Hey everyone. I am new to skydiving and I love it!!! This is the best sport in the world. I think that the people make the sport and everyone i have met at my DZ is cool. I have a question. I noticed after about my 8th jump or so that their were no Black skydivers at my DZ. It never really came to my attention until a visiting skydiver came up to me with his mouth hanging open. He said he had seen it all now. he was joking and quickly informed me that he was Puerto Rican and had been trying his best to get his best friend (whos Black) to jump. His friend bet him that he couldnt find a Black American jumping and if he did thats when he would go for it. (He's just a Leg) I thought it was strange yet funny. After that I looked at all the pics on the wall at my DZ and couldnt find another Black person. One good thing about it is, everybody knows me at my DZ. Now let me say that I live in Texas now but I'm from L.A. so I know it all depends on where you are. So I'm wondering if there are any Licensed African american's at your drop zones? This is just a question for the curious. I have not had any racial problems at all. As a matter of fact my DZ is where I would hang out everyday if it was not for this job of mine. Once a person discovers Skydiving they should be exempt from things like work, school, bills... and stuff like that.*** Airborne!

Yea! SDD is great! I'm quite new to the sport and feel very lucky to be in the company of the people at SDD. In this case the people make the sport. I had my reservations after I saw the huge number of african american skydivers in this sport (not). Its strange but fun, I seem to be some what of an over night celebrity. Airborne!
