ive been the course organiser for our Uni skydiving club for the past 2 years, and ive seen hundreds of students come for static line courses. ive noticed that often its not the jumps that get people to keep coming up every weekend [often with months in the winter with no jumps] but the parties we have to welcome the new students, and the general atmosphere of the Dz. though of course there are ppl that the jumps are everything, and its obvious, after a few jumps, that theres no getting rid of them [i was one ] www.ewancowie.com www.facebook.com/ewancowiephotography -

i landed in someones garden in the czech republic, was about 10 feet away from swooping it right into their open barn! the out i had planned turned out to be criss crossed by power lines, so i had to abort and follow a road that ended at the barn. the kids playing in the garden just looked at me funny, till i waved, and they waved back, then their dad gave me a lift in his van, funny as hell! www.ewancowie.com www.facebook.com/ewancowiephotography

Being able to think during freefall

yeah i remember the first few jumps i did with other people seemed like 10 seconds long, and full of blanks, but now jumps feel a lot longer, and i sometimes get wierd things popping into my head. i remember the time a guy told me it was possible to 'fly your opening', at the time i had about 30 jumps and i thought id NEVER get to that stage, but the other day i realised ive been doing it for ages without realising it, same goes for other things too. i guess the moral of my little story is; stick with it and itll come to you, but dont try too hard, just CHILLAX, and enjoy it. www.ewancowie.com www.facebook.com/ewancowiephotography -

my FS1 dive at st andrews, with the sun setting on one side and the full moon rising on the other, with freddy dave west and andrew hilton, with guys like that you can hardly fail. got 4 points then one more for good measure, and geeked the camera, heard freddy shout, first time i heard anyone in freefall too. deployed and freddy came next to me under canopy, with the sun and the moon on opposite sides, it was such a buzz! www.ewancowie.com www.facebook.com/ewancowiephotography
