Possible Beach Jumps for Thursday the 12th.!! More specialty aircraft added to the flight line! Over a dozen manufacturers will be present! SkyFest is the place to buy your gear!! This includes high altitude jumps, obtaining skydiving awards, jumping with a freefly or a belly coach, and/or jumping on a 20-way with all females, and the list goes on. In turn, SkyFest collects all proceeds generated from the boogie (registration fee, raffled prizes, donations, and etc.) and gives it back to selected drop zones for coaching jumps. Totally agree with the replies thus far. On every skydive the room for error is small, in a wingsuit this is magnified many times over. When things go wrong they have the posibility to go way wrong. Blow out a wing, drop a bottie, break a control line, bad twists, partial malfunctions are extreme situations. DO NOT complicate this with a suit you are not ready for. Translate this to down sizing on a canopy. GO TO A TRAINED INSTRUCTOR --- Z-Hills is a great option. Look up Chuckie Blue or Scott Bland. Scott: The camp was great. Really boosted my skills by leaps and bounds. Very well run and paced for the group, I think all of us were streched and learned many new things. Both Chris Gray and I are considering going. Things that would encourage me to attend --- Tailgate and specialty aircraft. High speed passes. We also should do something about logging and recognizing record attempts (e.g. texas record) Focused instruction on advanced flocking and flying techniques. I have been able to do this with my Tony Suits Aero wingsuit. Verys cool on tracking dives. My brother has done same with his Aero as well. I have had my wingsuit in a 160+ MPH dive, positioning for a tandem pass. Suggestion --- As swoopers assemble a responsible group and come up with a safe workable solution. I was a first responder to the incident in Dublin, GA that was perhaps the last straw in prompting DZOs to take strict actions. I am also a wing suit pilot and there are specific measures taken to ensure safety on such jumps, the same can be said for freeflying and exit orders. This is a self governing sport, take the lead !!! DZOs and USPA are looking for viable solutions to this problem. Bottom line is that even the best pilot and heads up person can be taken out by the actions of another. This is what happen at Dublin, two people died and it was totally avoidable.
