Banning firearms in Norway may have prevented the massacre
434 replied to Skyrad's topic in Speakers Corner
Norwegians do not complain about the law. If we want a gun/firearm, we can if we join a club, been a member, and passed a test! What is the problem? Here is the law! you can translate in your browser and study http://www.w3.org/People/howcome/lover/1961-06-09nr1.html -

We might not want to trade them back, we just send the package of those who want to escape our life. Im out of here. I know you guys will not understand, but as long I feel the freedom of life here I live, I do not need anything else. I guess it is same the other way around. Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer! Sun-tzu. Chinese general & military strategist (~400 BC). -

You are way out of reality. A car bomb in Oslo, and then killings at a youth summer camp, at an island an hour drive + boat to an Island? How do you prevent against anything like that? I would like to hear your answer! -

When did a camera kill or threat anyone? I have seen many cams have saved civilian lives even from police. If you want, I can google and refresh your mind. We where talking about guns, not cams in this tread. -

One hour response time, and if you bother looking up the map, explaining the time frame from first call to the police had captured him. No guns in the streets is Freedom! -

A life without firearms in your daily life, is freedom. I do not expect you will or can understand, but that is a strong Norwegian feeling. Our guns is mostly for hunting, not for fun or safety. -

Some years ago, one member of the forum, had to take cover for awhile because of death treath´s? Correct me if I am wrong?

It is not justified to link this man and action to the progress party, but it is the furthest wright you can get in Norway political as a listed party. It is also the 2. biggest party in Norway, and they score their members trough their tax and immigration views. http://www.frp.no/no/Andre_sprak/English/ The interesting we are going to see, is the local vote, how this action will turn out for the party that was the target. My believe is they will score higher than ever on the list. FRP will loose a lot of members.

I find his manifest as a quite interesting read. Also the profile they are getting of him in the media based on experts analyzes as well. As you say, this is no unusual thoughts, ideology, or filosofi.

His whole Manifest/diary in english. http://www.frie-ytringer.com/abb/2083.pdf

Yea, who would want to live in a country considered by most to have the highest standard of living in the world along with one of the lowest crime rates ? That's probably why you run into so many Norwegian immigrants these days. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/country_profiles/1023276.stm So, tell me ...given the high standard of living and low crime rate, what would motivate him to attack government offices and murder school children in Norway? (He does mention in his "writing" that he's a millionaire. Could that be it?) Do right wing fruitcakes with guns need motives? Sexual frustration is my best guess.
