  4. The Pink Mafia Tunnel Sisters had the honor & pleasure of being the personal guests of Rob & Laurie at SkyVenture New Hampshire this past weekend for fun, flying & fellowship. Laurie & her crew rolled out the PINK carpet, and led us lovely ladies plus 1 (Myself, Paige, Laura Kraus & Rox Cox plus Danager) on a complete tour of the facility from rooftop to basement, treated us with several amazing flight sessions, and included us as if we were a part of their family. I can't say enough, for our entire group, how WONDERFUL this crew & facility really is. As I walked around during our tour the words 'spared no expense' kept coming to my mind as Laurie described to us the processes involved with completing this particular facility and the finishing touches that were being added as she spoke. It was obvious to myself then, and I believe the entire group, how dedicated Laure & her crew are to making this the BEST POSSIBLE VWT facility that it could possibly be.. not only catering the skydivers & tunnel flyers, but professionals, children, tourists and yes.. even Tunnelrats! We welcomed 3 NEW Tunnel Sisters this weekend and also did the FIRST EVER DOUBLE BARBIE DOCK! Erin Grant, Stacey Geesey and yes.. wait for it... >>>>> LAURIE WASS
  5. Hi Steven! Yes, I'm in charge of the Halloween BOOgie again this year. It's sponsored by Bodyflight Network and Appalachian Amusement Center and our date this year is going to be Saturday October 28th. There will be a limited number of attendees as we are organizing it a bit differently this year. I'll post detail here as soon as we have them! See you then! BTW, I did hear that you did great on your last flight... nice job!
  6. I'm not sure why all the hostility here... I don't think it's the responsibility of any business owner to keep us aprised of their progress...nor is it any of our business to know why there have been delays, unless of course your an investor... just the opposite in fact, I feel that it's a privelege to know. As if opening a tunnel isn't enough of a headache (and yes.. I DO know what's involved) Laurie manages to grace these forums with her presence & updates to keep us all in the loop. I truly appreciate that. As far as delays? well.. having been around for the opening of several VWTs before, I certainly don't see anything I would consider a delay... it's a freak thing to see a tunnel come together so quickly and be operational in under a year!!! Its only happened a couple of times in fact EVER! So... KUDOS to Laurie & her team for making this happen in record time! Can't wait to fly it!!
  7. So how the hell cool is this? Buzz Aldrin, THE astronaut, took his first flights at SkyVenture Orlando just over a week ago. Chris Ash & Shane Tully got to take him in and he had a GREAT time, of course Former Spacerat turned Tunnelrat!! Buzz is currently our Photo of the Week, check it out!!! http://www.bodyflight.net
  8. That sounds good but then I want to be tied to the bed. Amen! That works for me too!

  10. at 70% of power, which is AAC's current high until the one piece fan is installed runs around 128mph on average. With the new fan at 100% of power we expect speeds in excess of 140.. We don't usually use baggy suits but the owner wears a really big one. He prefers to fly at around 100mph though.. we usually pick a speed near 115 for play & practice and have no need for suits. I wear jeans & a tshirt or sweatshirt regularly, or my tight freefly suit. Edited to add: volume... not necessarily speed makes a big difference in each air column. For instance.. I've flown portables that clock in around `150 mph.. but without the volume of an AAC or SV type. Without saying WHO.. one of our tunnelrats suspects that Airkix is possibly the fastest... not including any flights in Colorado.. but all the rest were included in the comparison.
  11. It was awesome having you over Jenn (Jake too!) and I'm glad you both flew well enough to get to group fly with all of us and play a bit of the tug-o-war with the funnoodle! It was a great time... come back soon!!!
  12. Wow, have they actually flown them all? That sure is alot of tunnels to compare!

  15. I'm a Lamborghini Murcielago! You're not subtle, but you don't want to be. Fast, loud, and dramatic, you want people to notice you, and then get out of the way. In a world full of sheep, you're a raging bull http://www.tomorrowland.us/sportscar/images/lambo.jpg
  16. Awesome Paige! Great Job! Was with you in spirit!! Just email me where to send the hoodie HUGS See ya soon
  17. Wish I had the edit feature longer... what I meant to say was "my best guess would be" not "off the top of my head" these are not factual statistics, just a guess on my part.. I do have outside the air stats but that isnt' what we're talkin about
  18. depending on the tunnel of course... and we're talking IN the flight column off the top of my head SV Type - 180 db Portable Prop type - 150 L1 VWT - 115 db
  19. I love hosting parties.... and have thrown some very fun get togethers.... My first instinct was a Luau too since I am planning one now here... but some other great & simple ideas are: Casino Night Mardi Gras Roaring 20's
  20. Not at all! Me too! of course... I do usually lean toward the "strange & unusual" side of life.. but weird???.. No!
  21. REALLY? That's good to know. I said above I was trying to read it but having a hard time staying focused... I guess I'll give it another go... perhaps this time without any distractions and a good cup of latte!
