  1. This protocol was followed because no one wants to hear about the fatality of their loved one on Facebook. They should learn that through the proper channels. The family is more important than UR. Get over that. If you hear of a fatality and you thinking maybe someone you know, you as a jumper can call dropzone or other friends you know. Family comes first, and you will learn in due time. Laurel Nichols _______________________________________ If it weren't for physics and law enforcement, I'd be unstoppable.-Anon
  2. To all of those that knew and loved Bob Holler, I have made a second run of B.O.B. patches. The patch , as you may know, is a tribute to Bob-- carrying the message of safety and air awareness. see attached The profits will all be donated to Jump for the Cause, the Women's World Skydiving Record, raising money for breast cancer research. BOB was an ardent supporter of jump for the cause, right down to his pink bicycle. The cost for each patch is $10, with $7.50 for each going to the charity. All checks should be written to me, please, and please don't forget to include your mailing address. Laurel Nichols 1167 cambridge St. Deltona,FL 32725 Or you may paypal, at a cost of $11 per patch. my email address is jumperlaurel@msn.com please pass this on to everyone you know...spread the word, and help raise money for a good cause. Peace, Laurel Laurel Nichols _______________________________________ If it weren't for physics and law enforcement, I'd be unstoppable.-Anon
  3. Yes, Laurel is Wonderhog... This was very evident--- Lee, though the quintessential "wanker", apparently has an incredible family with the most forgiving sense of humour, warm and accepting of us: this most dysfunctional group of misfits Lee had as friends... all there to support eachother after this tragedy. I laughed, I cried, I danced, I sang...well, I tried to sing. We ran in the mud, sang around the campfire in the rain, we shivered, and played poker, and as the evening wore on we were treated to vocal serenades by both Greg and Mouse...(you two rock..) I will miss my friend, and I will cherish memories of that long, cold, wet freaking night at the Farm in honor of our comrade. Thanks everyone, I think it was the way Lee would want to be remembered. Love to you all, Laurel Laurel Nichols _______________________________________ If it weren't for physics and law enforcement, I'd be unstoppable.-Anon
  4. Patches will be mailed out tomorrow. I have les than 30 left. Get'em now! LNM Laurel Nichols _______________________________________ If it weren't for physics and law enforcement, I'd be unstoppable.-Anon
  5. this is the final cut, I'm back to blue and green, and 100% embroidered. it is 3.8 in. x 5.2 inches in size, and I do accept paypal at jumperlaurel@msn.com Other order info is above. get your orders in now Laurel Nichols _______________________________________ If it weren't for physics and law enforcement, I'd be unstoppable.-Anon
  6. First, if you have email addresses for anyone you know that may be interested, please pass this on: The patch is ordered, though the background will be one solid shade of sky blue instead of the green, see attached, but picture it with one shade, I couldn't get the shade to duplicate for this file. all the stuff on it: lettering, beret, eclipse, border and stars will be embroidered. They will be ready to mail out next week. The cost is $10 each, with roughly half of the proceeds to be forwarded to Bob's favorite cause at www.Bentprop.org in check form on his birthday, the first week of June. I'll find out the exact date. I think we should celebrate the date of life of our friend, and not remember him by the date of his unfortunate death. The rest will go to cost of production and postage. I'm not profitting from this except in my heart. I will accept personal checks or postal money orders only. Or cash if you catch me at the DZ somewhere. Checks must clear first! Please send a self-addressed envelope or sticky label with your mailing address on it for expedience. It would sure help me get these out faster. Mail to: B.O.B. Patch c/o Laurel Moreira P.O. Box 3056 Statesboro, GA 30459 Let's get these out and put them on our jumpsuits, our gear bags, anywhere--- to pay tribute to our friend, our mentor, our Chief. And to remind us that senseless acts often come at a great cost. Bluest of Skies to all Friends of B.O.B. Love y'all, Laurie Laurel Nichols _______________________________________ If it weren't for physics and law enforcement, I'd be unstoppable.-Anon

