It is not so much everyone had a shakey past on the plane, everyone is connected ** When I say 'shaky' I don't mean criminal, but something they needed to get away from. But when they went to see the 'kid' she wasn't near her teens.She was a very young child. Jack's dad was drinking himself into the 'decline' and the timeline there is very disconnected. She looked shocked herself to hear they were alive. So, its not Purgatory, but all just Dharma? What IS Dharma? Thats really sick but I'd rather have my dog painted to let me KNOW he's in danger. The Rembrant in question could be viewed as irresponsible for painting the dog, but I think the real message is clear and I, personally would have appreciated it: 'Your dog has NO business running around without a leash--if I got close enough to paint him, imagine what someone who wanted to kill him would have done'.
