the right thing to do. Remember all Israelis are not like Ari (NeedtoJump). Most of them are very grateful to the U.S.. Just watch Netinyahu talk and you will see this imediately. I guess what I am saying is that they are good allies to have in the region. Muslims don't hate us just because of them. They hate everybody who is not Muslim. Funny thing is I have a Lebonese freind (not Muslim but Arab). We disagree a lot but I have learned a lot from him. He said to me once that the reason there is not democracy in any of the Muslim countries is because the U.S. doesn't want there to be. I questioned it ofcourse but then he explained why. He said in these countries 80% of the population wants nothing more than to come and launch attacks on the U.S.. The general population basically hates us and there is nothing we can do about it. But what we have been able to do is make freinds with one dictator and have him keep his people under reasonable control and that is what we do. If I could make a wish, I think I'd pass. Can't think of anything I need No cigarettes, no sleep, no light, no sound. Nothing to eat, no books to read.