  8. okay, again everybody: I know the beret is supposed to be maroon, and it will be. I left it lighter red on the graphic file so that the detail black outline could be discerned by the embroidery shop, ---never fear, I'm on top of it. Unfortunately, no one sent me photos of berets last week when i was begging for them. I drew this one from a website that had a drawing of one, so that's what we have now. File is already at the shop being digitized. I want to get this done, I don't have a month to play with this. I'll be lying in bed recovering from my surgery, and licking stamps to send these out. I'll open a PO box tomorrow or thursday, and begin to take orders. Thanks for the input. 9. Here is the final design draft, it is being digitized for embroidery , and I will get my estimate tomorrow. Like or lump it, this is it. The red beret is in fact maroon. I want to thank the 30 or so folks that critiqued and guided this design. It was a group effort for sure Laurel Nichols _______________________________________ If it weren't for physics and law enforcement, I'd be unstoppable.-Anon
  10. It is maroon, my program just made it red, but the patch will be correct . I am not taking orders until next week, I'll post it. Thanks, LNM Laurel Nichols _______________________________________ If it weren't for physics and law enforcement, I'd be unstoppable.-Anon
  11. Geez, dude, I sure could have used those beret photos yesterday, oh well, what we see is what we get. Ciao,LNM Laurel Nichols _______________________________________ If it weren't for physics and law enforcement, I'd be unstoppable.-Anon
  12. I love to see the ones you've seen, as I have seen none. Are they posted? Laurel Nichols _______________________________________ If it weren't for physics and law enforcement, I'd be unstoppable.-Anon

  17. I have added to design for BOB patch a red beret. posted here, but i think the green is too bright, so , don't worry---that will be toned down. Perhaps more tilt in the beret? Or does it look too hokey? Laurel Nichols _______________________________________ If it weren't for physics and law enforcement, I'd be unstoppable.-Anon

  19. I agree more stickers or a patch is ijn order to remind us all of our friends and the lesson in safety we must all, I repeat ALL, must adhere to . I am designing a patch, now posted on the 'patch' thread of the 'Blue skies' forum, about the third or 4 letter in the thread.. I plan to add a maroon beret and other stuff, this is only a draft. Don't send emails ordering them just yet, please. Will let everyone know when it is available, next week sometime, all profit will go to Bentprop.org. Please send only constructive ideas, all "hate mail" folks can make their own patch. 20. I think that is a wonderful idea, so make one. I'll buy it. My design is not a finished product, merely a start to show you i'm working on it. I intend to shade the fonts, and add a maroon beret, and a border. I am looking for a good beret photo to cut for this. If you have a good photo of a beret, send it to me. If you have a better idea, please go for it. I'm doing this out of love for BOB and because I was asked to. I knew Bob Holler, you knew Chief Holler,-- those may be two different patches. I'll not profit, all proceeds over cost will go to bentProp.org. I appreciate constructive input. however, I'm not being paid to bow to requests, If y'all don't like it, tell me, and I'll just make a couple for myself, and those that like it. Ciao, LNM. 21. Yes, I have a design actually, now I just wonder how to handle stuff from here. I want to do embroidered, not stamped, and I want all profits to go to Bent Prop. I post the design for others to see, attached Still need to finish shadowing the font write me at JumperLaurel@msn.com Ciao
  22. Most people think I'm overly anal about falling out backwards. I think there are certain things one should be anal about...not dying due to innocent oversight is one of them, I will investigate this modification further, thank you. 23. Could you please send me a link to the video you speak of concerning falling out of harness. i light of this weeks tragedy, I would like to see it. Perhaps a piece of added webbing is in my future. Thanks. jumperLaureL@msn.com Laurel Nichols _______________________________________ If it weren't for physics and law enforcement, I'd be unstoppable.-Anon
  24. I first met Bruno in Sebastian as he went through AFF. He was handsome, intelligent, funny, and an eager student. The next time I saw him was 2 years later.. he'd amassed 800+ jumps, several ratings, and was working in the skydiving trade. He was a great help to us at our fledgling DZ, organizing jumps and parties alike. His unceasing enthusiam was contagious. He was a great friend, and one of those personalities that makes this sport so wonderful. He will be sorely missed by us all. God's speed, Bruno, I hope you are soaring.
